  This has been my second stay,it's perfectly located for the Yorkshire Dale's, I am a cyclist and there is an outbuilding for bikes, plus a power point for charging, the Cottage is very comfortable and well kept, I shall definitely be returning

  In a great location and a very cosy property with everything you need for a short break in the Dales. Warm fire, lots of cooking equipment, and clean throughout! Only point of improvement I would like to suggest is to renew the towels. Mine was marked / dirty and when I came out the shower to dry myself, a silver fish ran out of the towel and down me. So the owner may wish to consider treating the place for silver fish too. Otherwise, no complaints!

  Easy walking distance to Hawes with plenty of local shops recommend butchers, E Allen grocery store and chip shop. Plenty of walks to do from cottage. Will definitely return.

  The only issue we had was the stairs to the bedrooms and bathroom after a days walking we found them a but hard to climb, but as we live in a bungalow with no stairs we aren't used to them. Otherwise brilliant...

  Great position to walk into Hawes for the pubs, shops and a brilliant Chippie. Loads of country walks to do. If it could have some more coat hooks by the front door as big winter coats take up a lot of space in the pantry. A mirror downstairs would be a good addition. This is the second time we have stayed in this cottage and will definitely be back.

• "We had a lovely few days at mill cottage, we found it very clean and comfortable, every little detail was thought about we would recommend staying here, the only thing I would suggest is if you have a large car have a look before you take car to cottage as it is a bit tight but we didn’t have a problem with the Yaris."

• "There needs to be a clear warning that the hot water in the cottage is extremely hot and could easily scold an unsuspecting user."

  I would recommend parking up at what is known as The Green because The Wynd is very narrow and overnight on our last night a neighbour had parked their car in the middle of the lane preventing access to everyone. We had parked at The Green as it happened, but when vacating the cottage the next morning we were unable to drive down to collect our belongings.

  Great location, lovely walks directly from the house if you don't want to drive. Easy to walk into Hawes for shops, restaurants and pubs. Although the kitchen is small it had all items we needed during our stay. We cooked in more than we would normally on a holiday. Loved the woodburner, although the property is lovely and warm when the heating comes on. Would love to stay again.

  Only thing to be aware of is that the kitchen hot tap is scalding so watch out. Location is grear for walking and all seven days were from the cottage door and the car never moved from arrival until leaving. 10 min walk into Hawes with pubs and eateries aplenty. For good normal food make sure you try the Wenslydale Pantry opposite The Crown Inn on Hawes main street. The entrance is a side door on the left of the Spar shop, it's open till 7pm and is fully licensed. Hawes is a must place to visit.

• "Access to the property was difficult and would have been almost impossible with a large vehicle."

  We were told about this before travelling but NOT before booking. We found no evidence of underfloor heating in the bathroom but this was not a problem as the cottage was very cosy and warm. Perhaps this is only available in the winter? The cottage was extremely well equipped, better than any other we have visited and everything worked, which is not always the case. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay and would recommend the cottage to anyone with a small vehicle and the ability to climb the two steep flights of stairs.

  It is a lovely building and beautifully restored to a high standard. it is comfortable and pretty and the bathroom is probably the most comfortable (warm) and spacious I can remember in any cottage we have stayed in! the location was also great for us, it was so nice to be able to walk into town to eat and /or shop and to start walks from the door. not having to use the car every day added to our sense of relaxation.

• "Lovely peaceful little cottage in Gayle good base for leaving the car and walking, cottage had everything needed for a relaxing visit."

  Although the lane is very narrow once you get to the cottage there is enough space for a car outside the property. The sun in the morning was lovely and we took some chairs outside the front of the cottage and had a cup of tea and watched all the little birds. Easy to walk into Hawks also. Will hopefully visit again soon.

  Clean with good facilities especially the bathroom that had underfloor heating (very useful on cold mornings). About a half mile walk into Hawes which has plenty of shops and pubs. Close to the wensleydale creamery which is worth a visit.
