  • "Lovely place in a lovely part of the world."

Hut had everything we could have needed, as well as playing cards, games and even wine and Kendal mint cake when we got there. Jackie made us feel at home as soon as we got there. Used as a base to explore the south of the lakes as was a quick drive in. The area closer by was also nice, such as ulverston and the barrow islands and nature reserves. Just wish we had more time to explore barrow it's self. Thanks again for a great stay!

Many thanks for your feed back .So glad you had a nice time at the Hut & glad you enjoyed our beautiful and interesting area as well as the fabulous Lake District.Kind regard Chris & Jackie Property Owner

  • "I was coming to the area to start a new job and decided to have somewhere nice and quiet for my first week until I found a more permanent arrangement."

The Pleasant Hut is aptly named. The outside: A lovely outlook, absolute quietness, total privacy, nice garden area, easy parking in courtyard. The inside: Really fresh, well equipped, quality, good double glazing, comfortable, cozy. The bed is super comfy. The ensuite is small and I am large - however it was absolutely adequate in size and I had no issues. A great shower by the way, with decent pressure. I have no negatives to speak of. The hosts were really nice and helpful. The local area has amazing views. I had a tough first week at work, but my 'digs' were superb.

Thank you for your feed back ,much appreciated.Hope you settle in to your new job in our area. Many thanks . Property Owner

  • "Our break at the Pleasant Hut was wonderful!"

Jackie met us as we arrived and welcomed us to the farm and showed us our haven for the next few days. The hut was well appointed, beautifully finished. It had everything you could need and we even got a complimentary bottled of wine (nice wine by the way!). What was not to like? The view was stunning, open fields, cows, sheep and horses, just the sound of the wind through the trees, heaven. The beach was just across the road from the farm entrance and you could walk for miles. Make no mistake, this is not a tourist destination but if you are looking for peace and relaxation this is a lovely bolt hole! I know we will come back. You could sit outside and have a fire in the fire pit and there was also a bbq if you wanted. We really had a lovely time, main point of amusement was me trying to get into bed at night, me being a short person, perhaps provide a step for diminutive people

  • "Wonderfully well appointed cottage not far from Ulverston."

We stayed in the middle of winter, and despite the typical "winter in the lakes" weather the hut was warm and cosy and such a pleasant place to relax and unsigned for the weekend. Lots of really nice touches and attention to detail, such as providing everything we needed to start the firepit, cosy decorations to make the place seem homely and everything you could possible need, including board games and tea and coffee making facilities. They also went above and beyond for self catering and provided fry light and condiments. we just had to bring food and cook! Very good communication with the owner Jackie who welcomed us in a howling gale and took us down to show us all the features of the hut. She also provided a phone number and offered to help if we were stuck with anything. A very welcoming and cosy place to stay
