• "This is our second stay at Seascape."

  The reason being is that it such a super property. It has everything you need for a really happy and comfortable holiday. All the rooms are beautifully appointed. There is a lovely view from the front of the house looking over the Pow towards the Solway estuary. Alistair and Chris are great hosts. They left us a very tasty and generous welcome pack. They are easy to reach if needed, yet leave you to yourself if you prefer. As for Powfoot itself, it is a lovely village and a great base for exploring the whole area of Dumfries and Galloway. The people are so friendly and full of useful local information. We always want to stay.

• "We had a wonderful holiday at Seascape."

  The house is beautiful with lovely decor, extremely well equipped and has lots of space. Its situation by the beach was definitely appreciated by us all and we can’t wait to return. The area has lots to do and every place we visited was no more than 30 minutes away in the car (which pleased the children!). Highly recommended.

• "Fabulous decor and attention to detail."

  Stylish but cosy and comfortable. Kitchen well equipped and lots of work space. We loved all the indoor plants esp in the kitchen. Great to have the two public rooms with a group of 6. Really well stocked with books and games. Great fun to try new ones and reminisce with old ones. Very comfy beds. Good showers and fabulous bathrooms.

• "The property was fantastic!"

  The decor, comfort and cleanliness were all outstanding, and the fittings were top quality, it was obvious a lot of thought and care had been put into the property. Little touches like a bag of ice waiting in the freezer, vanity kits in the bedroom really make a difference. There was a welcome hamper with local treats and delicacies plus a quality bottle of champagne! The owner was very helpful and available on text to answer any questions which was extremely convenient. Ten out of ten and I would certainly recommend a stay here. There is a hotel within a 5 minute walk for wonderful food and cocktails - what more could you want?!

• "Seascape is is lovely property that has been presented to a very high standard and spotlessly clean,you will not lack anything in the well equipped kitchen,or a good book to relax with, and board games to spend time around the table."

  The washer drier and a dishwasher two buetiful bathrooms with showers and a bath you could nearly swim in. Once again a great place to stay you won't be disappointed. The only thing I would change is the sofa's are a bit low for getting out off. Rob & Catherine ,and Family

• "We had a wonderful time at Seascape."

  The cottage was extremely comfortable, clean and well-equipped. It's obvious that a lot of thought and care has gone into the decor and comfort of the place. The kitchen had everything you could ask for. The front garden is a magical spot for relaxing with a book. Also, great communication with the owners. Powfoot is a lovely village with an excellent restaurant at the hotel. We loved playing on the village green and walking on the beach.

The beach is very close by and Annan is 3 miles away where there are several supermarkets and some takeaways . • "Absolutely fantastic place to stay."

  Property amenities were perfect. Over the years of staying in holiday cottages this one is the best. The bedrooms were a good size with double beds. TV in every room. It was good to have plenty of mugs / crockery / cutlery instead of just enough for everyone. Powfoot is a beautiful part of Scotland. Great for walks or just relaxing overlooking the sea. Annan quiet village nearby with best fish and chips in Cafe Royal. Will definitely book again

• "Top marks all round for Seascape."

  Alistair and Christine have done a brilliant job to make Seascape a home from home. Top quality throughout. So comfortable from the couches to the beds. There is certainly a ‘WOW’ factor with this home. Lovely views from the front windows, overlooking the bowling green towards the Solway firth. The peace and quiet of Powfoot itself is blissful. A great area for bird watching and walking. The sound of birds singing surrounds you. A good restaurant just a short stroll away. You couldn’t ask for more.

• "We have had a perfect Easter weekend staying in Seascape."

  The house has everything you need and more. The attention to detail is incredible, from a lovely welcoming gift to everything you could need in the kitchen. I came prepared as I do when staying in lodges with salt, pepper, foil, spices etc. and didn't need anything as it was all there as well as washing machine pods and dishwasher tabs. The house is beautifully decorated and on a rainy afternoon with the view of the sea spent a couple of hours with family playing dominoes around the dining table. We loved it so much, we have already booked for a week in the Summer! :) Highly recommended!!

• "A great property with a real lived in feel thanks to the furnishings and accessories, a welcome change from some bland holiday rentals."

