"The cottage / Flat is located in a very nice area however the property needs to have the Damp issues sorted, this has been mentioned on previous reviews but still nothing has been done, the dampness is mainly downstairs on all walls, there is visible signs of mould in the en suite bathroom under the basin, walls are all flaking in other areas and there is general smell of dampness, there is also mould starting to appear at front kitchen window."
I have worked in Building maintenance all my life including damp surveying so let’s not pretend everything is all ok. We reported to the owner the first night that there was issue with TV Netflix, rang twice over weekend and they could not be bothered to resolve, said twice would ring back but no calls received, every time we rang she was driving and would get back but just seemed not interested. Living in York and could not be bothered to make the journey? Quick enough to take the booking and money but don’t seem want to resolve any issues. Have stayed in far better quality cottages.
Thank you for your feedback. I’ve noted your comments. The downstairs is on the lower ground floor and building is an old mil. It has been damp proofed and painted a couple of times but will have a look into the areas mentioned. I left a few messages on your phone regarding the Netflix and I am sorry that you felt that I wasn’t bothered. I am always looking to improve and ensure that these issues can be resolved. "What a lovely stay."
It's quite obvious that the owners have put in a lot of effort to offer this cottage for a holiday rental. We had a super time and enjoy the cottage very much. We would definitely recommend it and most probably stay again. We had a very friendly conversation and welcome. Thank you for sharing your home.
Hi Fiona Thank you for your lovely feedback. It makes us so happy that you enjoyed your stay. I hope you do stay with us again. Property Owner

"The cottage was lovely and spacious with fantastic views of the river."
The beds were comfy, the kitchen had everything you need and there is a great shower and bath. Would definitely stay here again.
Thank you for your great review. I’m really pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope you stay again in the future. Property Owner

"Absolutely lovely stay, the location is amazing - so quiet, so serene, just beautiful with lots of dog walking opportunities."
Sunita was on hand to help with any queries ☺️ Only thing I would change would be a lamp in the living room for evenings rather than having a big light on. Other than that - perfect. Booked again for June! x
Hi Natalie Thank you for your lovely review. I’m so happy that you enjoyed your stay and can’t wait for you to stay again in June. I will sort out a lamp for the lounge and thanks for the feedback. Property Owner

"Lovely accommodation in a beautiful location."
Would of liked some dishes to cook with as very limited, there is a casserole lid but no dish. Also would of been nice to have softer pillows, i have never ever known them as solid as what they were, the bed was lovely & we both slept well
Thank you for your feedback. Glad you enjoyed the accommodation and the location. I've noted your comments on the pillows and dishes and have ordered more. The pillows are from furniture village as is the beds so they are a high standard of quality. I hope you do stay with us again. Property Owner

"Property location is beautiful, peaceful and ideally placed for Malham and Gorsdale Scar."
Cottage was comfy, clean and spacious, although going down the stairs there is a slight damp smell. Could do with more mugs and glasses and there is no vacuum cleaner to use at the end of your stay.
Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed the property. Downstairs is the ground floor and the apartment is part of an old mill building. It has been damp proofed so surprised there's a slight smell. I will monitor this and ensure that high standards are maintained. I have ordered more mugs and glasses. I always value feedback and always strive to make improvements. I do hope you stay again in the future. Property Owner

"My daughter and I really loved this house."
We just came for a couple of nights before my daughter return to school. There are walks right on the doorstep along the Pennine way. You do have to drive to a pub or restaurant but they’re not that far away. The house itself Was very nicely laid out with super comfy sofas and a lovely big kitchen. You then go downstairs to the bedrooms and the bathroom of which have patio doors to open out onto the grass area outside. I will definitely stay here again. The neighbours are absolutely lovely.
Thank you for your fantastic feedback. I look forward to you staying with us again. Property Owner

"This holiday cottage has been recently refurbished to a good standard - everything we needed was to be found in the kitchen."
Easy to find and check in, good parking right outside. Charming village location just down from Malham with terrific walking. Nice touches such as plenty of dishwasher tabs, loo roll, Netflix and a bottle of wine in the fridge. Only downsides for us were the pillows which were really firm and just not comfortable but appreciate this is a taste thing. Perhaps supply a small selection of different pillows in the wardrobe? Also the main issue which meant we probably wouldn’t return was that downstairs felt really damp. It runs alongside a charming river but perhaps this is why the whole sleeping floor is damp. You can see the walls starting to peel so this must be a persistent problem. Such a shame because otherwise it’s a really nice place.

"Beautiful place!"
The location is amazing, with a pretty river literally at the end of the garden. The property has everything you could hope for, and the furnishings are top quality. We love it.

"A lovely property for relaxing"
-
"Wonderful location and very well equipped and furnished property with car parking outside the door."
Very comfortable, and unusual chairs, with a massive TV to view. River views from the flat. Dog friendly and many walks from the doorstep. We would stay again to try and get better weather.
-
"Absolutely loved our stay."
The cottage is beautifully furnished. Very well maintained and beautiful and clean. Well equipped could not fault anything at all. Fabulous location. Wish we could have stayed longer. No complaints will definitely be returning.
-
"What a lovely cottage."
Everything is top quality, from the furniture to the crockery. The cottage is superbly situated by the side of the picturesque River Aire. Fabulous!

