  • "We found the property comfortable, but felt that it would have helped if there were more saucepans and cutlery."

    The cottage was for four people, but there were five knives and 3 forks. The freezer box needed defrosting, and some of the kitchen drawers needed cleaning. Small things really, because overall the house was tastefully decorated, but these things can let you down. The owner left a contact number, which I rang, but he never picked up.

Nestled down a quiet street in Morecambe, just moments away from the hustle and bustle of the promenade, is this charming, end-of-terrace property, The Bay Cottage.

Presented to a charming standard over two floors, The Bay Cottage is an ideal base for families and friends seeking a retreat to this coastal region.

Make your way inside and be welcomed by a well-furnished lounge, where a plush sofa entices you to kick back and relax in front of the flatscreen TV.

Carry the conversation into the kitchen where you can rustle up a delicious feast with assistance from a range of appliances, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and there’s even a washing machine, so there’s no need to bring your entire wardrobe!

Serve the fruits of your labour at the dining table, toasting to a long-awaited break with your nearest and dearest.

Climb upstairs and discover the bedrooms, with the master hosting a king-size with TV whilst there is also a double.

When you’re ready to explore, everything can be found within walking distance, with the promenade resting a stone’s throw away and allow you to walk up to the delightful Whinnysty Rd Beach or down to the ruins of St Patrick’s Chapel.

Amble along the promenade until you reach the centre of Morecambe, offering a busy high street lined with independent restaurants, bars, butchers, bakers and greengrocers to pick up essentials.

Don't forget to stop by the Eric Morecambe Statue, which overlooks the promenade, and the Tern Project, a collection of outdoor artworks inspired by Morecambe Bay's wildlife.

The town of Morecambe is set on Morecambe Bay. Always a popular resort, recent investment has revived the coastline and offers families the chance to enjoy the many pleasures of the seaside, whether it is flying kites, building sandcastles or simply enjoying a stroll along the promenade. Morecambe has two large live music venues, the Platform and the Hothouse. Don’t forget to visit the Eric Morecambe Statue, which looks out across the promenade, and the Tern Project, a series of public art installations inspired by the birdlife of Morecambe Bay.
