  • "North Lodge is a wonderful cottage with everything you need for your stay."

The beds are comfortable and the entire house has a lovely warm feeling. The gardens are delightful, with plenty of room for dogs or children to run around. There were lots of different birds attracted to the feeders, and even a squirrel. We have stayed here 5 or 6 times and will definitely be booking again.

Thank you so much Linda for your very generous and kind feedback. I know I always say this ( but I mean it ! )…it is so greatly appreciated. We want our wonderful guests to enjoy the house as much as we enjoyed living there ourselves . Look forward to seeing you next time. Carolyn Property Owner

Superb detached lodge house alongside river in the hamlet of Brydekirk, near Annan, in Scotland's beautiful south west.

A stunning house and an ideal base for exploring this lovely part of the country.

Superbly furnished and decorated to a high standard, this lovely cottage will accommodate up to six people.

Over three floors, the ground floor has a shower room with WC and a superbly equipped kitchen diner overlooking the extensive rear garden.

A superb sitting room is up one step from the kitchen with a lovely open fire and a further smaller dining area up another couple of steps, again with superb views across the garden to the river beyond.

The first floor has two bedrooms, a superb quality bathroom and a charming window seat which is a delightful place to relax with a book.

The second floor has a spacious double bedroom with a landing that doubles as a children's play area with a safety stairgate, plus each bedroom has a Smart TV in it.

The garden at this delightful holiday cottage is impressive with patio areas and seating areas, as well as a large lawn complete with goalposts should you fancy a game of football.

Over the wall, the River Annan flows past and there are delightful river walks from your doorstep as well as superb fishing.

Take a trip to the Annandale Distillery and sample the local whisky or challenge yourself on the Devil's Beef Tub corrie, part of the Annandale Way.

Where you’ll be staying

ANNAN

Dumfries 15.7 miles; Carlisle 20 miles

The town of Annan, a former harbour, lies on the banks of the River Annan, in East Dumfries and Galloway, and is steeped in history, with the area once the site of Roman camps and the workplace of the writer Thomas Carlyle. Each year, the town celebrates the Riding of the Marches, in honour of the Royal Charter bestowed by King James V, which involves parades, massed pipe bands and competitions. The area around Annan has many small towns, picture postcard villages and hamlets, plus beautiful unspoilt coastline, with sandy beaches and hidden coves. Visit nearby Caerlaverock Castle, one of Scotland's finest ruined castles or Annandale Distillery. Take a day trip and marvel at the majestic architecture of the grand abbeys of Melrose and Jedburgh or visit the northern Lake District and the historic Hadrian’s Wall. Annan is an ideal base for exploring this lovely area.
