Everything worked and was very clean, had everything we needed and more. Very comfortable, a proper home from home. Loved the quiet position and the views. Our little dog loved the outside. The orange juice and milk was a lovely touch. We met the owner on the day we left, she was so nice and helpful. We cant wait to book again and have already recommended it to friends.

  • "The complex felt very safe and the lodge was clean and well presented."

The decor was nice and the lodge felt as though it was situated in a private part of the complex. We were delighted to find that there was an enclosed dog field a short walk away from the lodge where all dogs can be let off lead for a good run around. There were clean towels provided for all guests, and the beds were made up nicely. There was a sponge with tea towels and complimentary milk in the fridge on arrival! The bath and shower were both great with hot water and heating was available to turn up/down as and when we wanted. The heating was very good and responsive! We were 4 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs (with 2 dog crates) and had plenty of space! If I had a couple of requests, it would be for more hangers in the wardrobe as we were staying a week and there were only a few hangers for 2 adults in one room. Also, it would have been nice to have a spare bedding available to allow for a change of sheets during the week if wanted or in case of any issues. Perfect location for anywhere in the lakes you want to visit. Different places we travelled to were Ullswater (30 mins), Grasmere (18mins), Windermere (10mins), Ambleside (10mins), Derwent Water (50mins). We would definitely stay here again, it was ideal! There was a nice family pub on site too (The Haybarn) a 1 minute walk away from the lodge. We ate there on a few nights as it was so convenient and delicious too! There was a washing machine in the lodge so take some washing tablets if you fancied keeping up with any washing after hiking days out, etc. There are many books there and some family games, which was a nice touch. There was a smart TV with access to Netflix and Prime if you have your log ins to memory. Free WiFi, which gave us no issues and was a god send with the kids! We did have to call the owner when we got there but after turning the dongle off and on, it connected and worked fine for the rest of the stay. The decking part of the lodge was nice too with gates to keep it an enclosed area - nice and easy for the dogs when they needed fresh air without worry they would escape. Overall, we would all highly recommend this stay.

Only comment for improvement from older parents was a lack of shelf in the ensuite shower for toiletries. Lots of storage, good heating if needed & plenty of dvds, games & books provided if weather turns. Lodge is well positioned with lovely views & surrounded by bird & wildlife & strolling distance to the onsite pub/ restaurant. Would definitely book again as a peaceful base for a family get together.

It was super comfortable and not overlooked at all with beautiful views. Great telly and facilities. We were a little disappointed the some of the side lights needed bulbs in the bedrooms and the windows / exterior could do with a clean but overall we loved it and hopefully will be back again. Would recommend staying here, location is perfect for travelling to and from including the lovely Queens Head pub which is literally a 3 min drive away.

The lodge Is situated at the back of park in a private location with no traffic passing by. Although the weather was terrible we were cosy. Everything you could possibly need. Just a couple of points - vacuum smelt like sick, we bought new bags and air freshener for hoover, still smelt, the rug in the lounge would benefit from a shampoo too and the outside light didn’t work up to front door which reading comments in guest book had been case for a while - although there was a torch provided.