"Excellent property would definitely stay again"

Well located, spacious, beautifully furnished. We love it!
-
"Fabulous property, spotlessly clean, so comfortable and in a prime location."
Everything we could have wanted was provided for. We had a wonderful few days, and without doubt we will be back. Just wish we could live there permanently.
-
"We spent a week in this superbly situated and well appointed duplex apartment in June 2022."
The accommodation is spacious, modern and with all facilities for a relaxing break. Its proximity to Malham and the Pennine Way meant we were able to do some splendid walking from the door. The local farm shop was an excellent source of regional produce and both Settle and Skipton are delightful towns nearby.

"Lack of colour in property Small welcoming pack would be welcomed No mention of another flat above"
-
"Hi the property is beautiful and set in such lovely surroundings the only fault is the very narrow road leading in and out."
The neighbours were very very friendly especially pebbles the dogs master. Lovely walks from your doorstep and just 2 miles along the river to Malham cove.
-
"We all enjoyed our stay here, well equipped and nice cottage to explore Yorkshire dales."
One minor improvement to keep nice vacuum cleaner for tenants use. Thanks
-
"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Riverside and had a very relaxing week."
The only thing missing from our point of view is bedside tables in the twin room.
-
"We had a lovely week at Riverside walk."
The apartment was clean, comfortable, well equipped and maintained. It is in a really beautiful, peaceful location and well situated for walks of all lengths. Very good communication from the owner.
-
"The property was immaculate and very comfortable, apart from the pillows which I found rock hard and too thick (a minor detail but important)."
We were blessed with glorious weather for the whole week and the location of the property was wonderful, offering walking straight from the door as well as being in the heart of amazing countryside to explore. The Town End farmshop was great as well as being very convenient. One small quibble - there was no cafetiere which was a shame and definitely missed. All in all, we had a really great holiday and would recommend it to anyone.
-
"The location of the property was great, lovely farm shop in village."
Bonus that there was parking included. Good base to explore the local area. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable living area. Bonus of Netflix. Lovely comfortable bed and bedding. Would have liked a curtain at the front door, although the internal door could be closed. After a day walking, the entrance hall did become muddy, maybe something to put boots on would have helped this. There were no bedside tables or little lamps in one of the bedrooms. You also had to get the plug 'in the right place' in the bath, otherwise it slowly emptied while enjoying a bubble bath. Would have been a nice touch to have a little welcome hamper, although there were some teabags/coffee. Although the property is dog friendly, there were no little touches for a furry friend (bowl/treats) like have had at other dog friendly stays. Would recommend and stay again if in the area.

"Riverside Cottage was everything we had hoped for."
...Such a beautiful clean and comfortable cottage set in a pretty little village. We have used Sykes for many years and you have never ever disappointed us.
-
"We have just returned from this charming, cosy apartment."
It is close to Gargrave,Skipton and has so many good walks nearby! We visited Malhams Cove which is well worth a visit! The apartment has everything you need and it has a fantastic big bath which you can enjoy with lots of bubbles after a long walk! I especially enjoyed reading a book with the sound of the river flowing by! We will definately be returning, thank you so much
-
"We had a wonderful break at 9 Riverside Walk."
The property was clean, comfortable and we had no issues with any of the facilities provided. Would be happy to stay there again should we return to the area.
-
"Only 3 cereal bowls were available for 4 persons but otherwise the cottages facilities were of a good standard"
Thank you for your feedback. Glad that the cottage was of a good standard. Apologies for the lack of cereal bowls there was originally at least one per guest. Will get this rectified. Property Owner

"The stairs are too steep for elderly people like myself - a handrail is needed both sides."
-
"A perfect unique cottage in a lovely location."
The cottage is part of an old mill and living quarters are upstairs and two large bedrooms downstairs with two large bathrooms, one en-suite with double shower one bathroom with roll top bath. The cottage is finished to a high standard and very well equipped with quality Denby crockery. Perfect location for walking to Malham and travelling to Skipton. Highly recommend for a quiet peaceful holiday.
-
"We found this to be the perfect location for exploring the area on foot or by car and the scenery around the cottage is incredible."
Its a really peaceful, relaxing high quality cottage and to hear the river running by from the cottage is wonderfully calming. Great place, great holiday and one we will repeat

"The only negative was that we could have done with bedside tables and lamps in ..."
The only negative was that we could have done with bedside tables and lamps in bedroom, other then that it was a beautiful place to stay in as well as the fantastic surroundings
-
"The location is ideal for exploring the area and the cottage offers an extremely quiet and restful stay."
-
"Fantastic location which really made for a brilliant holiday."
Unfortunately we had no heating all week although the owner kept in touch and supplied a couple of freestanding heaters during the week. Neither bathroom had an adequate extractor fan which meant the air and walls stayed damp. Great to have a washing machine and dishwasher but nowhere really to dry clothes. Kitchen equipment was generally good - would be helpful to have saucepans with lids. Overall we had a great holiday- super location, clean accommodation and modern decor.
-
"Superb property in beautiful surroundings with great views of the river and greenery."
The property is well equipped is well equipped (65" telly , good cooking facilities, comfortable sofa and chairs). Although there is no pub in the village, Malham and other places are a short drive away. The only downside was that I couldn't get Vodafone signal but the internet at the property is good.
-
"This is an ideally base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales."
The property is situated on the Pennine Way and with easy walking distance of Malham Cove. The property was comfortable and a nice place to return too after a days walking. The sound of the river that run alongside the property helped us relax at the end of the each day.
