  • "Comfy lodge, lovely squishy sofa, comfortable bed, good powerful hot shower, compact kitchen but everything you need."

The downside with did slightly spoil our stay was upon arrival there was a very large puddle directly outside the lodge, this was approx 12ft by 8ft, on the second afternoon on our return(on one of the warmest weeks we have had for months,) the lodger was extremely hot, over 30 degrees, we opened the patio doors and windows then we could smell a very unpleasant drain/sewerage smell, to unpleasant to use the sitting room, so the next three afternoons and evenings we had to sit in the bedroom at the back of the lodge with the window open. We reported the problem to Parkdene twice and nothing was done, we rang reception to check if they would do anything and were tole, 'we are aware of the issue, it fills up and eventually dries up,!'...not helpfull when you are staying whilst the large puddle is there. We have stayed in several lodges over the years but never on a parkdene site, it was not our cup of tea....lodges were very close together, not much privacy and I don't think they are bothered about there customers stay.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that you found the lodge to be comfy, and equipped with everything you needed. We apologise for the inconvenience that you experienced in regards to the puddle, and would like to add that as it is the parks property, we are not responsible but will pass on your comments. • "The lodge itself was nice, clean and comfortable, however, the staying in and leaving the property rules seemed to feel like you are in an army service and not on holiday."

you have to tidy up the lodge ( which is absolutely acceptable ) but not only that you have to put everything as you found them ! wash up the plates and cutleries and return them to the cupboards! remove all the beddings and place them in the provided laundry bag or in a pile in the bathroom, and of course take your rubbish away on leaving. don't forget to take extra soap and toilet rolls otherwise you would have to manage without that !! thats all is what you have to be aware despite the fact that you pay so much money for the rent!!

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that the lodge was clean and comfy. We take all comments on board, and we will look at the information provided. As the property is self catering such items as extra soap etc are not always provided. Thank you- The Lake District Lodge Holidays Owner Relations Team Property Owner

  • "Lovely lodge, comfortable and had everything we needed really."

Did note that there was no pole to open the skylight or close the shutter on it as we found it would get warm & stuffy during the day while we were out however once we opened the patio doors it soon cleared so not much of an issue. The lodge was clean & tidy throughout although the en-suite shower had black and pink mould on the tiles and round the door runner. The kitchen sink trap/grating also looked disgusting and I really feel this let your cleaners down, like they've never been cleaned. I bought a cheap product to quickly spray these with and it removed most of the pink mould (I have before & after photos) however the doors will need taking off and shower area thoroughly steam cleaned. The shower screen in the main bathroom is broken/too short and water ends up everywhere so may need replaced. All in all, a gorgeous lodge and I would stay again. Very quiet and relaxing site, suited to people without children.

Thank you for your comments. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Dodd Fell Lodge. We take your comments on board, and we will ask our Housekeeping Teams to ensure that our high standards continue to be met. We will also ask our Maintenance Team to look at the shower door. We hope to welcome you again. The Lake District Lodge Holidays Owner Relations Team Property Owner

  • "Overall the property is very comfortable and tidy the only problem is that there is a lack of instruction books especially for the gas oven and hob."

As we are all electric at home we had to ask someone on how to operate the appliance. Also we were unsure how to use cental heating as it was coming on in the middle of the night .Other than that we had a fantastic holiday in the lakes.

Many thanks for taking the time to submit your valued feedback. We apologise for the inconvenience caused through lack of appliance instructions being supplied and will certainly look into providing these for future guests. We look forward to welcoming you back should you decide to visit again in the future. Property Owner
