  • "Langdale View."

A very good location for a quiet and peaceful stay with lots of lovely nearby places to visit and explore (Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere and so much more). The next comments are not complaints but as regular travellers we hope they will help for future guests. The owners are very prompt and helpful with any issues. Recommendations - Message boards in hall need updating (especially phone numbers) No instruction booklet in lounge for heating, hot water, etc. The shower in the room with bath (we could not get hot). The door from lounge to patio unable to open. Object a little to having to strip beds on leaving (surely a covid thing). Thanks for a pleasant stay - Blewett family.

The property

Once part of a Windermere gentlemen’s residence, this charming property is close to the shores of Lake Windermere.

Langdale View, as its name suggests, enjoys fabulous views of the famous Pikes and has been cleverly designed to take full advantage of its setting. A private drive leads to this and just two other properties, with guests of Langdale View enjoying private parking for two cars.

A large entrance hall offers plenty of storage space for coats and boots, and benefits from a useful cloakroom with washbasin and wc.

The ground floor sitting room is a wonderfully light space with lots of room for guests to spread out and relax.

Welcoming sofas, a large bay window and patio doors leading out onto the terrace make this room very special.

The kitchen comes with a generous dining area and is equipped with everything a large party might need to prepare a hearty breakfast before a day on the water, Sunday lunch or evening meal. On the first floor are three of the property’s four bedrooms.

A gorgeous double with stunning views of the Langdale Pikes and an en-suite power shower room, and two twin bedded rooms, both with fabulous views and their own en-suite facilities.

The first has an en-suite power shower room and the second has an en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath.

The loft suite is up a final flight of stairs.

Not only does this room have its own en-suite, but also a separate living space and terrace.

Who wouldn’t enjoy an al-fresco breakfast with superb views like these? Windermere itself is a lively village with a fine variety of shops, restaurants and bars.

Guests are within walking distance of a fabulous quirky cinema, independent boutiques and local theatre, as well as lake cruises, boat hire and a range of water sports.

There is most certainly something to please everyone in your group.

Please note- Guests must park the cars (max 2) in front of the middle garage. The other 2 garages are for residents of the other properties. Parking anywhere else restricts the access for the bin lorry.
Please note: The access area leading up to Langdale View is a little unkempt due to the storms however, this is no reflection on the property and is out of the control of the owner.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
