Take full advantage of the open-plan kitchen and dining space by preparing your tasty home cooked meals as a group while your favourite music plays in the background.

Gather around the breakfast bar, or recline in front of the Smart TV, catching up on your favourite shows while you warm your feet beside the ambient electric fire.

To relax those aching muscles after your day exploring why not take a long warm soak in the private hot tub to unwind in the evening before making your way to the sophisticated bedrooms to catch your rest, all equipped with a Smart TV should a nice film before bed take your fancy.

When you’ve settled in to your new home away from home, the nearby attractions are aplenty with Barrow Park which provides an excellent opportunity for a family stroll, Dalton Castle, The Dock Museum for the local history on shipbuilding and Furness Golf Club which enables the sporty ones in the group to keep up with their practice while away and indulge in the course’s scenic sea views.

Slightly further afield you can find the Sir John Barrow Monument, Langholme Mill Gardens and the Old Farmhouse restaurant with its cosy bar and open fire to keep toasty during those winter months.

You’re also not far from the Lake District National Park which also hosts many of its own enticing visits like the Hay Bridge Nature Reserve, Black Fell Peak hiking area and the stunning Windermere lake which features eighteen islands and several boating activities.

Your Cumbrian escape and all that comes with it awaits you at Crag View Cottage.

Where you’ll be staying

DALTON-IN-FURNESS

Ulverston 5 miles.

The ancient town of Dalton-in-Furness lies in a narrow valley on that part of the Furness Peninsula which extends deep into Morecambe Bay. Once the leading town of Furness, Dalton has a good selection of shops, restaurants and pubs. The architecture of the town includes some interesting buildings in and around the market place, as well as an elegant Victorian drinking fountain, the market cross and slabs of stone used for fish drying in the 19th century. The 14th-century pele tower, known as Dalton Castle, was originally a place of refuge for the monks of nearby Furness Abbey, an impressive sandstone ruin nestling in a peaceful wooded valley. Within easy reach of the town are the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, the world's only Laurel and Hardy museum at Ulverston and the Haventhwaite Steam Railway which runs to Lakeside, where you can board a steam train for Bowness or Ambleside. Just north of Dalton-in-Furness is the stunning Duddon Estuary and Duddon Valley, with Cartmel, Holker Hall and Grizedale Forest within easy reach. Situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park, and surrounded by mountains and beaches, this area is ideal for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers.
