"Very comfortable and well equipped cottage."
Sited within easy reach of shops and eating places in Settle.
-
"Lovely little home for the week clean, warm and welcoming."
A very welcome basket including crumpets, biscuits and cake milk, tea and coffee was provided! Well equipped kitchen! Perfect location for shops, walks ,train etc.
-
"Perfectly located for exploring the surrounding area."
Walking distance to all facilities, pubs, restaurants and shops. Station is also really close by. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. There is so many places I didn't get to see so I will probably have another visit sometime in the not too distant future.

"This was my 15th stay - every June/July for 15 years!"
Both the cottage and the location have been perfect every time. I do a lot of walking/cycling/drinking real ale (though not necessarily in that order!), and this is absolutely ideal for all - outstanding walks in 3 Peaks area, very good cycling in Forest of Bowland & Bronte Country within short train journeys, and various good local pubs. Weather always unpredictable, but that's part of the experience. I'm 73 now - hope I can keep doing this for a few years yet!
-
"Very comfortable accomodation."
Owners very friendly and helpful.Good walks from holiday cottage.Close to local amenities.Overall a pleasant stay.
-
"Very comfortable, well equipped and convenient location (5 mins drive from A65, walking distance from station, supermarket & town centre)."
Suited me very well. 5G Wifi access was a bit patchy, but slightly better in the downstairs bedroom than in the upstairs lounge.
-
"Foxholes Lodge is a lovely, quirky, comfortable property."
The owners, Graham and Lynn, are very friendly and welcoming. The location is fantastic, it's only a 10 minute walk to the Settle railway station and the centre of Settle is only a couple of minutes walk from there where there is a good range of places to eat and drink, plus two lovely pubs in Giggleswick which both serve great food.
-
"Foxholes was a lovely little cottage in giggleswick and the owners were very helpful it was an upside down cottage which was difficult for us as we are not good on stairs we had to carry meals upstairs from the kitchen to the sitting room to eat and trying to balance everything on a try was not safe it was not the cottage for us."
This is a cottage for someone more able it’s great to see all the lovely little villages around in the dales .
-
"Lovely well equipped accommodation central to everything we wanted to do."
Would stay again in the future.
-
"Really enjoyed our stay."
Had everything we needed. Great location. Really friendly, helpful hosts.
-
"A cosy and comfortable place to stay, with offroad parking and a lovely view from the living room windows."
The layout is quirky but we liked that. It's conveniently situated a short walk from the centre of Settle, and there are numerous pleasant walks from the door. The owners are friendly and helpful. Settle is also an ideal base for exploring the surrounding towns, villages and countryside. We had a very enjoyable week and would like to return.
-
"The property was perfect for our needs - it was warm, has a comfortable lounge and bedroom, a decent shower and a well equipped kitchen."
We didn't spend much time at the house as we were out and about hiking. It is easy to walk into the centres of Settle & Giggleswick, and there are many hikes from the house or just a short drive away. We hardly saw the owners next door, but they were very friendly when we did. A great base for a week in the Dales.
-
"Great accomodation, clean, homely, cosy for 2, good location for walking in yorkshire dales."
-
"My husband and I had a lovely weeks stay at Foxholes."
It's in a quiet residential area of Giggleswick with two off road car parking spaces. It is about a 10 minute walk into Settle. The property was quirky with the lounge and bathroom upstairs and the small kitchen and double bedroom downstairs but it was fine once we got used to carrying our food and drinks upstairs. Lynne and Graham the owners live next door and they are really friendly. I'll definitely return to Foxholes as it's the ideal place to stay for visiting Settle and the surrounding areas.

"We like the cosyness of the cottage."
It was a bit difficult to have breakfast upstairs.
-
"Excellent property in a lovely location, highly recommend Foxholes lodge."
-
"We were well pleased with the property"
-
"Cosy & compact."
Clean. Short walk from Settle. Nice pubs in Giggleswick village.
-
"This was my third time at Foxholes Lodge."
The accommodation is clean, comfortable, well equipped and blissfully quiet. The little garden seating area is very welcoming. It is an easy walk into Settle or Giggleswick which suits me very well.
-
"My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 7 night stay at Foxholes Lodge."
It is located in a nice residential area in Giggleswick which is a level 10 minute walk from the centre of Settle which has a choice of pubs and restaurants and a few shops. The cottage has everything needed for a comfortable stay, with a convenient off-road car parking space. The layout is unusual having a nice Lounge and a shower room upstairs, and the small kitchen and double bedroom downstairs, which means having to carry food and drink upstairs to the small dining table in the Lounge, but this did not bother us at all. The Lounge is really nice with good views of the hills above Settle. Wi-fi did not work for us in the Lounge, but worked fine downstairs in the Bedroom and outside on the rear patio. The owners, Graham and Lynne, live in the attached bungalow next door and are really friendly. We are happy to recommend Foxholes Lodge for couples wanting to stay near Settle which has lovely walks all around.

"The property is not as pictured online and is not a cosy romantic setting at all."
Both external doors in the kitchen and bedroom are thick with mould, leaving an unbearable smell of foist and damp throughout the property. We spent all of our days day and most of our nights out of the property because of this and only used it for sleeping. Very disappointed as this was not what we were led to believe from the pictures online.

