  • "Lovely lodge very comfortable after a day out very warm and cosy of an evening when curtains are closed husband enjoyed the big tv and sky was a plus so he was happy."

Plenty room for everyone even our little dog was happy with dog bed and toys, If I could make a suggestion a new set of pans and en-suite shower head needs a good clean but it did not affect our holiday so please don’t take it the wrong way as we did feel very relaxed hope to book again thank you

The lounge was very open and bedrooms excellent sizes.Would definitely book again. Sky was a big bonus on wet day and oven very good to use. Only 2 minor points. Shower in bathroom not great in terms of pressure temperature and very sensitive when turning tap. The decking outside front door when wet extremely slippy as slipped twice.

  • "We've stayed in several lodges at White Cross Bay and found this to be our favourite so far."

The layout and location on site very good. The only negative comments concern the cleaning of the entrance matting inside that contained lots of dog hairs not cleaned away. We tried to clean it ourselves with the vacuum cleaner but it would not get them out. Also the nooks and crannies in bathroom showing remnants of dirt and hair etc. There was a problem with the shower diverter in the bathroom that was faulty. Otherwise nice lodge to stay in. Would use it again.

  • "Lovely lodge, in a fabulous setting."

However, the lodge needs a refresh, as it is looking tired. A good deep clean and some of the furniture renewing would help too resolve this. Some of the decking boards were loose and the whole of the decking area lethal when wet. We couldn't sit on some of the outdoor furniture as it was split. For the price we paid I don't feel this was value for money. If the location wasn't so lovely we would have been extremely disappointed.

We could not believe how spacious and homely the lodge was: we were so pleased to have found it. The lounge contained 2 three seater sofas, which were very comfortable, an ample dining table and chairs and a well equipped kitchen. The 3 bedrooms were comfortable with very clean bedding and shower and bath facilities. We highly recommend this property and would love to visit again in the future. Thank you for allowing us to use your lovely home from home. Ps Slight issue with the carbon monoxide alarm in the hall. Made ticking noise in middle of the night. Eventually rectified after pressing the test button. Possibly needs your attention

A few little things need attention , I cleaned the shower cubicle in the en suite as there was quite alot of gunge built up on the bottom rail of the shower screen . The mattress on the double bed is really firm so didn't really sleep well . The rail adjoining the gate is rotten and was held on with insulating tape so not safe . We couldn't get sky Tv on as we couldn't find any instructions but not a big issue . We would still like to return though , lovley quiet site with beautiful views over the lake . Thank you

Ladylandless lodge was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The only niggles were the TV remote was missing from one twin room and didn’t work in the double room, so there were 2 TVs we couldn’t use. There were no instructions on how to use anything so we couldn’t get the heating to come on in the morning and my 83 year old dad was complaining of being cold.

Thank you for your comments. We are sorry to hear of the issues that you found in trying to get through to Sykes, we will pass on your comments to the relevant teams. The lodge was huge but cosy too. It was clean and welcoming. Lovely to have the lights on when we arrived. Just a couple of tiny suggestions. The kitchen could do with a pair of scissors and a measuring jug. Both the front door and patio doors difficult to open but all in all a well equipped lodge and a lovely break. Would definitely stay again Thank you.

  • "Comfortable and spacious lodge in a great location for exploring the surrounding area."

Close proximity to the beautiful lake shore. Cleanliness of the property was disappointing - visible hairs on the bathroom floor, did not look clean and kitchen floor also needed cleaning as it was sticky. We like to keep our holiday premises clean during our stay but the hoover did not hold any charge and could not be used. Decking - noted signs of many repairs and there were three large screws left lying on the decking resulting in our dog picking one up and us fighting to get it out of his mouth. Awful damp smell in master bedroom and en-suite bathroom on arrival … had to leave windows on lock and fan on to clear. No instructions for Sky TV or WiFi - this would have been helpful. Left hand side double doors to decking - one has dropped making it extremely difficult to lock once opened. Washing machine would be a great addition. One of the couches was a bit worn but still comfortable. Sadly after a lovely week away we were disappointed and surprised to be accused of damage to a chair leg that was actually present when we arrived! Suggest future guests inspect the property and photograph all damage on arrival … sadly this is the first time we have used LDLH and naively we did not realise that we needed to cover our backs in this way.

