"We had a great time, the accommodation was really clean and had everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday."
Bed was comfortable, shower was great and Wigton itself is a lovely little place. We used two butchers and both supplied good quality chicken and sausages. Parking is on the road - we never had a problem and found a space every day when we returned from a day out. Only recommendation would be to have darker/blackout curtains in the bedroom but not a major problem . We loved all the finishing touches, from the magazines, nice hand wash, tissues and the biscuits and milk sachets.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We are really happy you had a comfortable stay and had everything you needed. We pride ourselves on being able to create a home from home feel, so you are free to enjoy going out and about exploring the beautiful lakes. The town also has everything you need all within walking distance. We would love to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

"The apartment was very damp and smelly when we walked in on Thursday it did ..."
The apartment was very damp and smelly when we walked in on Thursday it did improve slightly as the weekend went on we found a slug on the bedroom wall friday night as we went to bed so i took it outside so not a good thing to happen overall the property was very good but just the damp that put us off going again
Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately the weather has dropped considerably in temperature and with heavy downpours of rain, we have not been able to adjust the heating temperature in time, the apartment was not occupied for several days prior to your arrival, and had not been kept warm. We have now rectified the heating times and duration. May I reassure you that there is not any damp in the apartment, as with very old buildings, there is no insulation and a change in temperature with lots of rain will make the building feel cold and damp very quickly, normally regulated by the heating.I can only apologise, however if you had called us we could have talked you through the heating controls. As there was only one isolated incident with the slug it is highly likely to have been brought in by the previous guests dog or walking boots. Older properties have their appealing charm but also bring their challenges you don’t find with modern architecture. Kind regards Alison & Mark Property Owner

"The whole place was lovely, just want to mention that the front door key is a bit tricky!"
You have to be very zen to make it work!
Thank you so much for your feedback, we are really happy you enjoyed your stay. So glad you mentioned the door, we are there in a couple of weeks so will take a look at it, much appreciated. Update on front door- the lock has been changed and is now working fine. Property Owner

About the location
WIGTON
Carlisle 12 miles; Keswick 20 miles.
A traditional Cumbrian market town with a charter granted in 1262, which still holds a market each Friday in the covered market hall, along with an open air car boot sale which is held at Silloth. Wigton is a popular centre for shopping, pubs and restaurants, and also boasts a theatre, bowls, swimming, tennis and other sports. Lord Melvyn Bragg was a native of Wigton, and used the town (called Thurston in some of his writings) and the surrounding area as the setting for his novels including ‘A Time to Dance’. Located 18 miles from Penrith it is a good base for the attractions of the North Lakes, the cathedral city of Carlisle, 12 miles away, Keswick, just north of Derwentwater and close to Lake Bassenthwaite, and the natural beauty of the West Cumbrian Coast. Hadrian’s Wall is within 25 miles, while the Scottish Borders, and Gretna Green, are within easy reach.
