Our fourth visit and the next is already booked. Everything you need is provided and Fiona is very welcoming but never intrusive. The cottage is spotless and everything is so well cared for. The beds are extremely comfortable and there is plenty of space for everyone. The ideal place for a peaceful, relaxing break.

and didn't want to leave. Beautiful location surrounded by the cows, sheep and wallabies. The house was perfect, very spacious, very clean and provided everything we needed. I will definitely go back again and would highly recommend it. We were a party of seven of varying ages. The only minor things which would've helped us for the older members would have been carpet on the stairs and maybe a hand rail in the downstairs shower room but that didn't stop everyone enjoying themselves.

The kitchen dining is a big space perfect for enabling everyone to be together whilst preparing meals or just as a place to enjoy a drink. The living room, also spacious, has very comfortable furniture and easily accommodates 8-10 people without feeling crowded. The log burning stove is a nice touch. All of the rooms have quality furniture and most importantly comfortable beds. The garden is a huge (great for our 2 Shibas to run around in) and is well cared for with amazing views. There isn't a thing I could fault with this property and we look forward to going back in summer. Everything is finished to a high quality. The host is also super friendly which helped make the stay all the better.

Ideal for large family groups - there were eight of us. Well equipped with everything provided that you could possible want to make it feel like a home from home. Only negative comment to make would be that the light weight rugs in some of the bedrooms tended to slip on the polished floor. My solution was not to use the rug at my side of the bed but heavier rugs or non-slip backing would be better. Other than that we had a great holiday and I would certainly recommend this property.

The views from the house were fantastic, and everybody enjoyed the week, walking, some of us birdwatching, our son playing golf, and our grandson having 6 hours of driving lessons. We also visited Lancaster, some of us had a tour of the Castle, and others went shopping. The kitchen was very well equipped, and we mastered the Alpha range to make some great meals. The only criticisms, which are minor ones, are that the bathrooms would benefit from having shelves or a cabinet for storage of toiletries etc., and the rugs in the kitchen and living room were curling at the corners, and could be a trip hazard. All the family wanted to book for next February half term, but unfortunately someone has already beaten us to it! Usherwoods Dairy was the best place we have been to for our annual get together - finding another place as good will not be easy!

We experienced total quiet which was extremely relaxing and looked out onto green fields containing cows sheep. Not to mention the wallaby at the property. We were a party of three generations including a baby and a good time was had by all . The cottage is nicely furnished with good appliances and once we had mastered the cooker it was no problem feeding 11 of us. The cooking utensils came in every size and the kitchen was very clean as was the rest of the cottage. There is an enclosed garden which was perfect for the children and our family dog. Fiona welcomed us and was available for our only problem of a fuse blowing . Both Sainsbury’s and Tesco’s delivered our daily food and we used the local butcher Horbys who delivered huge amounts of sausages, bacon and eggs. I think this is one of the best holiday homes we have rented from Sykes.
