"Lovely cottage to stay."
Everything is perfect except the driveway is definitely a challenge especially for an SUV. Perhaps you could cut back the sharp stone that protrudes on the right side as you are going down the driveway plus the right corner at the top of the driveway when leaving. Otherwise we loved it! Lovely views, nicely renovated cottage. Well equipped kitchen. Everything is lovely.
We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay at our cottage and very much appreciate your feedback on areas we can improve. We recognise that the drive is initially a little tricky but it is something you get used to. That said, we are in the process of getting this changed as much as we can to improve the access and hope that this will be done in the next few months weather permitting. Property Owner

"This is a superb cottage with spectacular views nestled in Troutbeck."
We had a delightful stay and thanks for creating another family memory for us. A great space created by the owners - we would thoroughly recommend this tranquil space in the Lakes.

"Just spent a week at the Cozy Peacock and what a lovely cottage this is."
Peaceful with stunning views. The cottage is very comfortable with all mod cons. There is also a very pleasant large garden. As the cottage allows pets, I would recommend to the owner that a baby gate is installed at the bottom of the stairs heading up to the bedrooms this will ensure pets don’t stray in the night. Would highly recommend the Cozy Peacock to anyone looking to stay in beautiful Troutbeck, there are also two excellent pubs within walking distance. Would we book again “Yes”.
Thank you so much for your very positive review of your stay at our cottage. We are really pleased that you enjoyed your time there and agree that Troutbeck is a beautiful place. We will look into your suggestion of a stair gate and how we can balance ease of access to the top floor (where the bedrooms are) for guests who do not have dogs with restricting dog access for those guests who do. "Sandra is a superb host any issues or queries were quickly dealt with and sorted."
The cottage is beautiful with stunning views and peace and quiet yet with in walking distance of two excellent hotels serving good food. The drive down to the property is narrow but once at the bottom plenty of space to park
Thank you for your very positive feedback and we are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you also for the information regarding a couple of minor inaccuracies in the property details which have now been corrected. We are keen to present the cottage clearly so your attention to detail is much appreciated. Property Owner

"Unfortunately we had a bad start to our stay at the cottage."
The bathrooms were not very clean. The toilets needed cleaning. We arrived on the Saturday and housekeeping came out on the monday with a welcome pack which was left on the dining table, and they cleaned the bathrooms. The mattress protector was too small for the super king-size bed. This was reported to Sykes and was never rectified. The blind in the master bedroom was Mouldy, which was taken down on the Wednesday. Therefore I slept on the sofa due to having a partially collapsed lung and low immune system. The owners tried their best to rectify the issues but Sykes really didn't act very quickly at all. It really quite ruined our holiday, and was not worth 5 sykes ticks.
We are really sorry that the start to your holiday was not up to the standard that we and LakeLovers expect. Sadly, the cleaner provided by LakeLovers that usually cleans the Cosy Peacock to a high standard went “rogue” for your changeover and personally arranged cover for her cleaning rather than use the cover cleaners provided by LakeLovers. The clean by their selected replacement was not only unacceptable but also they had not been given all the instructions they should have been, in particular with regards to your welcome pack. The approach taken by the cleaner towards cover for them is not something that LakeLovers have had happen before - we and LakeLovers apologise for this and suffice to say that this will not happen again although I appreciate that this does not mitigate your experience. We want to reassure you that the issues that you have raised have been addressed so we do not expect any future guests to have the same problems. The two guest parties who have stayed in the property between us acquiring the Cosy Peacock a few weeks ago and your stay were both highly complementary of the property. Property Owner

"We had a lovely stay at the cosy peacock, surrounded by beautiful countryside, with a lovely outside seating area to have a glass of wine & enjoy the views."
It is a very peaceful location, but within easy reach from Ambleside & other places around Windermere. There is two lovely country pubs within walking distance, serving good food from both, although we preferred the Mortal Man for the outside seating with stunning views. The cottage itself was very comfortable, especially the beds. The kitchen was well equipped & had everything we needed & the bathrooms had excellent showers. Although the cottage was snug, we had plenty of room for 4 adults & 2 dogs. All in all we had a wonderful week at the lovely cosy peacock & would highly recommend.
Thank you for your positive feedback and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

The small Lakeland village of Troutbeck can be found between its more famous neighbours Windermere and Ambleside, close by the Kirkstone Pass. A mixture of houses, cottages and farms, the village is scattered along a narrow lane bordered by a drystone wall.
