This is why we've partnered with Sustonica, the first global certification for holiday lets,
to support our owners to be more sustainable.
The Sustonica certification focuses on four key areas: energy conservation, water conservation,
waste reduction and promoting inclusiveness. They are on a mission to become the most widely
recognised sustainability standard for holiday rentals and a catalyst to reduce emissions of holiday
lets and influence guests to reduce their own household consumption too.
Properties that display the Sustonica badge have successfully passed the criteria,
which align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council standards,
and their owner has made a commitment to look after our planet as well as you.

"We booked The Granary barn conversion in October because it was all on one level and dog friendly for our pooch."
The property is lovely - spacious, comfortable and clean. It was tastefully kitted out, with ceramic floors throughout, ample crockery and kitchen equipment, and quality linens. Handy parking next to front door. It is a quiet rural area with everything you might need for a very restful holiday. We enjoyed visiting historic Lincoln Cathedral, shopping in Newark and Retford and magical Sherwood Forest. Sue was a delightful and welcoming hostess. Highly recommended.

Near to several towns to visit. Local pub a short walk away serving good beer and lovely food. Apartment contains everything you need . Owner very welcoming and extremely friendly with plenty of good advice as to where to go. Good comms from owner as well. Would highly recommend this place

The cottage was comfort and clean. Good amount of kitchen equipment, lovely views from the property and quiet country lanes to go for a walk. The cottage was lovely and warm, as when we stayed the weather was very frosty and cold. Visited Lincoln Cathedral which was lovely but very cold inside.

Great spot for a couple, good location for exploring a new area for us.
One minor piece of feedback is that in the short summer nights the bedroom got really bright in the early morning which made sleep hard. Blinds or curtains that were better at blocking the light would be good.

"The Granary is in a beautiful countryside setting yet close to main routes for visiting surrounding areas."
It is set in a quintessential English village with a great village pub, which we highly recommend. The accommodation is very clean, comfortable & beautifully presented with everything you could want or need. The owners are on hand & very helpful to answer any questions you may have.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this lovely apartment for a get away from it all break, and we look forward to another visit in the future.

It has some stylish touches and is in a quiet location, with an outside seating area. Lincoln and Newark are a short drive away. Sarah and Sue did everything to make us feel at home. We really enjoyed ourselves.

"I travel fairly extensively through the UK and I tend to rent apartments or cottages rather than use hotels."
The cottage was very tidy and clean, unfortunately the owner may need get up to speed with modern times the TV was very small, was not smart, if they're not going to supply Netflix or something similar at least a smart TV
Also its probably the 1st time I've been charged to use a washing machine.
Thank you for your feedback. Since your stay the owner has replaced the TV with a larger smart TV.

"Sarah and Sue were the perfect hosts living next door in the farm house adjacent to The Granary."
It is an idyllic location in the countryside with plenty of local attractions and quaint villages and towns to visit. Clumber Park is a mere 20 min drive away, Half an hour sees you in Sherwood Forest!
The Granary facilities are of great quality and numerous. The farm animals (pets!) are friendly and fun , giving you a warm welcome when they see you by the gates .
My wife and I had a great stay here and will definitely be staying here again!

"We have never felt so relaxed on a weekend break before, Everything was spotlessly clean, comfy bed nice hot powerful shower."
Sue and Sarah were the perfect hosts, Sue waited for us to arrive even though it was late, Sarah offered to pick us up from a wedding we had, they both went above and beyond to help us wherever it was needed.
We will definitely be returning.

The location is well placed to enable us to explore the Lincolnshire countryside. As members of the National Trust we had lots of places to visit. Newark was a lovely town to visit and even the weather didn't dampen our spirits. One thing visitors need to do which is to find out the costs of entry to some attractions as some can be expensive for 2 adults like Lincoln Castle. Not good value for money at £13.50 pp. plus parking.

The property
This delightful cottage was originally the grain store for this working livestock and arable farm, but has now been lovingly transformed into a cosy rural retreat, nestled on the edge of the village of Askham.
This lovely ground floor apartment has underfloor heating throughout, making it warm and cosy no matter what time of year you visit.
The open plan living area has every comfort on hand with a kitchen, dining area and a sitting area, from which you can enjoy a timeless view of the orchard.
The Granary is surrounded by pleasant country lanes, perfect for a relaxing walk or bike ride in these beautiful surroundings.
The village inn serves locally produced food and real ales, which is just the ticket for ending a perfect day.
This fantastic apartment is perfectly placed for exploring every taste from countryside to city.
Historic Lincoln offers a vibrant and contemporary day out with plenty of things to keep everyone busy.
There is plenty of history on offer with its medieval cathedral and a copy of the Magna Carta housed at the castle.
Why not walk the castle walls and take in the views across the city?
The National Nature Reserve of Sherwood Forest is a short drive away and was once part of a royal hunting forest.
The area now covers 450 acres with plenty of walking and cycling routes, and includes some ancient trees, some of which are over 500 years old.
The Granary offers a perfect retreat for that special break, whatever time of year.

Askham is a small rural Nottinghamshire village just off the A57 and close to the A1. The village has a pub. Sherwood Forest is just 11 miles away, with the Robin Hood visitors centre providing wonderful woodland walks including to the renowned Major Oak tree, with picnic areas also available. The National Trust's Clumber Park has 3,800 acres of spectacular scenery where you can walk or cycle, gardens, and a lake with 200 species of birds. The Wetlands Waterfowl Reserve is seven miles away with 32 acres of fishing lakes and woodland, along with an exotic birds sanctuary and animals. The area offers galleries and museums, while the Roman city of Lincoln, 17 miles away, has a cathedral and castle, and historic Newark, 15 miles away, has two castles, frequent antiques fairs, a fine Georgian market square and a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants.
