"We were made very welcome and the property was perfect for our needs with WiFi thrown in, all at a very competitive price."
Great value for money. Exploring South Lincolnshire was made easy by our location, and the cottage was lovely to return to at the end of the day. Sykes Cottages definitely gets our vote !

"We had a lovely stay at Carrington Cottage."
It was very clean and comfortable. It is in a very peaceful location and the garden was beautifully maintained, our dogs had access to the garden which was perfect for us. All in all it is everything you could ask for and we would definitely book again.
-
"Comfortable, quiet accommodation in the middle of the Lincolnshire countryside."
It is a good position for trips into beautiful cathedral city of Lincoln, the surrounding area, and coast. The cottage is opposite the owner with a family member living in accommodation ajoining Carrington cottage so any queries are well catered for.

"Carrington Cottage was the ideal base for us to stay whilst returning to our old home City to meet up daily with relatives & friends."
The photos online need updating, as all photos show towels - on the beds, in both the cloakroom & bathroom. We coped with kitchen-roll the first night (!) it was a 9 hour journey & all we wanted to do was unwind & sleep & borrowed from friends for the rest of our stay. Looking back online it IS in the description, in the small print right at the bottom, but I went by the photos! It's in a lovely setting, so very peaceful, our 2 dogs loved the fields behind the farm (which had no animals in them) - I relished the lovely quiet & peaceful area. We were a tad concerned on our first night, as the heating went off about 8pm & to be honest, we were cold (what a dreadful winter/spring we're all experiencing), but from then on, it was around 10pm - there is no way of altering the heating from inside Carrington cottage. We did find a fan heater in the smaller bedroom which held the wardrobe, so that was used to warm the bedroom before sleep! All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

"Good location for visiting Lincoln and surrounding towns."
Property very clean, warm and comfortable. The owners were friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay but were grateful that the flat above wasn’t occupied while we were there. Reading the guest book comments - it’s obviously not very well sound proofed. Might be worth checking before you book if you think it may bother you.

"Lovely peeps Lake fishing out standing can not wait to go back"

"It was a lovely cottage it was very clean and the beds were very comfortable it ..."
It was a lovely cottage it was very clean and the beds were very comfortable it was just the road to get to it but we were very lucky only met car twice and a bit far from shop but after saying that we are older if we were younger we would not have minded but would definitely recommend it

"We had a great week in the cottage in a lovely setting despite the floods."
The cottage was warm and clean and just right for exploring the area.
-
"Only 1 small trivial thing and that was it wasn't the most comfortable of beds."
.and it was a little low to the floor...but everything else was excellent.. beautiful location.. especially when you need to escape the noise of fast paced Life
-
"A perfect gem for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful peace of the country."
Beautiful garden and apartment, cosy and homely. A great find.
-
"The cottage was lovely, clean and well maintained."
We were greeted in a friendly manner when we arrived, and the owners were very accommodating.
-
"Owners were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble."
The cottage has everything we needed and was very warm and comfortable. A beautiful setting and very peaceful.
-
"Lovely location and peaceful."
Views and walks from cottage were stunning. Very well appointed and handy to have owners onsite for minor issues. Owners were very accomodating and laid back.. Really enjoyed our stay as the owners made us very welcome but the noise from the upstairs flat was very noticeable with every noise at 0530am etc being heard ie dog dropping ball on the floor constantly and doors opening.. Patio area needs a weed treatment. Enjoyed our stay and the area and the cottage but wouldnt probably stay in the groundfloor flat again due to the noise intrusion from above.

"Lovely 2 weeks - great walks on the door for the dogs."
Super garden. Facilities all good. Carole and John were extremely helpful and welcoming. Good luck with the wedding. Would be good if the cottages had use of a shared washing machine.
-
"Our second stay in five weeks."
As previous stay, relaxing and pleasant - no hassles, niggles or negatives. Hosts friendly, I'm sure they would have dealt promptly with any problems if there had been any.
-
"Lovely setting, looking over at the Abbey ruin, countryside and the main house was really nice, and it was quiet."
Good size downstairs accommodation, with 2 bedrooms, en-suite, very good size, and a second toilet which was very handy, even though there was only 2 of us. Nicely laid out kitchen, with essential items provided. Had no problem using the oven and microwave, glad to see they were basic models so easy to use. Heating came on at essential times, that was good, no having to play about with a boiler you're not used to. No problem parking, lots of space. The road leading down from the main road was longer than we thought it would be, partly because we were there about 9pm, so it was very, very dark, and we thought we'd gone wrong. All in all highly recommended, Carole was very friendly and helpful. Thank you for letting us stay on your farm.

