  • "The lodge was really nice and we had a lovely few days staying there!"

It made an excellent base for us to explore the area, we didn’t use the facilities at White Cross Bay and so can’t comment on that. The only negatives with the lodge for us were; 1. The bed wasn’t that comfortable (in our opinion). It was very hard and felt like sleeping on a floor! I know others have mentioned how comfy the beds were and so I think this is just down to personal preference. 2. There was a bit of a funny smell in the living/kitchen area. We thought it may have been from cooking from the previous guests the night before but it remained the entire time during our stay. Other than the above, the lodge was lovely, clean and modern, super quiet and we very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. The owners have taken on board your comments with regards to the mattress & have purchased a new mattress topper, pleased that you had an enjoyable stay. However we do find that bedding and mattresses are down to personal preference. We take all comments on board. Thank you The Lake District Owner Lodge Holidays Relations Team Property Owner

  • "Mere Brook Lodge made for the best base for us to experience and travel around Windermere."

The Lodge was spotless and had everything we needed. The shower was powerful and hot! The beds were comfy and we were able to easily cook for ourselves when we wanted (or had the energy!), and the lounge area was homely and relaxing. We had a very busy week and the lodge gave us everything we needed at the top and tail of each day. I couldn't recommend it enough. We didn't really experience White Cross Bay Park itself as we were too busy exploring the wider area, but it seemed clean and tidy enough. The only two things I would say it was lacking safe places to secure bikes about the park, and some more information about the refuse and recycling facilities wouldn't have gone a miss.

  • "Me my 10yr old son and my parents had a fantastic stay at Mere Brook Lodge the owners have thought of everything needed to have a comfortable stay it is a home from home."

Well equipped and spotlessly clean so 5* to the lodge and the whole process from booking to checkout was so easy so 5* also to Sykes. The lodge is situated in beautiful woodland within White Cross Bay Holiday Park which overall is stunning being situated right on Lake Windemere. My only negative was the layout of the main entertainment complex run by Parkdean those who do not like holiday park type holidays should avoid the entertainment area as it can be very noisy. The restaurant eating area would be far better if it was seperste from the entertainment area for those wishing to enjoy a chilled out meal or drink without being snobby the standard of the overall park and lodges is a level above the Parkdean complex but i realise it does provide a service some will enjoy especially those with young children.Overall i would recommend White Cross Bay and especially Mere Brook Lodge.

  • "Really clean and well appointed property, we had a lovely 5 days break in Mere Brook Lodge."

The beds are really comfy, the shower is amazing and there was just enough room for our family of 4. Our eldest kept saying how grateful she was that the owners rented their cabin out so we could stay in it (we meant to write that in the visitors book but by the time I remembered, we were all packed and ready to leave and I didn't have a pen!). The cabin is situated on a densely packed holiday resort. Standards are obviously high - there are a lot of (very beautiful) slate signs dotted around with instructions on how to keep the place looking immaculate. There are a lot of ornaments in the property which we needed to move out of the way of our toddler - I was very worried she might accidentally break something but actually it was find. Thank you for a lovely stay. It was just the break we needed.

  • "The property was modern, very well maintained, and clean."

I liked how it wasn’t overlooked by other lodges and it felt quite private. The only thing I feel could improve the property would be the inclusion of a hot tub.

Thank you for the review Mr Martz and letting us know you enjoyed your stay. This is a beautifully presented two bedroom lodge and a great choice for a stay in the Lakes. Noting your suggestion for a hot tub, we can tell you that although the owners would love to add one, the park will not allow any new hot tubs to be installed due to issues with water pressure onsite. That said, should this be resolved we are sure the owners will be keen to install one. We are delighted that you otherwise enjoyed your stay and we hope to welcome you again soon. Property Owner
