  • "Mostly very good but felt as if it had been well equipped but allowed to drift."

In particular, the kitchen felt poorly equipped. There was no cafetiere or corkscrew and the knives were very poor. Otherwise, a good stay.

Thank you so much for your feedback I will definitely replace these items.Glad you had a good stay Property Owner

  • "Great house and location, lovely views in particular from the top bedroom."

Communal areas worked very well for us with plenty of options. Well kitted out kitchen. Very clean. Just a couple of things that did not detract from our enjoyment but that I need to mention. Firstly, on arrival there was no toilet roll; if this is meant to be the case then it must be mentioned so guests know to bring their own and if it is meant to be provided then please take this as a reminder. Secondly, there were only 5 towels for 6 guests and 2 of them were only hand towels. Luckily we had brought a couple ourselves otherwise this would have been a bigger complaint. All in all very enjoyable stay, thanks.

Hi glad you had a great stay thank you so much for your feed back I will definitely feed this back to housekeeper as there should be loo roll and towels for all guests Property Owner

  • "We had a great week, walking and cycling."

The house was very comfortable. There is a lovely, sunny garden area to sit in. Based on the description we were only expecting a yard.

Thank you glad you had a good stay Property Owner

  • "Really pleased with our stay."

Property was very clean, well equipped, well designed and nicely decorated. Not a massive kitchen table if you are all eating together, but lots of bedroom space for the sleeping arrangements. Limited parking right outside, but lots of free parking nearby. A washing up bowl would be handy in the kitchen sink. Very good location in Sedbergh, we would stay again if returning to the area.

Thank you very much for your feed back . So glad you enjoyed your stay . The kitchen table is extendable I can definitely provide a washing up bowl. Thank you Property Owner

  • "The property was well appointed and very clean and comfortable."

Appliances worked well, and soft furnishings were comfortable and beds comfy and warm. Bathroom is well set up. A couple of points - there are clear guidelines for tidiness expectations but there was no equipment to clean up if we had a mess (no hoover, no proper dustpan and brush) so that is difficult. The oven is also a bit temperamental and can go off suddenly, or makes noises as heating up to be aware. Helon gave us her number and was really helpful with our questions. A really nice cottage, would stay again

Thank you so much for all your feedback. Definitely taking on board your comments.Glad you enjoyed your stay. Best wishes Property Owner

About the location

SEDBERGH

Kendal 11.5 miles; Kirkby Lonsdale 11.8 miles, Hawes 15.8 miles.

The attractive old market town of Sedbergh (pronounced Sed-Ber), with its old-world atmosphere, is not only set in the magnificent western dales of the Yorkshire Dales National Park but is also close to the rugged eastern fells of the Lake District. The town, with its narrow streets, little shops, traditional pubs, famous school dating back to 1525 and its 12th century church, has been a thriving community for hundreds of years, with a market dating from the 13th Century. Leading from Sedbergh is Dentdale, the jewel of the Yorkshire Dales with its rolling hills and dry-stone walls, stretching 14 miles from the windswept moors below Whernside to the confluence of the Rivers Dee and Rawthey. At the centre of the dale is Dent, with its cobbled streets, which has existed since Norman times and nearby Dent railway station is on the renowned Settle-Carlisle railway line. There are three golf courses nearby, as well as tennis, riding, and fishing, and the area is a paradise for walkers, ramblers, runners, and cyclists. This, together with the tranquillity of the surrounding valleys, the two National Parks and it being England's book town, makes an ideal year-round holiday destination.
