"Wonderful stay in this lovely clean apartment with stunning view out to the lake."
We felt so at home and looked forward to returning every evening to relax in the warm and very comfortable living room. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need for our stay. The bedroom was spacious with a very comfortable double bed. There was a good sized bathroom with excellent shower over bath. The lift up to the flat was very quick and easy. Key collection upon arrival was smooth. Very easy walk into Ambleside (around 20 minutes) and the flat is directly opposite Ambleside Waterhead for boat trips. 10 minute drive into Bowness, 15 minutes to Grasmere, 30 minutes to Keswick. The only drawback was the car port space allocated to the flat which is very tight. On the last day I damaged my car trying to reverse out of it. Other than that, we had the most enjoyable stay and would definitely return again. Home from home.

"Beautiful apartment with stunning views over Windermere."
10 minute walk into Ambleside and there's even a bus stop outside the main entrance should you wish to take a ride to Keswick or kendal. Read a lot about the parking space being tight, we have a nissan juke and had no issues whatsoever. One gripe though only minor, there's only one toiler role which is a bit off when you're paying so much to stay in a luxury apartment. Come on, you could leave few more, going shopping on day 1 isn't on my holiday wish list. Would certainly stay here again though.

"Worth it for the view alone."
Balcony is a lovely place to sit but if it rains you can still see the view from the sofa/chair. Our second time visiting this apartment and we'd happily come back. Would suggest the provision of a kitchen spray to keep the counters clean and hygienic - every other self-catering place we stay in provides such a thing. The parking space is narrow but you can drive up another level and park in the unnumbered parking space there.

"We were at Lake View last year and 16 Romney Grange the previous 3 years However we were a little disappointed with the balcony at Lake View as some of the tiles were not only loose but could be lifted."
.. as we are both in our 70's and like Lake View but if this is not repaired by then we will cease to visit the Romney Grange site
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the balcony. We will ask our Property Services Team to look into the points raised. We hope to welcome you to the Lakes again. The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

"Photographs and write up don’t do the apartment justice."
It was everything it said and more, the apartment was spotless and the best equipped that we have ever stayed in. My wife didn’t want to leave and we are already looking at rebooking for next year
-
"A really well positioned apartment with great views."
Fully and well equipped. Storage heater chilly on first evening and instructions could be made a bit clearer. Really enjoyed stay and will be back.

"We enjoyed a very pleasant week in this 2nd floor Apartment with superb views over Windermere Waterhead Landing and as far as Langdale Pikes."
The Apartment is very well equipped with top of the range kitchen, oven and fridge/freezer. The welcome pack was very basic with no washing up liquid but we had read previous reviews and had packed supplies to last out the week. The Apartment was well heated and the bed was very comfortable. All in all, a very relaxing break after a hectic Christmas period. Bus stops outside meant that we could visit locations and go walking around Ambleside, Rydal Water, Grasmere and Bowness and the weather was kind to us.
Thank you for your feedback. As this is a self catering accommodation, washing up liquid is not provided. We are glad that you enjoyed the property and all that the area has to offer. Especially that you were able to get some good relaxing time after Christmas. Lakelovers Owner Team Property Owner

"We had an excellent stay."
The apartment was perfect for the two of us.
Thank you for your kind comments, we are glad to see you had a good holiday. Property Owner

"Views are lovely, overall we had a great stay."
It’s a shame there is a lack of thought with the essentials that are left - very limited washing up liquid, one roll of toilet roll and no hand wash/soap isn’t great. These are not things I would expect to need to bring to a holiday property.
Thank you for your comments, we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay. As the property is self catering, we do not always provide washing up liquid etc. We take all comments on board. Thank you. Property Owner

"The apartment and the location we're stunning."
The only thing I would have liked to have known before hand is that the parking was between four support posts. Would not stop us returning was just awful to park.
Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We hope to welcome you back. Property Owner

The property was brilliant, fab view, comfy bed, good facilities, just need new kitchen equipment ie frying pans and pans as they all made the cooking stick but overall great apartment

"The views from this property are spectacular."
The building is a little dated as is the bathroom in the apartment. The equipment was basic and unlike every property we have previously stayed in there were no kitchen basics ie washing up liquid, welcome pack and only one loo roll. Also no mattress protector on the bed! On the positive side, there were instructions for every appliance and information in folders about local facilities. As others have said the parking is tight but was fine for us. We were fortunate to have a discounted price for late booking but we would not pay the full price now we know the property.

