"Beautiful spacious property in a fantastic location with picturesque views."
Quite a unique property with quality appliances giving a home from home feeling. Loved the snug utilising the log fire each night. Thought the welcome pack was a lovely touch. Beds were nice and comfortable. Would definitely return.
So glad you enjoyed your stay. We love to share our home in the country , so our guests get to enjoy the lovely old house and the beauty of Wensleydale. Nigel

"Beautiful house."
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Lovely mix of old and modern. Spotlessly clean. Kitchen very well equipped. Really enjoyed the welcome pack. Still no blinds in the bathroom. I suggested a hinged screen. I wouldn't want to be getting in the bath next to the window with the light on, I put a holdall in front of the window for my daughter.
Locals park in front of the house but still space to park.
Path needs clearing as I nearly slipped on the wet grass which has grown over it.
Difficult accessing the drier due to large drier stand. These are not complaints though ! The house is fabulous!!

"The Manor House was a very impressive building."
Really old and spacious and I loved it. However there were a few problems the first was the radiator in the dining room was not working when we arrived on Friday. The weather was very cold (for June) I messaged the housekeeper the next day but did not receive a reply. I then contacted Sykes who rang me to inform the owner stated it was working the previous weekend . I was treated as if I had no understanding of central heating and generally fobbed off. I had to insist I had in fact tried all of the methods and it was certainly not working. No effort was made to contact an emergency gas engineer and we continued to be cold. An engineer finally came on Monday evening and fixed the fault on the radiator.

"Had to hoover the bed of dog hairs, underwear found in drawer in bed room, pizza left in freezer, had to fill dishwasher with salt, had to wash some of the cooking utensil's before using, main bedroom needs to be cleaned under the bed."
So sorry to hear about the issues you had. I've changed the cleaners in response to your feedback .The caretaker is always available if you have any issues needing attention during your stay. I hope you still managed to enjoy your time in the Dales.

"Everything was great but we have a couple of comments/ suggestions."
The two shower/ bathrooms should have blinds. The double bedroom with 'en suite should be enclosed.
Great situation. We walked along the river to Askrigg. The Wensleydale creamery in Hawes was very interesting on the one rainy day!
Many thanks and would love to return in the future.
Thank you for your review, and so glad you enjoyed your visit. We didnt put up blinds in the bathrooms as they are not overlooked, but in view of your comment will do so.
Hope to see you in Wensleydale again !

"Very disappointing."
On arrival we found the dishwasher to be full of the previous occupants' dishes, the grill pan and rack covered in grease and food crumbs and the freezer compartment in the small fridge in the kitchen jammed up with a bag of ice cubes that had morphed into one solid iceberg. There were also a couple of drinks mats on the floor of the siting room presumably where the previous occupants had left them, and here was a recycling box full of bottles on the pavement outside the back gate (it was still there when we left). It obviously made us question the standard of housekeeping and cleaning.
The property itself did not live up to the description and the photographs online. The so-called snug, which is anything but, has one long settee that could sit four people sitting up straight but if there were more than four guests staying then the only other furniture in that room is a couple of hard wooden chairs. The room is dark, austere and cold, not helped by the radiator cabinet which absorbs most of the heat. The tv in the room is not a smart tv and just has Freeview channels available through an aerial, so guests cannot watch Netflix or other streaming or catch up services in that room. The sitting room is better and is actually comfortable, warm and cosy but is again let down by the television. This one does not have any terrestrial channels at all as it is not connected to an aerial but is not a proper smart tv either. It is somehow connect to the wifi but only has Netflix, Prime and BBC iPlayer Apps available. It was impossible to connect the tv to the internet or to download any other Apps, so you cannot access ITVx, Channel 4, Channel 5 or another streaming services. It all seems very odd given the money that has obviously been spent elsewhere in the property that there are not two proper smart tvs in the house.
The ensuite bedroom is exactly that, en suite - the toilet, shower and basin ae right in the room with you, no door, screen or even a curtain to separate you, so we chose to stay in the "gothic" room. While the bed was comfortable the room has an incongruous free-standing bath between the bed and the window, which makes the room very cramped an awkward to move around, with no room for a wardrobe, and the bath seems totally impractical given the age of the wooden flooring and the gaps between the floorboards.
The main bathroom is very nicely equipped but the window, which is not frosted or opaque and has no curtain or blind, looks directly onto the house across the road, which means the the neighbours can see anyone in the shower until the window steams up!
The external areas are very small and while enclosed, dog owners should be aware that it is not secure, with plenty of escape routes.
All in all we were very disappointed in it and would not stay again.
So sorry that you did not enjoy your stay.
The snug has listed dark oak 18th century panelling , and the original 17th century oak chairs are contemporary with the house.
With a 3 seater ,2 seater, and two single upholstered chairs and a rocking chair in the sitting room there should be ample seating for all.
Other guests have been happy with the choice of Bowers and Wilkin smart speaker, Sony smart TV ,and terrestrial TV but in view of your comments we will look at upgrades.
Front and back gardens are walled and gated so should be secure for dogs unless they can jump the wall or squeeze through the gate.
Although there is a house across the road there is no view into the bathroom and no need for frosting.
Recycling is collected by the council every fortnight.
Thanks for your feedback

"We had a fabulous week at the Manor House and would highly recommend it."
Warm, comfortable, spacious, comfy beds, great decor and a very well equipped kitchen. Lots of walks from the house and lots to do nearby. Some reviewers have mentioned the traffic noise, but we didn't find this intrusive. We would love to return.
If you are thinking of getting the extended family together - this is a wonderful place to do it. Already recommended it to friends.

"Cleaning. You need to look under and behind your furniture."
Road noise is intrusive - not mentioned in the listing, but the penalty of living on a roundabout
House bathroom - the shower does not drain
Outside - insufficient chairs - 8 guests??
Outside - plenty of parking we had 4 vehicles and no problems
Would we come back? Yes, definitely
Thanks for leaving feedback , and glad to hear you'd happily return.
We've just received Listed Building consent to install Heritage wooden frame double glazing which should resolve any road noise concerns ,and keep us warm in the Dales winters , and this should be fitted by next year.
Take your point on the outside seating- while there are 8 seats , four are at the front and four at the back . Will see if we can fit in more without spaces becoming cluttered .
Thanks for your visit, and hope to see you again

"We stayed here over the Bank Holiday weekend for a family getaway to celebrate my sons first birthday."
Upon arrival, there was plenty of parking at the front of the property, which was great as we had packed a lot of things and brought 3 cars.
The accommodation was really impressive, we loved the antique furniture and the decor in each room was all so tastefully chosen.
The hamper, which was left out for us, was such a nice gesture, too. We stayed in the gothic room, and the bed was so comfy!
We would all definitely return here, a lovely find!
Thank you for the lovely feedback , and so glad you enjoyed your stay . A first birthday is always special! Our grandchildren love the childrens' playground on the village green , so if you come back in a few years time your child would enjoy playing with the children there.
