  • "We were freezing cold in the living room and only stayed one night because of that."

I was very disappointed that we couldn't turn the heating up, it spoiled our trip which was for my husband's 65th birthday.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you found the property cold. All guests are provided with our out of hours contact number and had you made us aware of your discomfort, we would have attended and remedied this for you. Property Owner

  • "In my opinion Lakelovers obviously do not check up, on the properties they have on their site, whilst my stay was refunded to me in part from the actual owner of the cottage, Lakelovers refused to refund my booking fee for the property they promote yet know about the problems with the rental from reviews left over 2yrs ago with the exact same issues."

They also promote a property with out of date PAT tested appliances something I'm aware is a legal requirement. Would I book with them again, No is the easy answer. My review is solely for Lakelovers as I stated prior, I actually dealt with the owner of the property regarding my issues & feel assured they will make they're property one to return to.

  • "There are a few things that need to be improved."

Despite the Internet router saying connected we could not connect to the Internet using the info provided or on the base of the router. There needs to be an oven operation manual. The 2nd bedroom had loads of cobwebs especially down the side of the wardrobe and between the shower and basin. The shower in bedroom 2 needs a shower mat. I slipped several times. The blind in the 2nd bedroom could do with being replaced with a black out blind. When the sun rose you were instantly awake as it was way too bright. Neither of the bedroom tvs worked as would not connect to the Internet. The router shelf in the main bedroom needs repairing as falling off the wall. That said, the location and views were perfect.

Hi Jacqui, many thanks for your feedback, and for letting us know of the issues you had. We have now printed off an oven manual so we hope this will help future guests. We also note that the WiFi has had some issues, we are looking into a booster to help resolve this. Thank you also for noting the issues regarding the shower, we will invest in a shower mat. Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope you enjoyed your stay :) Property Owner

  • "Good Morning I have just returned home after spending 3 nights in your cottage."

The cottage itself is beautiful, however I was thoroughly disappointed at our inability to access the internet or watch television. We did speak to the people from your Ambleside office who sent out the maintenance team, they were unable to connect the internet as they said it had been cut off from outside somewhere. They then reported this to their manager who said they would contact the owner and get back to us. As yet, I’m still waiting on a return call to the only phone that could pick up a signal as the rest of us were relying on internet as two of us were visiting from Canada. My husband was supposed to be working from home and was unable to do so. We also reported a bleeping noise that went off every five minutes and kept us awake, the maintenance crew couldn’t find where the noise was coming from so disconnected the “flood system “, this didn’t rectify the problem as the bleeping still continued. I would like to suggest that the welcome pack is put on the worktop as it was in the bottom drawer and we didn’t find it until yesterday. Also it would be a good idea to have instructions on how to operate the washer/dryer and cooker. We could only get the oven to work. I was really disappointed as I feel I paid over £700 for 3 days and expected everything to be in working order. These are things I feel should be checked before every new arrival. • "Perfectly pleased despite a few areas which need attention , for tv watchers the sky box is not working with the dish, two small areas of painted walls are flaking , there is a slow leak in the sink area of the second bedroom en suite."

It did not dampen our stay. The swifts, swallows, and house martins were a pleasurable distraction so tv was not essential.

  • "The property was very clean and well equipped."

The heating was a problem , far too cold in the sitting room and problems with all the TV sets and internet . Whilst I appreciate the isolation of the property , there was no signal connecting Sky handset and box through the Sky remote . The office were very efficient in sending maintenance out twice bringing a convector heater and trying to sort out TV’s having visited to do this on the Monday and again on the Wednesday , I had to call the office again on the Friday regarding TVs , although declining a 3rd visit we were not desperate for a TV to watch on our last night but wanted to allow for issues to be sorted for following holiday makers . I would suggest the owners spend time sorting out the TV’s and internet , upgrading the equipment . Having 3 phone calls and 2 visits for the same ongoing issues in less than a week must be expensive calling out a maintenance team and frustrating for office staff who can only best play the hand they are dealt . Whilst the listing of three TV’ seems impressive the realisation that not even one TV worked for the week was both disappointing and frustrating The service from the office was exemplary .

  • "The property was well maintained although there were some small cracks visible (one in front room)."

Also it was clean but we did find a yellow balloon from the previous stay which was behind the radiator in the main front bedroom. Some cracks on the crockery too. All in all though it was very lovely and comfortable during our stay. Views from the patio were amazing and it was very cosy. We could have stayed looking at the beautiful scenery all day. We would recommend instructions for the cooker as we had never used an electric one but we did figure it out. Definitely would recommend.

  • "Hi, firstly we would like to say what a wonderful location the apartment is in!"

We found a number of broken/chipped items which should have been picked up before we stayed. There were no instructions for the oven, thankfully we managed to search the internet. Again this should have been checked before we arrived. We feel you need to improve your customer service. I phoned on two separate days (Monday and Tuesday as your office was shut over the weekend) to say we were unable to get onto the wifi. It would have been nice if someone had followed up to see if we had resolved the issue. It was disappointing that we could not use the TV's in the bedrooms. We also reported that it looked like there should have been a Sky box in the master bedroom. Your maintenance team reported back to you that they agreed following a visit to look at the wifi issues. Again we should have received a call with an update. We managed to set the fire alarm off, when I phoned I was surprised that the lady who answered didn't have a full inventory of the apartment, or know how to turn it off. In the end I phoned three times. We appreciate that the building is quite old, but there appears to be damp on the walls in the fireplace in the master bedroom.

Thank you for your comments. We are pleased that you enjoyed the location. We take all comments on board, and we will ask our Maintenance and Housekeeping Team to ensure that our high standards continue to be met. Thank you The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

No paper work to tell us how to stop it as it was hard wired phoned number on my email office closed only a number for critical emergencies this was not good enough.I had to remove face of smoke detector and pull wire off but this still left lights flashing all night.Had to phone next day after very little sleep and both items were repaired but it was clear to me the extractor had not been checked prior to our arrival, this unfortunately put us off using the cooking facilities which really defeated the object of self catering. This cottage was in a great location with superb views but a simple flick of a switch to make sure something was working would have made a lot of difference sorry

Easy access on arrival. Good communication prior to arrival. A couple of small things that would make it perfect…. Directions from different directions as the unit as seen in the pics is not visible from the road. And a few basics provided like a couple of extra toilet rolls, hand soap etc. it’s a fair distance to a Tesco for things you didn’t think to bring. Overall, though, we’d like to go back there sometime!

Thank you so much for your kind comments. As this is a self-catering accommodation we provide a started amount of toilet rolls and it is down the owner to supply extra products. They will be able to see your review and can action on it where they feel necessary. We are glad that you enjoyed everything that the property and area have to offer.
