  • "Attractive property with very good amenities."

The living area was comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped. Nice wood-burning stove was much appreciated for our Autumn stay. Staveley is a great base for access to both Kendal and the Lakes,

  • "The cottage is located between Kendal and Windermere which makes it ideal for exploring the area."

It has good public transport links and trains run once an hour. It is well equipped but if you want to cook bring all the basics such as salt, pepper, oil, spices or purchase them locally as there are none. There is car parking that is shared with the neighbours but it could be a struggle for a very large car. The front door is difficult to unlock and open. The bedroom could do with hoovering up some cobwebs on walls and ceilings. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend this cottage.

  • "The TV didn't always start and had to be disconnected, powered down and then it worked."

The toilet flush did not always clear the bowl and a bucket from downstairs was used. The bathroom fan is very noisy and was switched off for the duration of our stay

We are sorry to hear that you had any issues with your stay. Like all technology sometimes the tv will require a reboot. As for the toilet, we are surprised to hear of any problems as we had an owner booking the following weekend without issue - however, there is a maintenance service always available. The fan is powerful as it is an internal bathroom, however, it can be isolated as and when required. Ultimately, we do hope that you had a wonderful holiday to a spectacular part of the world. • "The FreeSat box did not work and the radio proved to be non-operational."

However, the WiFi was effective and the cottage generally well equipped. Only one toilet roll and no spare provided which was disappointing. Generally quite pleased with our stay and the bed was both large and comfortable. Would have liked better guidance on re-cycling options. A nice place to stay although parking under the large tree saw our car coated with guano most mornings (not much can be done about this!).

It sounds like the information folder wasn't obvious which describes how to use the TV, Freesat box is only needed for "on demand" internet TV and also describes full recycling opportunities. We will speak to housekeeping around the single toilet roll. The off-street parking is under a tree but does suffer from bird droppings. I hope none of this affected the enjoyment of your visit. • "The accommodation was good."

It was clean but not spotless. Lounge sofa was ok but being a sofa bed and from past experiences they are never the most comfortable. The bathroom was compact, and would benefit from a shower curtain rather than a screen as access to taps and shower was very limited. One other issue was the shared garden access, which at times got quite busy, which wasn’t mentioned in the cottage description.

Thank you for your feedback and we hope you enjoyed your stay. We are sorry to hear that the path to next door was busy during your stay, the information however can be found within the house description. We always endeavour to make the property the best it can be but unfortunately cannot cater for individual preferences or alter structural elements. Your comments regarding bathroom tap access is noted and options will be considered. Property Owner

Heating was a bit hit and miss. Would stay on all night and go off early morning. Other than that we had a great time.

  • "A lovely cottage in a good location."

We used the twin beds but were worried as the slats fell through, very flimsy.

We are glad you enjoyed the cottage. As soon as we were made aware of the issue with the bed slats, they were replaced. Additionally, there is a Lakelovers on call maintenance service available to all guests. Property Owner

  • "Loved this property it had everything we needed for a weeks stay."

The beds were very comfy and the kitchen was equipped to a good standard. Staveley itself was a dream right on a bus route to every main town you need. At great hours and only £2 a journey or you can use oap bus pass. The village had a fab brewery with tap room, three coffee shops, a butchers, a chip shop and a Spar. We also walked up to the pub at Ings. From the bus we visited Kendal, Ambleside, Windermere and Keswick, from these places we were easily able to access the walking routes we wanted. We drove to Aira Force Falls for an amazing hike up the side of the waterfalls. We would definitely like to visit again.

Thank you for this lovely comment, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay and enjoyed everything Staveley has to offer. Property Owner

  • "We loved our stay - the kitchen was well equipped, living room cozy and the beds very comfortable."

The bathroom wasn't quite the same standard as the rest of the property but it was perfectly functional, and the shower was nice and warm. The utility area just inside the door was well thought out - and kept muddy boots out of the living area. Great jumping off point for the Lake District and the facilities in the village, including pub, brewery and ice-cream shop were fab.

The house was perfecrt for our needs and well equipped. The garden and river made it a bit of an oasis. It had everything we needed and Staveley was a lively village with a pub/ brewery/bakery/cafe and gelato shop all on the doorstep. For families there was a lovely play area in the village with large grassy area alongside the river. We walked from the Chapel and explored further afield on some days. We would return.

  • "Staveley good location for travelling out, much quieter than Windermere, Ambleside but that suited us as we wanted to be away from crowds."

The local pub Eagle and Child is very close and serves good meals, local spar shop was good for basics but doesn't sell newspapers so had to go to the local BP garage about 5 mins in car. Cottage tidy and presentable, lovely riverside location with a small grassed area and raised area for sitting out. Parking is for one car, under an oak tree so you will have bird droppings on it after a week (but it's supposed to be lucky !). All in all a relaxing holiday, weather was kind to us.

. cafe, pubs, bakers and supermarket. Walks/ cycle from the doorstep. The old chapel has been sensitively renovated with original beams etc. The garden and river is v nice, though shared access makes it less suitable for young children. The kitchen was well equipped, with lots of useful extras. We had a great time.

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Two The Chapel."

The only thing that isn’t entirely clear from the property description is that there is a right of access through the rear garden of the property to the neighbouring property along the terrace. It didn’t bother us but might be more of an issue if you have children in tow. Also, the entrance through the back door and the kitchen could do with better lighting and the bathroom is rather tight for space. However, we loved the location by the river and overall had a comfortable stay.

Thank you for your feedback. In terms of the shared access to the property we have reviewed the website and asked that Lakelovers amend to ensure clarity. Previous marketing information had this detailed but has been lost in the move to Lakelovers. We have investigated the lighting in the kitchen/back door area and found that the 3 fluorescent strip lights under the kitchen wall units had been individually switched of rendering the main switch useless, not sure why this has happened but now rectified. In terms of the bathroom size there is nothing we can do to change this, it is fully function with toilet, over bath shower and sink. We hope we can welcome you back again in the future too! The property

Two The Chapel is one of four cottages created from the former Methodist Chapel, originally built in 1866, in the village of Staveley that sits on the edge of the Lake District National Park and is a popular base for those wanting to explore the area on foot, by bike or in the car.

In addition to the local pubs and village shop the village is also home to an excellent artisan bakery, an award-winning brewery and the UK’s largest cycle store.

The neighboring Kentmere Valley offers fantastic opportunities for all of all grades from gentle rambles to strenuous fell top hikes. Guests arrive at the cottage through the shared access path in the garden and steps lead to the decked patio and the glazed arched door.

Stepping inside this quirky cottage there is a bright and airy open plan sitting area, dining area and kitchen.

A large sofa and armchair are arranged around the log burning stove where guests can relax and enjoy the views to the patio and the garden.

In the dining area is a glass topped circular dining table and to the side there is a well-appointed kitchen area.

The cottage offers a choice of two bedrooms and there are complemented by a family bathroom. To the rear of the cottage there is a small lawned garden that over looks the rivers and an elevated decked patio with bistro garden furniture is a lovely spot to sit and relax. The property has been furnished with quality vintage and upcycled furniture from a sustainable and design aesthetic perspective
