The property

Lavender Cottage is a delightful character barn conversion with gorgeous countryside views and fabulous walking country on the doorstep.

There are two country pubs within a mile and Penrith, the gateway to the North Lakes, is a ten minute drive.

Built from the local stone and renovated to a high standard, Lavender Cottage is one of three cottages in this development and can be hired along with Daisy and Poppy for larger groups of family and friends.

Lavender Cottage sleeps 4 and is ideal for a small family, friends or even as a romantic getaway for a couple. Lavender Cottage is at the end of the row of the three attached cottages and the accommodation is light, airy and of a high standard.

The conversion has been sympathetically done, maintaining plenty of character and adding contemporary style.

You walk into a large open plan living area with squashy sofas, a dining table and a fully equipped kitchen area.

Everything has been finished to a very high standard, including the two spacious bedrooms, one adult sized bunk bedroom and one double, and the family bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC.

There's a separate laundry room for washing and drying your clothes.

Outside you'll be bowled over by the incredible views from every angle.

Enjoy them from the patio area in front of the cottage, or use one of the picnic tables in the enclosed paddock which is the perfect area for children to run free.

There's private off-road parking for your cars and shared use of the BBQ.

If you love the great outdoors then Lavender Cottage, with its excellent access to the Caldbeck fells, Ullswater and Keswick, is the ideal base for exploring the glories of the North Lakes.

Penrith with its shops, restaurants, bars and cinema is just a ten minute drive while there are several pubs within a mile of Lavender Cottage.

Whether you want to walk, cycle and hike the fells or explore the range of water sports on offer on the Lakes, there's so much to see and do in Lakeland.

Don't miss a trip to Aira Force with its nature trails and celebrated waterfall, or the unparalleled views from Hallin Fell, surrounded on three sides by Lake Ullswater.

Or take a trip over the scenic Kirkstone Pass to explore the life of Beatrix Potter around Windermere.

Wherever you go, there are unparalleled views, great family attractions and superb food which is why the Lake District is a must visit destination.

If you want to see the Lakes in comfort and on a budget, then Lavender Cottage is an outstanding choice at any time of year.

£25 per week charge for use of the electric charging point. Paid locally if required.

Where you’ll be staying

PENRUDDOCK

Keswick 11 miles; Penrith 6 miles.

The charming old village of Penruddock sits in a secluded position in the northern Lake District between Keswick and Penrith, and just four miles from Ullswater. The village is spread out amongst beautiful rolling countryside and wonderful scenery and is made up of a number of farm dwellings, traditional Lakeland homes and two churches. Penruddock originated in Celtic times, with the name derived from Pen, a Celtic name for 'hill' and 'rhuddawc' meaning red in Welsh to reflect the reddish brown colour of the soil found in the area. Nearby, the popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the north of the Lake District and has plenty to offer, boasting numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, some good parks, the Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema and the beautiful lake. Penruddock provides easy access to the spectacular surrounding Cumbrian countryside which can be explored by both car and on foot, and with the southern Lakes, Eden Valley, Solway Coast and Hadrian's Wall all within easy motoring distance this great location has plenty to see and do for all the family.
