  • "Everything all good and we enjoyed our stay very much."

Only a slight issue with the heating taking long to heat up.

  • "The caravan was lovely."

There was only 2 negatives to our stay which I will explain after I have spoke about all the positives. So the caravan was exceptionally tidy and clean, lovely decor nice and modern. The site it's on is nice and small not too busy or hectic as we don't have children so it was nice to relax on a quiet site. The guy on reception who runs the site was so welcoming polite and nice. The things that were provided were so helpful like all cooking utensils, blankets, toilet roll etc the necessitates are all available cooker microwave. We didn't have WiFi as it hadn't been installed in this van yet but wasn't an issue as we had our phones that we could piggy back off and the signal was spot on off them. The only negative thing I would mention is when we arrived inside the van we were extremely pleased until we noticed on the window behind the net curtain there were about 30 to 40 flies all sat on the window, I'd disturbed them when drawing the curtains and it was quite off putting, luckily I opened the veranda doors and they all flew out and we didn't see any more in our mon-fri stay. And the other thing was we were allowed to take our dog which we did, but the manager of the site told us our dog wasn't allowed to wee or poo on any of the grass and would need to be taken off site to exercise. The exercises part is understandable and wasn't an issue as we'd come to the lake district to do alot of walking, but the fact that our dog needed to be walked off site every time we let her out for a wee was a little annoying as we couldn't chill in our pjs at night because we needed to walk her off site for her last wee before bed. The manager explained that it's because people are letting their dogs defecate on the grounds and don't clean up after them, but we pick our poo up every single time and would have respected the park. If we'd have known that dogs weren't 100% welcome we wouldn't have booked this site but aside from that everything else was pretty spot on.

  • "Initially was told by the lovely park chap Charlie that the oven didn't work ( we weren't advised before arrival ) did receive a £50 refund , which for a week , to buy food wasn't much when we had planned to eat in most the week."

The door would lock sometimes then wouldn't at all other times , we had to leave the door unlocked as keys for the balcony doors hadn't been left. Wasn't a router for wi-fi as on description. The washer didn't work so had to wash items in kitchen sink & dry on radiators ( some of the radiators didn't warm up , guessing system has air in it ) upon closer inspection the washer water supply was actually connected to the kitchen sink waste ( this would mean potential contamination of the water main ) the boiler wouldn't stop running all night ( had a frost stat but continued to run anyway which was noisy ) the main bedroom smelt like sick ( couldn't find source of stench ) was minimal cutlery so had to do alot of washing up. Would've tried the dishwasher but judging on the plumbing that might well not have worked anyway. Sykes did call us back after our 1st complaint ( oven ) called a 2nd time and did not receive a return call or anymore refund. Won't be using Sykes again. Owner of no42 needs to take a look at this as a snagging list and sort the place before allowing anyone else stay.

  • "Comfortable but a few things need attention oven not working ,2 internal and 1 external lights not working."

Advertised as having Wi-Fi but none available so having leaflets on walks would be an idea.More pots and pans needed.Paving slabs need placed properly as it’s a trip hazard in the dark as no outside lighting at stairs muddy puddle at bottom of stairs with an old tarpaulin throw over it.Lovely well kept site but caravans really close together didn’t sit in veranda as it was looking into someone else’s caravan so no privacy.I feel this site is not very dog friendly can’t walk dog on site nearest decent dog walk was a park in Cockermouth. No shop on site or nearby so a welcome pack would be nice as this has been provided in all the other accommodation we have have used in the past.Unfortunately would not use this site again not for us .

  • "More suitable for the mature and elderly retired or someone wanting a quite space."

No facilities for children or teenagers. No facilities on the park other than the caravan, No WIFI, No shop. No information in caravan on site rules - to say its a dog friendly park is wrong, not able to exercise dogs on site. No local information available places to visit etc. Site owner/manager friendly. Caravan was new upgrade, so beds and chairs comfortable and clean. New towels and bedding. However lots of faults - couldn't use cooker as tripped the electrics. Boiler on constantly even when switched to timer. No bulb in light over table in kitchen. Caravan door wouldn't lock at times. Was a hot weekend when we stayed no fans available in caravan, No hair drier, only 1 TV, No DVD player. Only 1 pillow per guest no extras available.
