"We absolutely loved our stay."
The apartment was very clean and comfortable and the pub was very welcoming, serving great food. We particularly appreciated the vegetarian options.

"Great affordable accommodation surrounded by beautiful scenery & walks."
The pub does great home cooked food & again very reasonable. Beds not overly comfy, but that is my personal opinion as I like a firmer bed. Staff very friendly & helpful & would stay here again.

"Very comfortable apartment situated in a lovely part of the Lakes."
The pub next door did excellent food and the staff were extremely friendly.

"A lovely apartment in a beautiful small village."
After 20 minutes of narrow and twisty roads, we arrived at this beautiful place surrounded by hills and farmlands, where Newfield Inn is located. The staff at the Inn are super nice and friendly. The apartment we stayed in is on the 1st floor. The place is clean and comfortable (warm with the heating on and cool with the windows open). They have most of the cooking amenities. We love the fact that there is a short route right in front of the Inn to walk our dog. It was a 30-minute circle in the woods, along the river, quiet and beautiful. There are also several hiking routes starting from the Inn, varying from 5 to 8 miles. But of course, you can drive to longer ones if you want. There are no stores around (not within 10 miles), so, make sure that you take enough with you. But of course, you can also eat in the Inn if you want, their kitchen is open from 9 am to 9 pm. In summary, we loved the experience, it would have been full marks if the shower room was demoulded beforehand. Highly recommended.

"A wonderful stay."
Arrived late on a fairly cold and soggy March night. Nipped in the pub for the keys to the flat. All amenities you could need. Nice and cosy. Parking round the back. The pub did amazing food and a really good variety. We had local walks near the pub, we could drive to Windermere or Ambleside etc fairly easily. Then came back for dinner most nights as it was easier. Very pleased with the place and was a good price too considering we booked last minute. Would definitely stay again.

"Great place to stay, five stars from me !"
Minor quibbles about the bathroom: hot tap was cold; shower sometimes didn't start pumping till you lowered the shower head, and also you could sometimes hear the shower water heater heating when it wasn't needed - so we kept it switched off (at the ceiling switch) when not in use.
Thankyou for your review, the reason for no hot water was you had turned it off at the ceiling, this switch is for the sink not the shower,i noticed when i cleaned it that water was cold.Thank you again for staying with us Property Owner

"We enjoyed our stay very much."
Apartment was clean and everything you needed was provided. Beds comfortable. Only little things to note were TV a little small on the wall& would have liked the pillows to have protectors on! Newfield Inn below apartment was a lovely added bonus, staff very friendly and welcoming with excellent food. We will be back

"The apartment had everything we needed."
It was clean and comfortable.

"The flat was functional and relatively basic but spacious, clean and comfortable."
The benefit of having the pub 20 yards from the door can't be understated. Great as a base for walking. Wi-Fi was invaluable as there is no mobile signal although the place would benefit from improved TV/Entertainment system.

About the location
BROUGHTON-IN-FURNESS
Millom 7.5 miles; Coniston 9 miles; Ulverston 9.5 miles.
The small village of Eskdale Green sits amongst beautiful Lakeland countryside and consists of a scattering of cottages, some farm dwellings and a number of outstanding traditional English pubs serving good food. An area relatively unknown to many Lakeland visitors, this great location boasts a skyline dominated by the towering peaks of Scafell - England's highest peak, as well as Great Gable, Hard Knott, Harter Fell and Muncaster Fell, whilst the nearby stunning valleys of Eskdale, Wasdale, Ennerdale and Dunnerdale provide breathtaking and ever-changing scenery to be enjoyed throughout the year. The valley is notable as being one of few major valleys in the Lake District not to have its own lake, although several tarns are perched above the valley sides. Local attractions include Muncaster Castle, the World Owl Centre and the Ravenglass to Eskdale miniature railway, one of the most beautiful train journeys imaginable. With both beautiful Wastwater - the deepest lake in the country and St Olaf's - the smallest church, amongst the many well known landmarks in this awe inspiring and beautiful area also within easy reach, this stunning location will have visitors returning time and time again.