"What a lovely house everything we needed and so comfortable."
Close to all amenties in settle and off road parking. Will definitely rebook next year.

"We had a amazing week at Foxholes Lodge!"
Such a cosy cottage with its quirky stairs. The kitchen had everything we needed, the bed was so comfortable that I slept soundly on our first night away (which I’ve never done before). It has its own private garden with table and chairs and off road parking space. It’s so ideally situated, being close to all the walks we wanted to do (Ingleton waterfalls walk, Malham Cove/Tarn/ Janet’s Foss, Clapham/Gaping Gill, Pen y Ghent. It’s just a short stroll to Settle which has a wonderful Booth’s supermarket. The Old Naked Man cafe is well worth a visit, but beware - the smells coming out of it on a Sunday morning will make you salivate! The fish and chip shop opposite is excellent. Our hosts Graham, Lynn, Maggie and Rosie were very welcoming and friendly and happy to share their knowledge of the local area. We couldn’t have wished for a more perfect week and will be returning to Foxholes Lodge soon. Thank you!

"Lovely little property, 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Settle, set in a peaceful location."
Small, but just enough space for comfort - though people with accessibility issues may struggle somewhat. Wi-Fi doesn't reach lounge. Plenty of pots and pans to cook basic meals. Has a fridge but no freezer.
-
"We had a comfortable week at foxholes ,it was our second visit."
It is clean ,comfortable and cosy and a very nice stroll by the river into Settle .it is very handy for the Settle Carlisle railway and also the Embsay steam heritage railway, we also managed a bus ride to Skipton and a trip on the canal boat.It is only a short car journey to the magnificent Ribblehead Viaduct. We would definitely visit again.
-
"Very nice place to stay the owners were very friendly and helpful."
The cottage was very comfortable with all the utensils you need.lovely comfortable bed ,and in a beautiful part of the country..all in all a very nice place to stay..
-
"Cosy, peaceful cottage."
Ideal for a variety of walks from the doorstep. Approx. 10min walk from Settle town centre, where there are plenty of places to eat & drink. We really loved it but wouldn't recommend for people who are unsteady on their feet as the kitchen is downstairs & lounge upstairs, which means carrying hot drinks/food upstairs.
-
"A comfortable and ideally situated annexe, with the Dales right on the doorstep."
Perfect for a car free vacation as everything is close enough that you could park up on arrival day and not need the car till the day you leave. My only complaint would be the wifi, which is non existant in the comfortable lounge.
-
"Very well equipped and comfortable, and warm morning and evening."
The wifi was a bit erratic upstairs but fine on the half landing between bedroom and kitchen, and for writing emails in bed. A warning re the low ceiling in the kitchen by the fridge would be useful (I bumped my head a couple of times getting stuff out of the fridge/cupboards). But a lovely little cottage, v well situated for walking the Dales, and only a short walk into Settle (butchers, bakers, Booths, and the start of some great walks). I'd definitely stay here again, and good to note that several others thought so too from the visitors book. Lots of repeat visits, which is top feedback in itself.
-
"Nice comfortable cottage in lovey surroundings."
Lots of walks nearby and a lovely town.
-
"Lovely holiday accommodation, whilst small it had absolutely everything we needed during our stay."
Very cosy and lovely views across the hills. We would certainly like to return, if you like walking there are a number of walks right off the doorstep. The furthest we travelled by car during the week was 7 miles . Only a short walk into Settle, great choice of eating places if you fancy a meal out. No hesitation in recommending this holiday accommodation.
-
"The cottage was lovely."
The owners advised of how to collect the key etc prior to our arrival and left tea milk and biscuits for when we arrived which was very nice. Lovely location and easy access to Settle and the surrounding countryside.
-
"Excellent base when visiting the Dales."
A quirky layout. Has all you need for a comfortable stay with the bonus of off street parking
-
"Cottage is very clean and comfortable."
Location is a perfect base for walking, cycling and exploring the area, especially for those without a car - 2 separate railway stations within 0.5 miles, and bus stop for Settle-Kirkby Lonsdale buses within 100 yards. Shops and pubs 0.5 miles too. I've now stayed 11 years running!
-
"Graeme and Lynne were wonderful hosts - many thanks to them for a wonderful stay."
-
"Really nice couple, letting a really nice little cottage in a prime location to explore the Dales."
-
"The cottage is looking a bit tired, with some internal decoration needed A big plus would be an independently heated towel rail in the bathroom as dry towels would have been nice to have each day Overall it was OK, but not as nice as other Sykes cottages that we have stayed in as the design of the building gives rise to some very acute angles and care has to be taken not to hit your head!"
The location was very good for walking into Settle and for the railway station for the Settle-Carlisle line
-
"Loved this cottage,very clean,great parking , can't fault it."
Thankyou
-
"An enjoyable week in this small and cosy cottage with everything we needed for our stay."
Settle is a lovely market town and we were close to may wonderful walks. Would definitely love to come back in the future.
-
"A thoroughly enjoyable week at Foxholes Lodge."
Very comfortable, clean accommodation in a wonderful setting with friendly, helpful hosts. We really could not have asked for anything more !
-
