The property

Wolfen Mill is a former water-powered mill built in the 16th Century, set in one acre of fabulous grounds just a short distance from the Lancashire village of Chipping, an area renowned for its abundance of gastro pubs.

Historically, the Mill made spindles and bobbins for the local spinning mills, closing production in the 1920s.

Completely renovated in 2018, Wolfen Mill provides first-class, award-winning holiday accommodation, ideal for large groups looking to get away from it all and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this beautiful haven.

The dam or millrace provides a beautiful wildlife haven and the views of 'Parlick Pike' provide a great backdrop to this wonderful holiday retreat, sadly the old water wheel is no longer present.

Providing spacious accommodation, the top floor sitting room offers the centrepiece of the building, with bi-fold doors opening out onto the decked area overlooking the mill dam, a wonderful place to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings and watch the sun go down.

The ground floor dining room provides a great place for the group to get together, enjoy a few early drinks on the adjoining patio and garden area whilst the ‘chefs’ start getting together their culinary delights in the commercial kitchen.

There are a further two kitchens available on this floor, one for each course perhaps or to allow a few more gourmet cooks their own working space.

All the bedrooms are set up as separate suites providing guests with their own personal sitting areas, luxurious bedroom, kitchen and modern ensuite bathroom.

Ideal for those wishing to spend a little time away from the main group to relax and unwind in their own luxurious space.

This outstanding property is a walker’s delight, surrounded by the stunning Bowland fells, the wildlife-rich landscapes and the Trough of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You have plenty of entertainment such as an LG high definition Freeview LCD television, Amazon and Netflix and a DVD player.

This wonderful property also caters for special events such as birthday celebrations, weddings and anniversaries to name a few, with a dedicated dining room or marquee which can be set up in the courtyard.

You can explore the picturesque villages of Longridge, Garstang, Whalley and Waddington nearby, hosting a variety of local shops, tea rooms, gastro pubs and restaurants.

Enjoy a day trip to the Wild Boar Park, where you can feed and pet the animals or ramble along woodland paths.

The kids can enjoy a tractor ride, run wild in the adventure play area or explore the tunnels in the hay barn.

Once you have explored the stunning landscapes of the Forest of Bowland by day, you can discover some of the darkest skies in England, an increasingly rare find in this crowded little country and a must-do when visiting this region.

There is so much to offer from this fantastic base, Wolfen Mill, a unique experience in the Trough of Bowland!

Note: This property has a refundable Good Housekeeping bond of £600.
