"We were absolutely delighted with our accommodation and our stay at Stone Cross Mansion."
Fabulously furnished, spotlessly clean, everything required for a lovely holiday. Also a big TV screen and a cordless hoover!! The pool table in the building was extremely welcome for my teenagers - and for us too. Loads of games too. It was ideally situated - we felt very rural but were actually just a few minutes walk from Ulverston town centre.

"The Violet Suite at Stone Cross Mansion was fantastic for our family getaway this summer."
We took the parents away and they were able to have their own privacy with a luxurious bedroom with large en suite and still able to spend quality time with us in the communal areas of the apartment and in the mansion grounds where we enjoyed games. The apartment was well equipped, comfortable, clean and warm. We were greeted by friendly staff and they helped with any issues which we had (although we didn’t have many issues as everything was so good). The children felt like they were in a fairytale setting, staying at such a fabulous mansion. The bed was comfortable, there was no expense spared in the quality of furniture and furnishings. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to booking again to stay here in the future. A fantastic place to stay!

The sofa was a trifle uncomfortable for people of our age (Over 65). It was very modern with deep seating which if you have difficulty in moving can be a problem. The kitchen could do with a couple of cooking/serving dishes. Mike, the property manager was very helpful. Overall an excellent stay and will be back.

Many thoughtful touches to make stay excellent, especially in the kitchen equipment - probably the first time we've stayed somewhere with properly sharp knives! And literally everything we needed. Great decor, everything functional worked perfectly, games in communal areas good for rainy days. All round excellence - many thanks.

"Wow! What a superb property!"
We had a great week here. The property is amazing and the apartment has everything you need for a really enjoyable and comfortable stay in the South Lakes area. The attention to detail is brilliant and I would highly recommend staying here. We met one of the owners, Mike, a couple of times during our stay and he was so welcoming, informative and helpful. Getting to the South Lakes is really easy and it's only a 10 min stroll into Ulverston itself. We'd recommend The Mill and The Farmers for a meal out. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Ulverston is a traditional market town built around a cobbled main street. It boasts a fine selection of independent shops, café’s, and pubs with open fires and real ales. There is an extensive selection of eating places to suit everyone, from fine dining to traditional pub food. Ulverston is also well known as a festival town, with events ranging from flags and walking to art and music festivals throughout the summer months and with the renowned Dickensian Christmas festival in late November. It is the birthplace of Stan Laurel and world record holder of the biggest foam pie fight in the world giving a glimpse into the fun community spirited little town. There are excellent walks around the town and beautiful countryside, with views of the southern Lake District and Morecambe Bay. Home to the deepest, widest and shortest canal, which makes for a lovely afternoon walk with a pub at the end and views over the bay. All of the attractions of the National Park are also easily reached. The Furness Coast boasts sandy beaches and good birdwatching.