"This is the second time I have stayed at Foxholes Lodge and even though the stays were a year apart and with lots of other visitors in between, the condition and the cleanliness were still superb."
I have booked again for next year already. It is well situated with beautiful surroundings and many excellent walks from the doorstep. Supermarket within walking distance as well as nice pubs, restaurants and cafes. Looking forward to my next stay already!
-
"Would have been nice if garden was more private."
Grill pan was really greasy, we didn't use it. The cottage was quirky which we liked and in a great location.
-
"Found there were not enough dishes if using the microwave when re heating food/cooking a meal."
Shame there was no room for a small washing machine or a freezer compartment in fridge would have been handy.
-
"Ideally situated for the dales and lakes."
-
"This holiday let is a little gem- a great location with plenty to see & do all around"
-
"The cottage was perfect - comfortable and clean and close to where I was working."
The kitchen was fully equipped allowing us to cook an evening meal without resorting to pub meals in the evenings. The owners were very welcoming leaving us everything, including milk and biscuits, to make a drink on our arrival. Station road had parking spaces but it was very convenient to have a parking space inside the yard. The views were beautiful and the cottage a very short walking distance to Settle, and the shops, as well as some beautiful walks by the river.
-
"Lovely, cosy, warm, clean, comfortable cottage."
Everything was well stocked and met our needs. We also met the owners who were very welcoming and friendly. The wi-fi signal was quite weak, maybe just needs a signal booster. The cottage is only 15 minutes walk to Settle train station and the main town. Everyone we met in Giggleswick and Settle were friendly. We enjoyed our train journeys to Carlisle, Skipton and Leeds. The Royal Oak pub in Settle was very welcoming and we were served by friendly staff. Definitely recommend the cottage and the location.
-
"Lovely comfortable cottage nicely furnished and well equipped set in a beautiful part of Yorkshire what more could you ask."
-
"We enjoyed our stay in, Foxholes very much, it is compact and quirky but has all you need."
It is situated on a quiet road on the edge of Settle with a very nice stroll along the river into town centre. There are many of the Yorkshire Dale's attractions close by and a short drive to the Lake District and Morecambe ,
-
"Everything we expected and more."
Even a pint of milk on the doorstep when we arrived!
-
"Very welcoming hosts."
Welcome tea & biscuits on arrival. Well equiped accommodation walking distance to restaurants.
-
"Excellent accommodation in a really good location, ideally placed within easy walking distance of both Giggleswick and Settle railway stations giving the option of parking the car and using the railway to explore the area."
Foxholes Lodge is comfortable accommodation and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Wouldn't hesitate to book again if heading back to the area.
-
"The cottage was very comfortable and clean and had everything you needed for a holiday."
It was well placed to visit both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. There are some nice pubs in Settle - particularly the Talbot Arms and a Coop supermarket. All in all we had an enjoyable stay and even lots of sunshine!
-
"Foxhole Lodge more than met my expectations."
Beautifully situated, many walks locally and others well within easy driving distance. The accommodation itself was excellent - everything provided and very clean. I will definitely stay there again - still so much more of the area to explore!
-
"An excellent one bedroom let very clean and comfortable, we had every thing that we could possibly need for a weeks break except for the weather."
Rain Rain and more Rain but the sun was shinning when we arrived and every thing was just fine. We walked into Settle and had a very nice and relaxing evening meal and a very pleasant walk along the river back to our let.
-
"Enjoyable holiday as always when we go to Settle made a pleasure by the excellent accommodation."
-
"We never got there because of the snow and were shocked to find that the Sykes insurance company abolished coverage for adverse weather conditions just a few weeks before we booked, just in time for winter one presumes."
-
"The accommodation was spotless and tastefully decorated."
There was plenty of parking space which is always an added bonus as I hate walking miles to my car or having to struggle in a poky place. My eyes are not what they were. The local facilities were far enough away without it being too much of a trek if you wanted a drink and to leave the car behind. I fully enjoyed the stay and would recommend to friends and family without a second thought.Great little house and a nice welcome with Grandma Wild's biggest(No relation) and fresh flowers. Keep up the good work. Paul Wild.

About the location
GIGGLESWICK
Settle 0.8 mile; Malham 7.3 miles; Skipton 16.2 miles.
This delightful Ribblesdale village lies below a limestone scar (part of the Craven fault) and just across the river from the bustling market town of Settle. It’s an incredibly pretty place with sturdy houses and cottages, many dating back to the 17th century as the ‘date stones’ over their doorways will confirm. Today the village is still centred around the beautiful St Alkelda’s church, which dates back to the 12th century and the well-known landmark of the domed chapel at the famous Giggleswick School, which dominates the village skyline. Giggleswick itself has two pubs, whilst the wide ranging amenities of the nearby market town of Settle are within easy walking distance. Further afield is the town of Ingleton with its splendid waterfall walk and of course (for the serious walker) the Three Peaks are nearby.