  • "Lovely lodge, quiet location."

Some earlier reviews suggest hot water is slow. We did not find this an issue at all. Our only negatives are the wifi, didn’t work at all despite password being included in the email before arrival, there were no Welcome Notes, which we have had in other places stayed at, so no explanation about anything, only 3 table mats between 5 of us, there were still no oven trays (commented on by earlier guest) so excuse to go to Lakeland shop and buy our own, and no oven glove. But those minor issues did not detract from a lovely stay in a lovely location. Thank you!

Thank you for your feedback. The WiFi is supplied by the park and we are not held liable for it's strength or speed. The lodge binders are being put back into the lodges soon. • "The lodge itself was lovely."

Very clean. However there were a few gripes. On arrival one of the beds was not made up - the fitted sheet was missing (no mattress protectors on any of the beds which was surprising) so I had to ring the number provided to get it sorted which it was within a couple of hours. We found it strange that there was a collection of DVDs but nothing to play them on? The parasol on the outside furniture was missing- we managed without but some may not. We understood that there was limited WI-FI but this was incorrect- there was NO Wi-Fi at all as there was no internet connection. Again we managed but had to use our data. The duvets on the beds were extremely thin - we were lucky that the weather was hot - any cooler and we would have been cold in bed. Also the double doors to the decking are very hard to lock - you have to make sure they are lined up properly I read this in a previous review but obviously nothing has been done to fix them. It’s a shame I have had to mention these points as they are all things that could easily be remedied by the owners. One last point- although the holiday park itself is in a lovely lakeside setting I would not return. The service in the bar/restaurant was appalling. We used the app to pay for drinks but ended up going to the bar 25 minutes later anyway to discover our drinks hadn’t even been made. on our last day we decided to treat ourselves to breakfast before we left only to be told “no breakfasts today. There’s no food until 5.30”. No apology. We didn’t use the pool so cannot comment on the facilities there.

We are sorry to hear of the issues you encountered, we will pass your comments across to our maintenance team who will look into them. The WiFi is supplied by the park and we are not held liable for it's strength or speed. Noting the issues you had with the park, we will pass this across to the Park Management. Lady Landless However there 3 issues we incurred, firstly the main door was hard to lock we were concerned it may break and we either could not get in or would have to leave unlocked we therefore had to contact Sykes cottages to come out which they did 2 hours later as agreed they made a temporary fix however this may need further work. The Duvets were disappointing as only 4.5 tog which were far to cold for this time of year my partner mentioned this to Sykes and they did say some duvets would be provided however these never came. Therefore we were cold during the night. The third thing were supplies we were surprised no extra toilet rolls and very little washingup liquid no tea or coffee and altough a bonus no bottle of wine or biscuits on arrival. We have stayed in many holiday homes around the country it is quite expensive especially during the main season. The little extras would have made a huge difference. Kind regards Jenny

Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay. We take all your comments onboard and they will be looked into, we are glad we were able to temporarily fix the door lock for you and this will be fully resolved soon. We are sorry to hear you were not fully comfortable with the beds and did not receive further duvets, we have looked into this and cannot see this request. However, we will look into how we can resolve this better if it comes up again. Lady Landless is a self-catering lodge and all our guests are provided with a starter pack, it is then down to the guests to purchase enough toilet rolls, washing up liquid etc to see you through your stay. Please do accept our apologies for any inconvenience these matters caused. We do take all feedback very seriously and it would be our pleasure to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

We loved the lodge it was lovely and clean and very spacious BUT the hot water was terrible, you had to run the shower and taps for ages to get any hot water then it was a rush to wash your hair and yourself in 30 seconds before it went ice cold, we tried a bath and only got less than an inch of hot water this was for the full week, if this was addressed then perfect lodge , perfect area and lovely camp

Thank you for the review, Mrs Adamson. We are sorry to hear you had trouble with the hot water. The owner has contacted us since your stay to advise that the taps need to be left running for about 5 minutes for the hot water to come through. We are sorry that this was not communicated to you sooner. Had you let us know at the time we would have resolved this for you. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. As a result of your experience the owner has decided to put a note in the lodge to advise future guests. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.
