Thanks for your feedback. Very sorry about the pub - unfortunately as we live 240 miles away, I never know if it’s open or closed. • "A lovely clean cottage in a great location for the south lakes."

Comfortable, cosy and spacious for a small cottage with a well equipped kitchen. Very nice shared garden (direct on to the fast flowing river though). Parking is potentially awkward directly outside the cottage, but there's space elsewhere. Only real downside is the village pub (Royal Oak) being currently closed long-term (does mean you can use their car park though) and the pub at the top of the road only open very limited hours a few days a week.

We went to the Farmers arms pub for dinner, only a couple of minutes walk from the house, and would highly recommend. We really enjoyed our short break and would recommend to others.

We enjoyed our stay and were comfortable. The owner was friendly and responsive to all our questions and accommodated our needs. The only disadvantage was that buses were available twice a day and only on weekdays. Otherwise, we had a pleasant and comfortable stay and got to know some of the warm folks in that area.

Thank you. So pleased you enjoyed your stay at No 7 and we of course will be very happy for you to return. Sorry about the freezer, but as you are aware the kitchen is quite compact and fridge space /size won over the option of a tiny freezer box within the fridge. Property Owner

Found we were able to park outside quite easily even when we had been out all day. Bev the cottage owner does not live locally but is on hand to talk to if needed and is more than willing to help which is good for peace of mind. All you need is there in the cottage and any additional info easy to find. Sound of the river behind the cottage is lovely and plenty to do around the south lakes. Loads of walks locally and more if you want to travel the area. Pub couple doors away recently refurbed, good food, nice owners, also one up the hill, great beer and food a little different, with interesting workshops with cafe, well worth 5 minute walk. Shops more of a trek for supplies but as a whole we had a great time in this cottage and would certainly return again.

Thanks ever so much for your very positive review. We do our best to ensure our cottage is well looked after and comfortable Bev and Will Property Owner

Lovely clean cottage equipped with everything we needed. Very comfortable beds which is really important to me! The location is truly stunning. The shared outside space is beautiful with fabulous views over rolling hills, and a river at the bottom of the garden. I felt I had come to my heaven! I spent hours sitting reading in the garden soaking up the views, sounds and general peaceful ambiance of the place. The neighbours were lovely and friendly and gave us some good advice about the locality. The pub almost next door was also great with pleasant staff and tasty food. Plenty of beautiful walks in the locality so we hardly had to drive out except to get groceries. The host was also lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. With lovely accommodation, which has been tastefully enhanced to maximise the original features, the cottage offers one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a shower room on the first floor.

Outside, at the rear, there are open grounds shared with the rest of the terrace, which stretches down to the river.

Being ideally situated on the edge of the Lake District, there are lots of beautiful areas to explore, including the quaint Lakeland village of Hawkshead, which is just 20 minutes drive away, whilst from the cottage itself you can step out and enjoy numerous paths and bridleways running through spectacular countryside.
