Only a few things that could have been better was the cleaning of the property, shower in en suite was quite grubby and was leaking, towel rails was dusty and so was skirting in both bathrooms. The whole place just needs a good hoover, I hoovered before we left.

The en-suite bathroom needed a deep clean. It had a toilet brush holder with faeces and the shower was full of dirt and mildew. The cutlery still had food on it. The plates were chipped. The floor was filthy. It really affected our stay and needed the feedback

The deck was large and the hot tub was great to have, especially after a long day walking. Inside the lodge was clean and tidy with everything that you needed. The only points I felt that could be improved given the amount you are paying is the quality of some of the utensils which were worn and the kettle / toaster. The kettle would not stay on and kept switching off until you found out the knack! The toaster was very poor and has certainly seen better days. The site itself is really lovely. There are great walks from the site if you go to the pub and start behind there. The dog field was brilliant especially when the fighter jets went over.

  • "The property was generally ok, but the property could have done with a really good clean, we left the property cleaner than we received it."

One of the large paving slabs which are used for the steps down to the property was broken in to three pieces, this is an accident waiting to happen, this should have been repaired prior to our visit, I feel this has been broken for while. The en-suite showers shower head riser was found to be broken but just usable, several of the fixtures are loose, ie.. toilet roll holders, the window in the main bedroom was open when we arrived, I just thought this was just for some ventilation but when I tried to close it, it wouldn’t, the window needs adjusting, I did manage to close it by lifting the opening window slightly but near opened again for security of the property. The lodge could benefit from some simple maintenance, but it was well equipped with the essential kitchen items and other items like a hairdryer. The general experience was ok, Limefitt is classed as a 5* park which in the main is a 4* at best, as stated above the property needs some work and the cleaning could have been much better prior to our arrival. My final point is the Pub which is on site, I do realise this isn’t the responsibility of the lodge owner but feel you need to be made aware, we went for a meal on the first night and to be blunt the food was the worst I’ve ever had…… the pub it self is lovely and traditional and the staff friendly, but for the money we paid was absolutely shocking! We ordered a very simple Steak and ale pie with mash and veg, this meal must have been made previously and just microwaved, the mash didn’t even taste like mash, Parkdean need to change this, some simple changes could have a massive impact and make it somewhere holiday makers go more than once. Good food is not hard to make!

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Troutbeck Lodge."

The hot tub was wonderful and a lovely treat after walking. The bed was really comfy. The location of the lodge was great, overlooking the beck and a field. However, it really needs a good clean. I had to clean the patio doors on arrival as they were badly smeared. I then had to wipe someone else’s hairs off the toilet seat before using and as for the toilet brushes, well they just need replacing. The heaters all need a vacuum cleaner using, to take off the layers of very visible dust inside them. The en-suite shower cubicle needs refreshing. The cleaning element is a shame as the park was really quiet (in March) and we did enjoy our stay. There just needs to be more attention to detail rather than a quick whizz around, which is how it appeared to us. One final note - the steps down to the lodge from the parking are in need of repair and are very uneven. Unfortunately for me I had to carry our elderly dog up and down each time and I would not advise anyone doing this.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We are sorry that the cleaning was not up to standard. Please be assured that this has been brought to our housekeeping teams attention. We are glad that you did enjoy your stay at Troutbeck Lodge and were able to use the hot tub. Lake District Lodge Holidays Owner Team Property Owner

The owners have thought of everything! Well stocked kitchen and in the cupboard in the main bedroom we found a hoover, mop, iron and hairdryer. Fantastic location with stunning views overlooking the beck with snow capped mountains in the distance. STUNNING! Great amenities on site, our dogs enjoyed playing in the dog field although it was a shame it wasn’t as secure as it could’ve been with fences down and gaps under the gate. If you love wildlife and birdwatching you will love it here the lodge was the perfect spot for relaxing and watching the birds. We also saw deer nearby. The hot tub was a wonderful addition to the lodge. One small criticism would be there is no handrail down the steps to the lodge. We arrived in the dark and in the rain and we found the slate steps a little slippery. We would definitely return, thank you! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars from us!

