  • "A beautifully spacious lodge with lovely decor and good quality mattresses."

We felt the kitchen could be better equipped for example there was no cheese grater which is something we needed to assist with a dish we were cooking. We found there to be lack of cupboard space for storing food also. En-suite bathroom floor felt as though it was going to fall through. The showers were like warm at best - there was instruction that were weren’t to alter the boiler settings, I found showering unpleasant at that temperature. No hairdryer - it would’ve been handy for this to be stated. We’ve stayed in three other lodges on this site and all had a hairdryer. I will be packing one in future so we’re not caught out again. In the rules it states that no glasses are to be used in the hot tub, plastic only, however no plastic cups were provided in the lodge. General cleanliness was ok however it was very dusty in places. We felt the refund of the housekeeping deposit could’ve been quicker. The owner stated up to 7 days to refund via bank transfer so we fully expected it back before 7 days as I would have thought the lodge would’ve been inspected after we departed. On the 7th day I emailed the owner requesting it back. Overall a really nice lodge and we did enjoy our stay.
