  • "Amazing property, very clean and well equipped in a great location."

It has everything you need and more. The only suggestion for improvement I could give was if there could be a couple of extra tea towels and maybe oven gloves to be provided.

Thanks so much for the 100/100 feedback! I'm delighted that you had a wonderful time and great suggestion for more tea-towels... consider it done. Kindest Regards' Julie Property Owner

  • "Very good property for a large group or large families."

When I first saw the listing didn't think of it to be as big as it was. Very good location not too far from main supermarkets. This property isn't too far from the Lake District so that's another plus. Also I'd like to say Julie was very helpful and very informative didn't have no difficulties when we arrived. Everything was sent over to us regarding what we may need to bring along with us and what was already provided which was also helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property to anyone whose looking to book.

I'm so pleased that you had such a good time! Fern Lee is a perfect location for multi-generational family get togethers and big enough for everyone to enjoy their own space too. Great to hear that you would highly recommend us and thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. Best Wishes Julie Property Owner

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

The house is spacious and very comfortable with an extremely well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed the outside space and hot tub too. There is ample parking (we had 6 cars between us and all easily fitted on the drive) Fern Lee is well positioned for strolling along the river and into the centre of Carlisle. It's about a 15 minute walk to the train station and a couple of buses also run near the house.

Thanks for leaving us a great review. I'm delighted that you had such a good time at Fern Lee. It's always nice to get feedback about how well equipped our properties are as we go to great lengths to make sure guests have everything they need. The walk along the river to get into the centre of Carlisle is a great way to travel! Just a short distance where you will find all local amenities including restaurants, bars and shops. About the location

CARLISLE

Gretna Green 13.1 miles; Penrith 19.9 miles; Dumfries 36.2 miles

Carlisle is set in the county of Cumbria, situated just 10 miles south of the Scottish Borders and is nicknamed the Border City. During Roman times the town was established to serve the forts for Hadrian's Wall, which runs east from the city across the country to Wallsend on the east coast and today is recognised as a World Heritage Site. During the Middle Ages, due to its proximity to the Kingdom of Scotland, Carlisle became an important military stronghold and Carlisle Castle, still relatively intact, was built in 1092 by William Rufus, after once serving as a prison for Mary, Queen of Scots. The castle now houses the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment and the Border Regiment Museum. In the early 12th century Henry I allowed the foundation of a priory in Carlisle and the town gained the status of a diocese in 1122, resulting in the priory becoming Carlisle Cathedral. The Settle to Carlisle railway runs across some of the most breathtaking scenery to the popular Yorkshire town and Carlisle Racecourse has a packed fixture list including Ladies’ Day and evening fixtures. Within driving distance is the Victorian seaside town of Silloth and just over the border is Gretna Green, where you'll find the Gretna Gateway Shopping Centre and Anvil Hall, the famous wedding venue.
