  • "We enjoyed a lovely stay at Footprints Lodge."

It was everything we wanted and needed - warm and comfortable. The hot tub was an extra treat which was very much enjoyed after a day of hill walking! The lodge was clean and spacious. I would not hesitate to book this lodge again.

  • "This was our third time at White Cross Bay and we stayed for a week at the end of August (unfortunately a very rainy week…."

Great British weather!) The lodge itself however was lovely and had everything we needed. It was smaller than previous lodges we’ve stayed in but this didn’t matter as it had a really cosy feel to it. Hot tub also a great perk. Our only criticism would be the outside area, it is completely shaded and the decking was extremely slippy (the kids slipped multiple times). In the event there was sun, it wouldn't have been on the outside area which unfortunately would prevent us from returning in the summer months. A great stay on this occasion though.

  • "This is a lovely cosy and well equipped lodge, well maintained and lovely decor, in a perfect location."

There is plenty of space and it is lovely and clean. The host was very helpful and rang me straight back with a query I had. The decking would have benefited from a quick sweep and being jetwashed, but it wasn't an issue, just an observation.

  • "The facilities over all was good, however when we arrived there was a very floaty smell to the living room and bedrooms."

I went and purchased air freshener and a scented candle. I’ve also never stayed at a lodge before where we have never had towels provided, especially when paying so much for a stay. The lodge also had a BBQ, which had a set of rules about using it, keeping it clean and tidy. We did plan on using the bbq, but after removing the bird fecies cover, the actual grill itself was disgusting and way beyond needing a while down. The lodge has great potential but dose require some general Maintanance.

The lodge was beautiful, so clean, comfortable and modern. The hot tub was amazing and if it hadn't rained every day we would have loved to have used the outside area more. This gives us the perfect excuse to visit again in the summer.

There was 6 of us in our party, there was plenty of space. When we had a problem with the boiler the owner sent a plumber to fix the same day. The hot tub was amazing after a day's walking. Would highly recommend.

Hot tub was a great addition although unfortunately as it was thunderstorms and rain most of our stay we didn’t get to use it as much as we would have liked. Would 100% recommend and hope to return in better weather.

Absolutely beautiful lodge, we had a great stay, beds are amazingly comfortable and lodge was clean, hot tub was lovely, the only thing I would suggest Is having a clothes airer in the lodge, as the lake district can get very wet and there's not many places to dry your clothes particularly if there is 6 people staying there

Thank you for your kind comments, we are glad to hear that you had a lovely stay. We take all comments on board. We hope to welcome you back. The Lakes Cottage Holidays Owner Relations Team Property Owner

  • "First off we had a very enjoyable stay."

The lodge was lovely. Beds were very comfy and the lodge had everything we needed apart from towels. The add said we needed to bring tea towels and beach towels, which we did. However, when we got there, there was a pile of towels on the kitchen table which the cleaner removed so there were no bath towels either. The wifi was patchy at best. No doubt due to the area (booster required?). Lastly it could have been cleaner. In a post covid age, the lodge appeared clean but didn’t stand up to closer inspection. Very dusty in places. The entire change over clean was done by one lady I. Less than 2 hours. It didn’t spoil our stay and overall we had a great time.

  • "It was pretty poor for the price."

The shower on the on suite kept blocking and overflowing. The decking could have done with a good clean . The kitchen sink tapes were really strange the Internet was terrible and we had to go out to get better reception overall very disappointed - sorry

Many thanks for your feedback and so sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay as much as we would have liked you to. We will look into your comments regarding the shower in the en-suite bathroom. Regarding the decking, we are in a woodland setting and although we do clean the decking regularly, it is impossible to keep it without leaves and tree debris 100% of the time. Being in the woodland setting is part of Footprints Lodge's charm. The internet is provided free of charge for the site and we have paid for an additional connection for the lodge. Unfortunately we cannot control the strength of the signal but the park have assured us that an upgrade is being carried out. Property Owner

  • "Footprints Lodge was well equipped to a high standard in a quite location but within easy reach of all the parks facilities."

The interior it's self again was excellent not at all worn or dated. The outside had a barbeque, plenty of seating and a hot tub that was heated through out the day. The only improvement would be if the overhanging branches were cut back to allow more sun light through. On a completely separate note we ate once at the parks club house, the food was awful, dry and over cooked with music uncomfortably load. Less than a mile down the road from the site along a foot path is "The Sun Inn" serving excellent pub grub with a lovely welcoming atmosphere.

  • "We have had a great week at Footprints lodge."

Everything you need and furnished to a very high standard. Didn't feel that the Lodge was as clean on arrival as it could be but maybe our standards are just very high . Also I wouldn't say the campsite is 5* but the lodge certainly is . It would be nice to have a full infantry on your booking as we took irons hairdryers etc but it was all there. The hot Tub was a great addition although we were unaware that a man came everyday to check it so we rang the number in the book . Perhaps putting that in the book would be useful. Also the decking was very dirty and could do with a good power wash. Towels would also be useful even if you had the option to pay for a package. Nearest large supermarket is Kendal about 8 Miles away (Tesco Morrisons and Sainsbury ) so an online shop would benefit . We were disappointed that although back to normal after Covid, the swimming pool wasn't open later but not a real major issue . Overall we had a superb time and even climbed Scarfell Pike. We would certainly go back . We will certainly recommend this lodge to anyone and very central for most things.

There were a couple of observations that could be made about White Cross Bay / Parkdean facilities: 1. The bar shut at 2100hrs 2. The gym & swimming pool were chargeable at £15.00 extra and shut at 1600hrs, so not worth participating with. Still a great holiday though

  • "The lodge was very nice and well equipped."

The furniture was comfortable and convenient. The hot tub was very nice. Overall, you can tell that there’s a genuine interest of the owner in providing a good experience to guests. On the negative side, 2 things: The Internet connection was very bad, which is disappointing. The temperature of the lodge was a bit low, and because they use a centralized system to save money, we could not have a comfortable temperature in the bedrooms.
