  • "Lovely, clean accommodation within a few minutes walk to the beach."

The Beach Cafe is next door and does a fab breakfast and also does takeaways. It closes at 17:30 so there's no noise in the evenings. Popas bar and restaurant further down the road is great too. Only a minor issue in the property was lack of crockery, just 2 dinner plates and 3 pasta bowls. N.B. bring mozzie repellent as we were bitten a few times but it didn't spoil our holiday. Would love to return again to Samphire!

Hi Caroline, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I’m so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in Samphire. Thank you for letting us know that our crockery cupboard was depleted. Our wonderful cleaners have restocked everything. We hope you choose to stay again x Property Owner

Just a couple of recommendations to consider the WiFi wasn't a strong signal and we appreciated having the use of the highchair would be great if a portable cot bed may be added in the future. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Samphire and I am sure we will return in the future.

Hi Deborah, Thank you for your review which we appreciate! We are glad you enjoyed your holiday at Samphire and will look at supplying a travel cot for the future. Best wishes, David and Kelly Property Owner

  • "Lovely property, well laid out, everything within Samphire is faultless."

It's comfortable and very clean. The only thing that let it down was the garden. The grass is patchy and overgrown in some areas. It lacks a bit of TLC. It would be have nice to have some comfortable seating for relaxing in the garden. The picnic table and metal chairs (which were meant for the front I think, but previous holidaymakers probably moved them) weren't comfortable enough to sit on if you wanted to sit for a while. There were two wooden chairs on the top garden, but they were absolutely covered in bird droppings. Although I can understand that it would be very difficult to keep on top of that. If the garden is tidied up a bit we would love to come back next year. We enjoyed walking Jack (the dog) on the beach, along the lane to the fields and along the path at the top of the sand dunes. We were very fortunate to have great weather all week. A quiet, relaxing and peaceful holiday. The owners did a fantastic job when they renovated Samphire.

Hi June, Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we really appreciate it! We are really happy you enjoyed your stay at Samphire. We are sorry you found the garden a little scruffy, we have now dealt with this and provided additional deck chairs for the garden which are stored in a new garden storage box, so hopefully will keep the plentiful bird life off them! We will also add two sun lounges for next season. Unfortunately the rabbits, badgers and birdlife are all part of being in the dunes, as is the sun which on a sandy lawn makes it difficult to keep the grass in great condition all summer. We will do our best though and will re seed again in October after the season has finished. we hope you choose to stay with us again. Best wishes, David and Kelly Property Owner

  • "Weather spoilt holiday, cold for June, property was fine, parking and drive to property was bad and garden needed a lot of care, cutting the grass would have helped."

Part of the garden was very steep and could have done with a small gate so it could be shut of.

Hi Sandra, Thanks for taking the time to leave this review which we really appreciate. We know the parking is tight its one of the challenges of staying in Anderby Creek, but we hope the location makes up for it! Noted your comments on the garden, have spent more time on this now and have also added more garden deck chairs. Will look into adding a gate for the upper garden in the closed season. Thanks again for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "What a lovely place."

samphire was spotless. It had everything we needed for a great break. The rooms were well decorated and the kitchen area was well stocked with every utensil you need. It's a great location for anderby beach and within a short drive of chapel at Leonard's and mablethorpe. We wil definitely stay here again.

  • "Lovely place, cleaner than a lot of places I have stayed but I am so sorry I can't give a higher rating."

Parking was virtually impossible for one car never mind 2. It took me lots of to-ing and fro-ing to get the car onto the blocked paving. The track in front is access to other properties so you can't overhang onto it. Cleanliness and comfort are extremely important, and whilst I am happy with how well the bungalow is kept, although someone elses clothes were left in a drawer, I have had no sleep. What is going on with the bed? When you feel the mattress it feels lovely, but when you get into bed there's a distinct ridge down the centre which means you are fighting not to roll to the edge of the bed all night long regardless of which side you sleep. At a petite 5' this shouldn't be happening. I spent nights awake and days dozing on the sofa, so my holiday was in fact not a holiday at all. Yes, I tried anothre double bed but that was on a slant too. I am leaving for my second part of my 'holiday' feeling absolutely shattered. Pros: Clean Cons: Bed, parking

Hi Maria, Thanks for your review and I'm glad you found it very clean. I understand your comments about parking, it is a little tight and requires a little back and forth. Houses with parking spaces so close to the beach are at a very high premium in Anderby Creek, so we hope its a small price to pay for such a great location. I'm sorry you found the beds uncomfortable, they are all brand new so I'm really sorry they didn't suit you. Property Owner

  • "Lovely and light home from home which is really well located for the beach."

Well equipped, clean and comfortable. Take heed of the parking advice as it is very tight for a larger vehicle (we have a Galaxy and managed with some maneuvering). Everywhere is dog friendly and the beaches are sandy, wide and there's an amazing feeling of space. Lots of wildlife to spot, too. Definitely recommend for a relaxed family holiday!