  Chris was so helpful and quick to answer any questions we had. We were blessed with terrific weather and it was glorious to sit out the front and enjoy the world going by - unfortunately without shade it was too hot at times, but I'm told that a sun shade is on the cards for the property. A perfect property for a relaxing break and one I wouldn't hesitate to return to, which is rare for me.

• "Gorgeous house in wonderful setting."

  To have the beach so close and the gardens of the house too was brilliant. We had sun all week which really made it. We stayed with our 17 month old who loved the beach. Kitchen is very well equipped, does limit the cupboard space available for food though. Lovely welcome basket provided with wine, tea, coffee and biscuits, jams and fudge. Plus milk in the fridge and OJ. Has lights which run up the stringers on the stairs which come on automatically which means you can see going up the stairs in the dark but unfortunately come on as you walk across from the back bedroom which was a bit annoying for us going to see our baby in the front room as then was really light opening the door. Apart from that everything was fab. Isn't too much in Powfoot, not a shop but 2 pub / hotels. We didn't go to either. A big tesco, aldi and lidl in Anan only a few mins drive away. Didn't really seem too much else in Anan so didn't explore that. Dumfries very disappointing and run down. Found a fab cafe / restaurant called The Boathouse not too far, would highly recommend that.

• "Honestly the nicest place we have ever stayed."

  The home is beautifully decorated, and completely equipped with everything you will need and want. I usually take so many things in case they're not provided. This is the only place I can think of that has thought of everything. We really loved it and hope to return with parents. Some highlights: 2 separate lounges with large TVs (as well as TVs in bedrooms); woodburning stove with wood provided; superbly equipped kitchen; lovely big dining table for meals; huge sofas :) The views were lovely and the lounge catches the sunshine which we loved. A small relaxing seating area outside was also perfect to watch the views. Would love to go back again!!

• "Top quality accommodation."

  All 3 bedrooms are a decent size with comfortable double beds so there were no arguments as to who was getting which bedroom. Welcome pack was superb which complemented the excellent kitchen with lots of utensils and equipment provided. Sofas in both rooms were big and comfortable with lovely views of the Solway Firth. Also both bathrooms were a good size although all 3 couples would have preferred en- suites but that fact would not stop us staying again as everything else is so good.

  Thank you for your super Sykes review of Seascape Antony and pleased to hear you all enjoyed your stay and you found the sofas and Kingsize beds comfortable and the house well equipped for your needs. I noted that you would have preferred - en-suites to the 3 bedrooms unfortunately we were restricted by the design of house and it being a Victorian listed building when refurbishing.   There was every comfort and the kitchen was fully equipped. Plenty of nice surprises! Powfoot is a gem of a village with a true community feel....every neighbour would say hello and chat to us. Annan has all the facilities one needs and is just a short drive away. The Lake District is surprisingly close, where holiday homes like this are 3 times the price. • "Seascape is furnished, decorated and equipped to an extremely high standard."

  The owners have paid incredible attention to detail to everything which means you feel relaxed and at home as soon as you arrive. All this means it makes it very difficult to leave the property but if you do there is a beautiful quiet beach literally minutes away. Powfoot itself is a very calming serene place but well situated to venture out to explore the many castles and walks in the area or indeed the towns and cities. Christina and Alistair have created a simply stunning 10/10 property which I would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone who is thinking of staying there. • "The house is furnished, decorated and equipped to an extremely high standard and benefits as well to having only been rented out for a few months."

  The owners are easily contacted and very helpful. The neighbours are friendly too. The whole house is light and airy and has a lovely view across grass to Powfoot Beach beyond. There is very little traffic in Powfoot itself. The surrounding area has many sites of historical interest and there are walks galore whether it be in a nature reserve, along a coastal path, in one of the many forests or a hillwalk.

• "A brilliant property, equipped to the highest of standards."

  It is beautifully decorated and very spacious. It has its own private garden which is maintained to a similar standard. The property is located in a unique model Edwardian village overlooking the sea. The area itself is very scenic, with an incredible history and access to many areas of interest; including castles, stunning walks and a little further away Edinburgh. Highly recommended, we have no hesitation in giving this property 5 stars.
