"We stayed in the Granary apartment which is ground level."
The apartment is kitted out to a high spec, 3 smart TVs, comfy beds, dishwasher and a lovely rainfall shower. The property owner is just next door and was really friendly, she gave us food to feed the animals in the small holding. On arrival to the property we were overwhelmed by a strong damp smell which increased in both bedrooms. We tried to air the property out by opening all windows (windows are small and very high up). Opening windows did not help the smell and on closer inspection we noticed areas where paint has peeled off the walls in bedroom and has been painted over again - wallpaper is also starting to peel and there is black mould in the corners - therefore, I believe this property has a damp issue which needs sorting. The damp did cause us to have allergies (itchy skin etc) so we had to take anti histamines during our stay. The advertisement doesn't make it clear that there is no view from the property as the small windows are so high up - this felt a little claustrophobic when we spent time in the let. There is also alot of noise from the upstairs apartment - this didn't particularly bother us, however, if you are looking for a very relaxing retreat this would not be the holiday let for you.

"This property is in a beautiful peaceful location, it is well equipped and nicely furnished with everything you need."
Ulverston is not far away by car. It is all clean with nice fluffy towels and clean bedding, the only thing i would say is more attention needs paying to cobwebs, around the double bed base and around skirtings in bathroom/bedrooms. The worst thing about this property is that the noise is so loud from the property above it spoils it, you can hear everything! its like a herd of elephants walking back and forth, i thought we were lucky to start with as the family above went to bed at a similar time and woke at a a similar time to us until the last night! not sure what went on as we thought they had gone home early but then at 3am in the night someone came back walking back and forth opening drawers/wardrobes banging around, (assume packing things) we barely had any sleep. I feel sorry for the owners as it is such a lovely property but we couldn't stay at this property again due it being so noisy from property above.

"This is a lovely property, very carefully planned layout."
The owner is a very friendly lady. would definitely stay here again. It's very well equipped and there is a garden that we sat in most evenings. There is also a picnic area you can use as long as like us, you don't mind chickens and sheep. all very friendly. i was a little apprehensive, as this property seems to be right out in the countryside, but you're not that far away from amenities. just don't forget the essentials lol

"Lovely little place."
Small living area and noisy floorboards but as we were out a lot this didn’t bother us. Very comfortable beds and lovely garden to sit in.

About the location
BARDSEA
Ulverston 2 miles.
Set on a hill looking across to Morecambe Bay is the small village of Bardsea. This remote area grew from a small fishing village and farming area into a major transportation link for coal, iron ore and corn. No longer a vital port, Bardsea still retains its fishing heritage, and features a pub serving fine ales and good food. The village is close to spectacular Furness Abbey, while the ancient market town of Ulverston is just 2 miles away, and still has a street market every Thursday and Saturday, plus many festivals throughout the year, including an amazing lantern procession in September and a superb Dickensian weekend in early December. With all the attractions of the Lake District National Park, beaches and good birdwatching of the Furness coast close by, this peaceful and quiet area has plenty to offer.
