  • "Our second stay at Valley View this year."

We love the location for walking and Ambleside easily accessible by car or across the fells. Nice to have 2 pubs very nearby. Wonderful views from the property and garden area. We felt the apartment was very well equipped and pleased all instructions for kitchen items now in handbook which is really helpful. Thank you for another enjoyable holiday. Angela

  • "Clean, comfortable accommodation."

Great facilities. Great location. Broadband was a bit ropey but not sure if that was a BT issue. I would thoroughly recommend it.

  • "Fantastic peaceful location with stunning views across the valley."

Spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds and tastefully done en suites. However no extra toilet rolls provided, only rental accommodation I've been where we had to buy more. Good luck with cooking as there isn't a single baking tray, bread knife or fish slice, not even the basics. No information on anything regarding the heating or rubbish.

Thank you for your feedback. The owners have advised that they will be doing a thorough check of the kitchen inventory to ensure that everything is there that should be. They will also be taking a look at the property information folder and making sure all the information is updated. Property Owner

  • "Loved our stay at Valley View."

After a week of walking the Dales Way we wanted a quiet stay in the Lakes for a few days and the property was perfect. Bathrooms and kitchen all brand new and immaculate. Everything catered for and very comfortable. Views were outstanding. Tiny issue was difficulty in working the hob as couldn't locate any instructions anywhere but got there in the end. Will certainly be returning. Thank you for a great stay.

  • "We had problems with the wi-fi which turned out to be the wrong password."

This was very quickly resolved by the owners son. Could have done with instructions for the washing machine. The windows would benefit from cleaning on the outside. Overall a truly lovely property which was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with high quality items. A real home from home.

Minor point, no information book and struggled to find the WiFi code

  • "Lovely place and perfect location for walks."

Nice and warm, had everything we needed, secluded but near pubs and shops. Some minor complaints would be finding a stick on nail in the bedroom and the smart tv not connecting to the wifi. These were outweighed by the positives and we would definitely like to return to valley view in the future.

The small Lakeland village of Troutbeck can be found between its more famous neighbours Windermere and Ambleside, close by the Kirkstone Pass. A mixture of houses, cottages and farms, the village is scattered along a narrow lane bordered by a drystone wall. Close by, the bustling towns of Windermere and Ambleside are popular with visitors, providing a range of amenities to suit all tastes. Lake Windermere offers boat trips, including the lakeside ferry to the Lakeside Aquarium and Grizedale Forest Park.
