"A great cottage set on a working farm."
As per the listing everything stated was available and adequate for my needs and my trusty canine companion. YES the upstairs was very warm especially since no windows in the property can be opened..but they have purchased a fan which was good enough for me and my dog to keep cool. YES the tv is far too small for the size of the room (but I didnt go to the lakes to watch tv). YES there is no wifi that I was aware of, but these days most people have unlimited data with 4 or 5g (my data worked fine upstairs but patchy in bedroom). The place is just on the doorstep to many fantastic walks with amazing views and only 25mins away from scarfell pike.Overall I enjoyed my stay it was very peaceful and tranquil. If I am ever back this side of the Lakes to stay I will be looking to re-book here.

"Very hot upstairs, couldn’t open any windows unfortunately either upstairs or downstairs."
I’m not scared of spiders but there was a huge amount of them and spider webs. Cottage smelt quite damp smelling. No wi-fi which is very unusual. I did like the location being on a farm and very quiet.

"Couldn’t recommend this property enough!"
The pictures really don’t do justice how beautiful it is. We had a wonderful week away, the property had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and was the perfect base to explore the surrounding areas. The owner is super friendly and communicated so well. We’d love to come back in the future.

"I have attempted twice to contact owner prior to giving feedback to Sykes."
On departure day we searched around to look for owner to inform him of the issues we were concerned about and we also left a letter on the table in Muncaster View. I have today sent a text but to no avail. The following issues were of concern to us: 1. The shower tray did not drain (first bedroom opposite front door) 2. Mixer tap in kitchen area was coming away from its base and we were worried that it might come away altogether and cause flooding 3. Only 1 window could be opened in the property. All the others were sealed shut. 4. The telly was far too small for the size of room and far too high on the wall. We were unable to view the screen properly and could not read the subtitles as the screen was so high up. 5. The freezer compartment of the fridge was dirty. 6. The open fire despite having lots of coal and kindling didn’t have any paper to light it. 7. Toilet seat in second bedroom was very loose and could have caused injury. We both feel that the amount of money paid for 3 nights for a cottage with so many problems was very overpriced.

"There was no stair gate even though one was requested."
This was very inconvenient with a 10 month old baby.
There were a lot of cobwebs that should have been cleaned up before we arrived. There was mildew on one of the quilt covers. The DVD player and TV remote didn't work. The water didn't drain away properly from one of the showers. The fridge freezer was not especially clean and sometimes froze food in the fridge section. The redeeming feature was the washer drier.

"Absolutely loved it some great walks straight from the house and easy the travel to local attractions."
Only thing I would say is didn't find many places to get food so might be worth taking food or stopping in a shop on route (but maybe we just didn't go to the right places)
Loved it so much will definitely return soon can't recommend enough
Really lovely comfortable cosy house had everything we needed
amazing log fire and views of the mountains
Hosts really helpful and welcoming

"Some people had complained about slow broadband and too many flies."
Well it’s on a working farm in the countryside and you are 15 minutes from Wastwater, there is a deserted beach 10 minutes away, what’s not to like? Maybe if the internet is the most important thing to you then try holidays somewhere else as the area more than makes up for this very, very small inconvenience.
Owner very friendly and overall a great property.

"The cottage was as described, very clean, with spacious living area, well equipped for an offering that is not described as deluxe."
Very snug and comfortable, with lots of storage for clothes and food. There were a couple of negative comments in the visitors' book, but obviously from people with unrealistic expectations - eg, comments about flies - but if you book a holiday on a farm, you should expect to find flies in the summer! Biggest problem for us was that the wi-fi was down during our stay, but that wasn't the hosts' fault as there were mast repairs going on. Maybe it should be noted that it is a rural supply with limited signal, but that there are plenty of places offering free wifi in the nearby villages.

"A lovely little cottage in the Lakes."
Clean, tidy and comfortable. It would have been really useful to have a full sized fridge freezer as the cottage is advertised as accommodating two couples. We shared the place with two friends but our food was crammed into the small fridge freezer. Maybe most people don’t use it but my partner has food allergies so we can’t eat out and need to have our own food with us.

"The cottage and owners were lovely however we booked this pet friendly cottage as we were visiting family who have cats."
Only after making full payment were we advised that we could not leave our dog at the property. This did not suit our needs and had we been aware of this prior to booking we would have gone elsewhere. Please ensure information like this is published in the property details to enable customers to make fully informed choices.

"We had a lovely holiday and enjoyed staying at muncaster view."
The location was excellent, the owner was friendly and helpful. There is a great coastal path walk to ravenglass avoiding the main road. The cottage itself is not luxury, but you get what you pay for. The only little niggle we had was with the shower, it was very temperamental, sometimes boiling hot then suddenly went freezing cold, couldn't control it at all, which is not what you want after a long day walking in the fells. Apart from that, we loved our time there.

Beds really comfortable. Large open plan living, eating and cooking space was also really good. Fab views out over the hills. 2km walk to Ravenglass and the railway. Very peaceful and quiet.
We cook and there were just a couple of cooking tools we could have done with, but otherwise really well kitted out.