On arrival we were very dissapointed with the cleaning of the lodge - I had brought dettol wipes which was a good job. Things like handles and kitchen work tops all key areas were not that clean. Then in the main bedroom the bedding had stains and footprints on! I did ring the number provided and this was replaced the next morning. However who would put that on there in the 1st place thinking it wouldn't be noticed or was acceptable! Anyways after that we had a lovely relaxing week. Mixed bag of weather but still able to do some of our favourite walks and even managed to shelter in the near by pubs a couple of times. The Queens is a gorgeous pub with a really warm friendly feel and the food is amazing. The lodge itself is in a lovely quiet spot, it has everything inc a bottle opener, tin opener, saw an iron lol. The hot tub was checked every day and was lovely after a soggy walk.

Hot tub, lodge facilities and location all fantastic! Grateful for plentiful cleaning supplies provided so helpful in keeping the lodge clean and tidy. Cleaners could do with doing all the high ceilings and corners of bedrooms etc for the odd cobweb that type of thing but that really is being picky- overall it was very clean and homely. Very clean and modern. We've stayed at Limefitt a few times and this is by far the best lodge we've stayed in. Great position, next to the Beck. Gets sun all day long on the deck (when its sunny!) and its so relaxing sitting with the patio doors open listening to the water. Large fridge/freezer, plenty of storage space for our food, lots of crockery and cutlery and its own wifi router (which is very important because wifi is poor generally around the park). Overall an enjoyable stay however, the cleanliness of the lodge was not to a high standard, especially in the bathrooms ( toilets mainly) The mattress in the master bedroom was uncomfortable. What we found most disappointing was our hot tub experience ( the main reason we chose this particular lodge) having stayed many times at other parks/ lodges with hot tubs it soon became clear it was not working properly ( jets not working properly, dropping in temperature, error code?) We noticed this on the first night and informed the letting agency first thing the next morning. Unfortunately other than being told someone would come out to look at it , we didn't receive any other feedback. The hot tub continued not to work properly for the duration of the holiday and therefore could not use it which was a let down. When paying a premium price for a holiday you expect a premium experience.

Well equipped & clean . . . . and certainly one of the loveliest lodges on the spacious site. The steps down to the lodge, however, are treacherous, particularly in the dark. Having fallen on the steps when first arrived, the planned walking holiday didn't happen and am still suffering the effects of a sprained ankle over 3 weeks later. Being young, fit & healthy and not been able to get out running since, as even walking is difficult, is particularly disappointing. The security lights do not illuminate the steps adequately in order to see where one is treading. With stunning views, this beautifully presented lodge with hot tub is a popular place to stay. Noting you would love to return next summer please do keep an eye on our website as the prices have not been set yet for 2022. The prices are being reviewed and you should see changes over the coming weeks. Please also note that the weekly price is only available for a Friday arrival, in other words should you wish to book a week stay it is cheaper to book from a Friday to Friday. The owners are keen to offer good quality accommodation at a competitive price and that is what we intend to do. Thank you for letting us know you enjoyed your stay and we do hope we welcome you again next summer. Property Owner

  • "A wonderful week in Troutbeck Lodge - helped by the heatwave!"

The accommodation was clean and comfortable and in such a lovely setting. Limefitt Park was very quiet and peaceful, and the location of the lodge at the bottom of the hill, right next to the stream was ideal - we spent many an afternoon enjoying sitting on the comfy deck furniture listening to the brook, the ducks and the sheep on the other bank. All the facilities in the lodge were in great condition. Would totally recommend. The directions to the lodge were inaccurate - but look out for the Breckside street sign and number 6 is the second on the right. Also there are 2 key safes, so you need the one by the hot tub - we only found the one by the patio doors to start with, which has a different code!

Thank you for your feedback. We are so pleased to hear of how much you enjoyed your stay especially during the heatwave. We will look into the directions, thank you for bringing this to our attention. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back. Property Owner

  • "We have visited this park three times now and love the location ."

Troutbeck lodge was perfect situated next to the river and very comfortable and clean accommodation . However sadly the price is double for the same time next year so unlikely we could come back , I am not sure how that can be justified ?

Thank you for your review and happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. Noting you would like to return next year, as yet the short break prices have not been released however due to the high demand this will be done soon. On that note, please do take another look in the next few weeks as we'd be delighted to welcome you again. Property Owner
