  • "I really enjoyed staying here."

The site was lovely and peaceful, pleasant walk along the railway track into Keswick and plenty of walks straight from the door. Decor is a little tired, but I was comfortable, had everything i needed and a problem with the cooker was fixed quickly.

  • "Property is in lovely location but is tired and old fashioned."

Expensive for what it is. For prices they’re charging, owners need to upgrade property (ie better bed / up to date decor / shower that works without getting scolded!) Prices across UK have had to increase due to spiralling costs. Holiday lets, hotels, Air B&Bs in turn have had to become more competitive / up their game to attract customers. To rely on location alone is lazy and shortsighted.

  • "Bed mattress was uncomfortable , woke up very stiff ."

There is a wasps nest in the cavity walls , you can see where the wasps are flying in and out of the roof ( lady at reception seen this also ) she's going to sort it . They keeps buzzing 24/7 . This aside the lodge was lovley and so was the site and facilities . I would return again but stay somewhere else unless the wasps get sorted as it keeps yoh awake all night

  • "Bad points ……Sofas too small and uncomfortable."

Windows not fitting correctly causing cold draughts. Kitchen chairs wobbly and dangerous. Tv too small for room. Good points….. location is excellent layout of cabin excellent, parking excellent. General…. We have stayed at numerous properties here at low briery and always have had a lovely time, this time was no exception. We would recommend and return. :]

  • "We requested pet free accommodation from Sykes cottages but we could smell dogs in elm lodge."

So wasn’t overly happy with that. Phone signal non existent. The lodge was advertised as having WiFi but that was constantly dropping out. Also the heating and hot water stopped working the night before we checked out. Comfort and cleanliness were ok. Hence the 3 star rating.
