  • "This is the second stay in the lodge."

It's almost perfect in every way. However the cleanliness on this visit was woeful. There was an empty water bottle, a fake eyelash, 2cpairs of socks and a false nail left behind in the bedrooms. The TV screen had what looked like child's handprints on it. The windows are filthy, which detracts from the views. And there were crumbs all over the kitchen area. It wasn't what we wanted to walk into on day one. Aside from that, the location is perfect the accommodation is well laid out and we will definitely be back. I just hope the cleaners get a talking to before we come back

  • "Loved the area and how close the lodge was to the lake had a fantastic holiday."

Could do with being cleaned a bit better hand marks on tv and lots of sweets and rubbish under the bed when looking for something we dropped a couple of little repairs in the fridge and shower in en-suite.Overall though a lovely lodge and great place to holiday would still recommend.

  • "Generally very good property and location fantastic and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend."

Just a few moans, some areas could do with a good clean. General update on accessories could wouldn’t go a miss, and a bit more attention to detail. Little disappointed at no welcome pack, all off the properties we’ve been in before all have these in, only a little thing but it does make a difference when the owners go over and above. Also, no information available on what there is to do in the area, again other properties we’ve been in have anything like this readily available for if you need it, and also the instruction booklets for the electrical items in the property.

  • "A lovely lodge with great views of the lake."

we had to get maintenance to come out as the patio doors were sticking but they came out quickly and sorted it.i don't think the kitchen floor had been washed and they said they would send cleaners out but I just got some floor wipes. I agree with previous visitors that the mattress in the 2nd bedroom wasn't very comfortable and the cushions for the patio set were too dirty to use. however there was 2 other patio chairs that were very comfortable. After saying all that I would book it again

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that we were able to attend and resolve your issue. We do find that mattresses and bedding is down to personal preference. We take all comments on board and will make our Property Services Team aware. Thank you- The Lake District Lodge Holidays Team Property Owner

  • "Had to clean the decking and outdoor furniture before we could use it some of the cushions were green from being left outside so we didn’t use them."

Could do with a few more towels in bathrooms. Other wise everything else ok .

  • "All in all a brilliant lodge with great facilities, awesome kitchen and layout."

Would definitely recommend. I wanted to give it 4.5 stars not 4, and the only markdown was the second double bed matress was of poor quality so didnt have a great nigts sleep. My daughter reliably informs me that the master bed with en suite was perfect. The location is pefect with a lake view and quick access to the lake for kayaking, paddleboarding and the morning swim. Access to local health club was also a nice touch. Almost the perfect holiday... but that bed needs sorting for our next stay!

Thank you for your kind feedback. We are pleased to see that you enjoyed your stay. We do find that bedding and mattresses are down to personal preference. We hope to welcome you back. The Lake District Lodge Holidays Owner Relations Team Property Owner

  • "The lounge and kitchen extremely large, kitchen well equipped, however we found that the bathroom and bedrooms were on the slightly smaller scale, unfortunately in the main bathroom the shower was not working correctly, they are waiting for a new part, and the sink plug would not work."

The location was exceptionally good, lovely and quiet no through traffic, and a lovely lake view.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you loved the location of your lodge and enjoyed all the views it had to offer. We have passed on all your comments to maintenance who will look into them. We hope to welcome you again soon. The owner relations team - Lake District Lodge Holidays Property Owner

  • "The property was dusty in places There was no welcome pack No bins in the bathrooms."

There were two different codes for the barrier on the paper work from Sykes cottages and the number for the reception on the paper work wasn’t for the site but for Sykes. The correct code was then confirmed from Sykes however when we went to the site it was a different code altogether. It didn’t say on the paper work to book in at the reception but it was then clear when we went to reception to get the Wi-Fi code as this was not in a welcome pack in the property that they would have wanted us to go to reception. The main tv stopped working however on contacting Sykes maintenance came and sorted it. Good service. We highlighted with maintenance that in the main bathroom the mixer wouldn’t stop with the water coming out of the shower, it came out of both the shower and the tap at the same time, so when doing your hair to get more power in the shower head you had to put you foot on the mixer. The plug in the basin in the main bathroom wouldn’t stay down The handle of the shower mixer in the main bedroom comes off. Maintenance looked at these points and stated they would get these sorted for the next person.

Thank you for your comments. As the property is self catering, a welcome pack is not always provided. We take your comments regarding the cleanliness of the property on board, and will ask our Housekeeping Team to ensure that our high standards continue to be met. We will take a look at the information provided in the lodge to ensure that all the information provided is correct. We are pleased that we were able to resolve the issue with the TV, and we will ensure that our Maintenance Team take a look at the shower.