"Excellent apartment with outstanding views across Lake Windermere as it's greatest attraction."
Provision of large fan much appreciated for when the sun shone. Lovely little balcony to enjoy the view from wicker chairs provided, with a glass of wine in hand. The apartment is well appointed with everything anyone would need and very comfortable and clean. The only downside is the parking bay provided is very tight to access with 4 pillars to navigate. We would however be very happy to return here.
Thanks for the wonderful review, if you feel the parking space is a bit tight, you could use the visitor bays which don't have posts. Property Owner

"The view was amazing and we loved the balcony."
We could have stayed forever just looking at the lake and mountains. Beautiful. The parking is between posts so be aware if you have a larger car. Would've like a few more cleaning products - there was no disinfectant spray for the kitchen surfaces for instance. The hoover was also not emptied from the previous use(s). Overall though a really fab apartment in a wonderful position. We will definetly stay again!

"What a wonderful place!"
I actually gasped when we opened the front door and saw the view - it was even better than I had hoped for. The flat was ideal in every way - it had everything we needed (except a tea tray) and because the weather was so good we had difficulty tearing ourselves away from the balcony, but when we did, it was an ideal location for walking, catching boats and driving to other parts of the Lake District. We would definitely like to return and friends who’ve seen our photos are interested in staying too. We’d recommend it to anyone - provided they don’t want to stay when we do!

"A comfortable apartment with fantastic views."
Check in information very detailed with further details in apartment about facilities. Parking space was a little tight as mentioned in property details. Beautiful views of the lake and a balcony to enjoy on warmer days. The bed was comfortable and sound proofing pretty good in the block, we slept well. Appreciated the request for quiet closing of heavy doors as we like a quiet place to stay. We found the apartment spacious and comfortable for two of us with all the facilities we needed. After a days walking the lift was appreciated to the 2nd floor. Well placed for walking into Ambleside for shopping, a meal out or exploring. Also an ideal base for going further in the Lake District. We kayaked on Windermere and also took a boat trip to Bowness. Other recent feedback mentioned the high price of the apartment. For a penthouse apartment with a beautiful lake view, balcony and parking we thought it was reasonable. The couple staying in the next apartment were repeat visitors to the block, having stayed in all the rental apartments.

"Excellent apartment in great location."
20 min walk into Ambleside. Everything you need for your holiday. Fish and chip shop across the road, restaurants/ cafes nearby. Great base for lovely walks

Lovely apartment with amazing views we visit every year :) shame this will probably be the last time as prices appear to have doubled for next year :(
-
"We found Lakeland View to be an excellent apartment that was clean, comfortable, well equipped, surprisingly spacious and had superb views."
We had a great week here and enjoying the balcony was a highlight. It is not accurate to describe the apartment as ‘luxury’ and the massive twenty five percent price increase for the same week next year cannot be justified and means that we will not return.
-
"Our 3rd time at 15 Lakeland View."
Blessed with good weather so the balcony was great. View is fab lucky I have a tall husband as would never reach the key in the key safe.As gorgeous as ever
-
"Would not hesitate to go back and fully intended to re book, however having looked at the phenomenal increases for the 2022 season this is now not an option."
We don’t consider the percentage increase is justified and it confirms what was written in the press that holiday letting agents are taking full advantage of the COVID crisis and bumping up prices..
-
"The appointment was described as clean & modern, this was far from correct."
Bathroom very dated with a shower valve that comes away from the wall when turning on & sealants in need of repair. Broken down glass unit in balcony window which steams up to obscure the great view. Old sofa that provides little support(very uncomfortable). Bedroom carpet that needs good clean or replacement. Spiders on the ceiling & cobwebs in abundance. Communal hallway & stairwells smelt damp & musty. Left 2days early.
-
"Very clean and covid safe environment."
A special appartment with spectacular views. Well equipped for self-catering. This is important at the moment because the immediate area offers little in the way of hospitality for non-residents.
-
"Felt completely safe and comfortable in this excellent accommodation."
-

About the location
AMBLESIDE
Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.
Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
