  • "West View cottage was fabulous!"

Extremely comfy beds, great selection of cooking utensils, very convenient for walks from the door and into town, great to have a utility/boot room. Easy to find - good instructions for getting into the property.

Thanks for the review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. It is a beautiful part of the world. Property Owner

  • "West View Cottage is a lovely cottage on a quiet street in Settle."

The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. We were a party of 5 adults and the cottage felt spacious. We had a couple of queries about the heating while we were there and the owner contacted us immediately to address our issues. I'd definitely recommend West View, it's a beautiful cottage in a quiet area of Settle, which is also very convenient for the train station and shops.

  • "This property is lovely."

It's so spacious, the photos don't do it justice. From outside it looks tiny ,but it is like a TARDIS when you get inside!. Immaculately clean. Lovely touches everywhere. It is situated right in the town centre, so the cars were parked up and we didn't need to use them at all during our stay. Only comments are , a few more waste bins dotted about, and mirrors in the two twin rooms would be handy. These are really only a minor point. We were 8 girls and we had a great time.

  • "We were very happy with the property and its location."

In cold and frosty early winter (beautiful!) weather, the house was warm and cosy. It is well equipped and very comfortable, beautifully decorated. We loved being within close walking distance to the centre of Settle and so close to the beauty of the Dales. In fact we didn’t travel far to access stunning walks or bike rides. We found the mortice lock on the front door a little tricky and mainly used the back door. A more precise address would be helpful in the listing/confirmation ie including the street name not just the name of the terrace (although the street name was in the more detailed directions it would have helped to have it included in the property address)

  • "Really great cottage with plenty of space and central to Settle."

Parking was no issue, always a space in front of house. Pre arrival call with owner was great, really helpful with details of stay and very accommodating. I could not fault the accommodation or Settle itself. Very happy

  • "This is a super property, ideal for a family party of eight."

We really appreciated the kitchen and dining area - we’ve had places in the past where they don’t really allow room for everyone. All the rooms and facilities were immaculate. The location is ideal being a short walk from the town - which is full of interest. It is easy to access walks from the house - even allowing for inclement weather as there is plenty of drying space in the property!

Thanks for the great feedback and lovely to hear you enjoyed the stay. Property Owner

  • "Great place to stay."

Wonderful view from rear of cottage. Lovely walks, pubs and places to eat. Station really handy for rail trips. Excellent facilities in cottage. A proper handrail on the steep stairs and perhaps a chair in the bunk room would help. Otherwise brilliant.

  • "Very comfortable & clean."

Excellent showers, brilliant bath-with-a-view, ample hot water. Very useful to have a dryer as well as a washer. All the rooms (except for the twin bedroom) are bigger than they look in the photos. A very good selection of games/dvds provided - we spent a lot of time around the kitchen table playing 'Don't Panic'. Had a minor issue (DVD player not working) which was sorted immediately by the owner. No problems with on street parking.100% would return.

Thanks for the feedback and glad you had a good time. We love "Don't Panic" too. Property Owner

It was very comfortable for the 6 of us — clean and well equipped. We really appreciated the amazing bathrooms and large Utility Room which was ideal for drying off clothes after some of our rather wet walks ! Also handy for popping into Settle with its shops and great places for tea and coffee. A great base for visiting the Dales.

  • "Enjoyable stay in this property in Settle."

Easy walking distance into the centre, lots of shops/cafes/eating places. Highly recommend The Golden Lion for an evening meal (make sure you book in advance) Short walk to the Settle railway station too and we had a wonderful ride from Settle to Carlisle - beautiful scenery! May we make a couple of suggestions? The front double bedroom would benefit from a mirror and a wall chart or reminder could be displayed in the utility room to show when bins need putting out for emptying. When we where there both exterior bins were full.

  • "Excellent in most aspects but one important issue for us and we noticed others have mentioned the same issue ."

There is no handrail on the stairs. This is dangerous for the young , the old and those with mobility difficulties . Also could do with litter bins in bedrooms . Other than these things I would have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful cottage to others .

Glad you enjoyed the house. Appreciate the suggestion about the handrail and we are getting one fitted in the next few weeks. Property Owner

Co-op, Bakery & Cafe, Pizza takeaway, Fish & Chips, Pubs etc. There is also a lovely Riverside walk. It's perfectly located for easy access to Malham, Clapham, Austwick, Ingleton and the Ribblehead viaduct. Nothing was more than a 25 minute drive away.
