"House has a lovely homely feel to it and we felt very comfortable there but there was quite a few easy repairs needed to bring it to a 5* review."
Upon entering there is a huge crack next to the front door running from floor to ceiling, the toilet roll holder came off in my hand the first time I used the loo, the kickboard under the dishwasher kept coming off when you opened the dishwasher, dishwasher top level water dispenser broken off inside dishwasher, sofa uncomfortable and felt like we was constantly sliding forward. Cooker hood absolutely filthy and caked with cooking oil. Also we had an issue with a neighbour parking very awkwardly so that it was quite a manoeuvre to get in and out with the car. Grass desperately needed cutting in the rear garden and the residue from the last cut was still out there so the dogs were constantly tracking grass in the house. This wouldn't have been so bad but the vacuum that is left there for guests to use is so full that you can't actually fix the lid on properly (hettie hoover) and cannot use it. There is a brush but no dustpan to get it up. Otherwise it's a lovely location in a gorgeous little town with a fab secure garden but these little problems, which are such an easy fix, severely let this holiday let down.

"Lovely location and plenty to do."
The property could do with some maintenance and the grass would be better cut. We did find that the property hadn’t been cleaned properly as we found sweets under beds. The hoover stopped working on the day we left so had to finish sweeping with a broom but had no dustpan. Generally a lovely stay, we would stay again and would recommend. All in all a nice little property and a lovely stay. Even better that it is dog friendly.

"Really handy location and parking is a boon."
Plenty of room and kit for cooking. Very clean. Fence replaced (see earlier comment) Slightly worn in places but just cosmetic. Would look better if grass was mown.

"Excellent location for coast and western lakes."
Good food in short walking distance at the Pennington Hotel and Ravensglass Inn. The property was comfortable and reasonably well equipped; although some of the cookware was past its best. the garden was unsuitable to let our small dog off the lead; but it seems the broken fence will be replaced soon. Superficially, communication from Stefan via auto messages was good. But I received no reply to my emails regarding tv remote not working and missing bin key. On the down side, the property would benefit from some general maintenance, especially to interior doors. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay here, and would return to this property for another visit.

"Firstly the positives."
The living room furniture and bed were comfortable. There was a good shower above the bath. Decent internet speed all be it patchy. It was nice and warm when the heating was on. Ravenglass itself is a great location for walks on the doorstep and places to visit close by including Ennerdale water, Muncaster castle and St Bees. Now the downsides and the reasons we won’t be returning to this property which is a shame as we really liked the area. The property itself needs some general maintenance. A few examples are chunks missing from the wall in the hall, cracked tiles in the bathroom, lots of scuff marks on skirting boards that just require a clean or coat of paint, curtain pole bracket damaged. There was no grill pan in the kitchen. Some pans such as the griddle need replacing and weren’t fit to use. The microwave wasn’t clean. The garden wasn’t secure for our dog with a section of fence falling down as well as another section broken. There also appears to be rhubarb growing in the garden which is poisonous to dogs. The app it says to use for TV called “TV Player” was logged out. When we found an app with channels most freeview channels were missing. Thankfully we had a fire TV stick with us and the internet speed was good but patchy which might have been because it was shared with another property. I think the bathroom could do with an extractor fan.

"Had another fantastic holiday in Ravenglass."
Ravenglass Haven was clean, very comfortable and is in an amazing location. Conservatory was lovely to chill in, both in the morning over breakfast or in an evening reading. The Pennington food was absolutely spot on. La'al Ratty is a fun, easy way to get in and out of the fells for walking so car barely moved all week. Muncaster Castle, grounds, owls and bird displays were beautiful to see. Weather looked iffy but we were lucky and had much less rain than originally forecast. Walking on the estuary with my camera was a lovely way to begin or end each day with more egrets than I've ever seen in one place before, heron, curlews, oyster catchers and more. Only minor issue was lack of drawers to unpack suitcase properly but am looking to book again.
