  • "Alfresco lodge was lovely."

    When we arrived it was clean and our stay was relaxed and comfy. I did feel like it lacked a few things to make it more welcoming lamps, rugs and welcome pack. Over all though we enjoyed our time there. Great place for a family. It's in a good area not far from places to visit. The site although quite big was lovely and quite and anyone we met was friendly.

  • "We enjoyed a lovely stay at Alfresco lodge."

    The property was very comfortable & adequately equipped. We were so lucky with the weather so the decking got used a lot. It has people walking past & occasional cars going to & from their lodges but as we were fairly high up it was not a problem. What a beautiful setting to stay in, watching squirrels dashing around & one time a deer appeared right outside where we sat. . The park situated on the lake was gorgeous. Some lovely sunsets there. We had problems seeing the White Cross bay signs especially at night. It should be lit better. Overall just what the doctor ordered.

  • "We had a fantastic time in Alfresco Lodge - perfect location and nearby amenities."

    The rooms are an ideal size, and the layout is very modern. The stay could only have been made better by having a stronger WiFi signal - it’s workable for WhatsApp etc, but intermittent. If you have kids it’s probably worth downloading films, tv shows, at the main entertainment area where the signal is strongest; or come pre-prepared for rainy days. Overall, highly recommend and we will definitely stay again. Family of 4 with a 2 year old and 8 month old.

  • "We've had a lovely week in Alfresco Lodge."

    The lodge itself is well laid out, open plan living space, big smart TV, well laid out spotless kitchen and even a little wine fridge was a bonus. We had the best sleep all week in the double bed, it was so comfy. The lodge is in a great location, quiet and no more than a 5 minute walk to the entertainment complex which my girls (7 & 4) loved all week. We went swimming, played in the arcade and on both play areas and they had a good dance every night to the entertainment which was great for their age. The bus stops going both directions are located just outside white cross bay which makes it easy getting places as at the height of summer it can be hard getting a parking space in bowness (especially) and Ambleside. Overall we've had the best week and will definitely be back, thank you for a fab week fully of great memories x

  • "Overall we had a fantastic stay."

    Everything we required was at the property. Property was clean, modern and comfortable. Only small point to reflect on was the layout of storage in the second bedroom, space utilisation could be improved a little in our opinion, only a small recommendation and this did not affect our stay at all.

  • "We have really enjoyed our stay at Alfresco Lodge."

    The open plan kitchen and lounge was a great comfortable space. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need. The site itself was quiet and very well located. We used the bus several times, and it was great to have the bus stop just outside the park. Good size bedrooms, allowed us to put up our travel cot in the double bedroom. The lodge was spotless and exactly as described. We would definitely book this lodge again.

  • "Great lodge, clean and comfortable."

    Some good close walks and a bus stop nearby by for a trip to Ambleside or Windermere for a variety of pubs and restaurants. Only small gripe was when we had a night in the TV wouldn't connect to Internet for apps like Netfilix etc other than that it was spot on and would definitely come back.

  • "Good lodge, great location."

    Literally 3min walk from kids park and sports court. Restaurant/bar great food, not silly prices (but not cheap). Entertainment good for young kids. Sports court great for older kids. Lodge very modern. Recently renovated I would think. All necessary facilities. Clean. Good beds. Separate toilet as well as toilet in bathroom. Would definitely stay again. Only suggestion- possible plug in air fresheners in main living area.

  • "Really lovely comfortable lodge."

    It was really nicely decorated and the beds and living area were very comfortable. The lodge was super clean and fresh and had everything we needed for our stay. The outside veranda was quite big as well which our children loved playing on of an evening.

  • "Really enjoyed our stay."

    Alfresco Lodge is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay. The decor is lovely and the beds are very comfortable as is the living room furniture. The kitchen equipment is really good quality and the fridge freezer is enormous. The Lodge is just a short walk to the lake and a short drive to everything Lake Windermere has to offer. We didn't use the buses, but there seemed to be a very good service with a bus stop right at the gate to the park. We would have no hesitation in recommending it to our friends or indeed using it again ourselves.

  • "Alfresco Lodge was absolutely perfect!"

    Like a home away from home. Having all of the same luxuries as home made our stay really comfortable. Really comfortable beds and furniture, great shower, good heating, lovely decor and immaculately clean - everything we needed! Fantastic location too! Would definitely recommend, and hope to stay again in the future!

  • "This was our seventh and final stay after touring Scotland and heading home."

    Just the two of us so the lodge was spacious, clean, warm, and comfortable, nice beds and bedding. Price was discounted. Quiet site when we stayed, just before main season. Saw pool, football and play park for youngsters, bar and terrace. So all plus points. Little downside was: would have helped to have been made aware Kirkstone Pass was closed, meant we had a long detour after an already long and tiring journey south with limited diversion signs. On arrival realised we hadn’t been given barrier code, took a while to sort out and gain access with out-of-hours security. Also no advance map of the site. So we slowly found our lodge, No tea towels, No oven cloth (tells you to pack one in arrivals info!). Three dishwasher tablets. No hand wash or toiletries. Parkdean Customer WiFi is not secure, so found a code on the router and used that (secure). But the WiFi dropped out for a day and then intermittent. This may matter for some guests. Our last day the site changed as it was the start of a bank holiday weekend. Lots more people, dog walkers, children, bikes, cars, more noise. Whilst this is not our scene any more, the site is safe and well equipped for families. Would stay again, but out of season.

Alfresco Lodge is a single-storey detached home nestled in White Cross Bay Park situated in the lovely countryside village of Troutbeck Bridge in the Lake District National Park between Windermere and Ambleside.

This delightful abode is ideal for a family or friends looking to explore the wonders of Cumbria.

Be welcomed into a characterful wood-clad property, and discover a tasteful, bright living space sporting a kitchen with a great selection of amenities to cater to your culinary needs, a dining area for indulging in a hearty meal, and a welcoming sitting room with the added ambience of a feature electric fire stove.

After a long day of exploring, settle down into the sitting area, a relaxing space with contemporary furniture and a Smart TV.

When sleep calls, two bedrooms await, one double and one twin, both with warm décor, and serviced by a bathroom with full suite and shower over bath, and a cloakroom.

When the sun is shining, head out into the raised decking and enjoy morning coffee in the sunshine or dine alfresco.

Situated near the shore of Lake Windermere, White Cross Bay offers breathtaking views of the surrounding fells.

Park Rules and Operations – White Cross Bay

White Cross Bay has its own onsite facilities. You will need to purchase a complex pass from reception which includes the use of the pool, entertainment and access to bar and restaurant. The prices are subject to change by park management.

All holiday parks are owned and managed by a separate company to ourselves. Lake District Lodge Holidays has no association with the owners of these parks or responsibility for the provision of services they offer. At certain times of year, there maybe a reduction in those services, which is outside of our control.

Commercial vehicles, caravans, camper vans, Hen or Stag parties are not permitted onsite. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and are not be left alone in the lodges at any point during your stay.

You will be staying on an operational holiday park, which means work may be undertaken from time to time by the park owners during your stay. Although Lake District Lodge Holidays will always try to inform guests in advance if something may impact on a stay and if we have prior knowledge. We cannot be held responsible or accept any liability for park operations of which are outside of our control and which we have no knowledge of.

Any issues relating to a stay at a privately owned lodge should be reported back through Lake District Lodge Holidays as the park are not responsible for managing the lodge or booking for private sublet guests during their stay.
