  • "This property is in an idyllic setting."

The large shower looks amazing. However there is nowhere to sit except on the bed which is only about a foot of the ground. It is the the most uncomfortable bed I have ever tried to sleep on. I booked the Bothy for two of us for 4 nights but the dip in the bed was so bad that it was impossible to be comfortable and took sometimes to extricate ourselves from the dip. We left at 11pm the first night and booked into an hotel, never to return. I emailed the owner immediately and Sykes. The owner has never replied and took Sykes 3 further emails to reply just to say they were looking I to it. I wouldn't recommend this property even for one person I'm afraid. It was very disappointing as we were looking for a property that we could rent 3 or 4 times a year. Nor to be the Bothy I'm afraid!

I'm sorry that the bed at The Bothy wasn't to your taste.... I wish you would have reached out...Thank you for the compliments regarding the Bothy’s setting and shower room. However, I do hope that you will in the future offer other property owners an opportunity to solve an issue rather than as here, fail to get in touch through established methods and then insinuate that a negative review will be left, if you are not instantly in receipt of a compensation request. As we had spoken earlier that day, I wish you would have reached out to me again over the phone because there were several solutions to this issue of the bedding being uncomfortable for you. While the bed may not have been to your preference, we could have utilised the other mattresses available in the property’s adjacent shed store or the sofa bed that was clearly available to you within the property, which also provided additional seating. It is disappointing that rather than reaching out to solve this issue, you decided to demand a refund and subsequently post a negative review, with you having failed to give a real opportunity to improve your stay to suit your bed preference. Such a request absolutely would have been willingly and quickly accommodated, along with a full explanation of how to best use the available seating and access additional furniture, if it had been required.