"A very clean, cosy and comfortable apartment in a quiet location surrounded by green fields, yet only a 20 minute drive from Lincoln city centre."
The apartment is well equipped and warm. On arrival we were welcomed by the owners, which made it even more special. It was our first holiday with our dog and we absolutely loved it. We will definitely be back soon.
-
"The most relaxing accommodation we have ever stayed in the UK."
Spotlessly clean, no frills but everything that is needed for a comfortable stay. So good that we have already booked to go back in a few weeks time.
-
"Great location."
Host was very attentive and the property was very clean and comfortable.
-
"We loved this property."
It was just what we wanted, snug, comfortable, quiet. Our two dogs loved it too. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We would certainly come back.
-
"Beautiful place to stay with everything you will need for a self catering break away."
Very warm apartment! Unavoidable noise from the upstairs apartment. Lovely area for walks and history our dogs loved their walks both around the local area and the beaches which were a fairly short drive away. The hosts were lovely.
-
"Lovely peaceful location yet close to the beautiful city of Lincoln."
-
"Carrington Cottage was a lovely place to stay, quiet and beautiful."
It was in the perfect location for walking and near enough to easily drive to the sea for the day. The cottage itself was spotless and the owners had taken care to think of everything that would make it comfortable. We enjoyed having lovely neighbours who were friendly but getting on with their own lives and holidays. Thank you.
-
"We had a lovely week - our first time in Lincoln, and it will not be our last."
The hosts were welcoming and friendly, and the cottage was spotless, with everything we needed for a week's stay. Although the weather was very mixed we enjoyed sitting out to eat in the garden and played a quick 'round' of golf! The sunrise and sunsets here are spectacular, as are the birds that visit the garden. The road up to the property is quite narrow and a little worse for wear in parts, but nothing our car could not cope with. This is a great base to visit the area. Lincoln itself is lovely, as are many of the local towns. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would visit again. Many thanks to the hosts who have clearly given a lot of thought about what people need on their holidays.

"Well presented, warm and cosy property with lovely views."
Nice to be greeted by the owner on arrival. Use of garden and access to open countryside and public footpaths from the front door a great bonus especially for dog owners. Comfortable double bed, lots of hot water to enjoy a soak in the huge en suite bath. The property would benefit from a few additions such a hairdryer, freezer (difficult though to fit in the small kitchen) a couple of small and medium size pyrex bowls, couple of wooden spoons, replace the worn out plastic measuring jug and baking sheet. Guests need to be aware that access to the property is reached by a roughly surfaced farm road. Noise from guests in studio flat above may be an issue at times.
Hi Jo-Anne, thank you for your feedback. As requested by a few guests we have now installed an under-counter fridge/freezer, as your request wooden spoons, Pyrex bowls and baking trays have been replaced new. There was always a hairdryer available just as discussed on arrival, ask for anything you need. In the cottage description we have asked Sykes to make it known access is a single track country lane which facilitates the isolation and solitude that makes Carrington Cottage such a special place. "We loved Carrington, lovely garden so sit in had the weather been nice!"
Just a little isolated in the evenings but we didn’t mind. Not a lot going on in the nearest villages but there was some nice pubs which were dog friendly and did lovely food.
-
"We and our small grandson enjoyed our holiday and the outside space just what we needed with 6yr old."
Owners lovely nice and quite.A freezer would have been helpful as no shops nearby.Would recommend

Helpful hosts. Quiet location.

"A wonderful week spent at Carrington Cottage; the location is idyllic for peace & quiet and getting away from it all - all you can hear is birdsong."
The cottage was very comfortable and modern and the owners, who live on site, are very friendly.
-

-
"We had a great week at Carrington Cottage."
There was a warm welcome on arrival and the cottage had everything we needed. It is about 5 miles outside Lincoln so provided a great base for exploring both the city itself and the surrounding countryside. We would strongly recommend Carrington Cottage to anyone planning an extended visit to that area.
-
"Brilliant setting, lots of lovely places to visit locally peaceful surroundings, Owners were fantastic, greats walks really close by, very dog friendly."
-

The cottage was beautiful in a lovely setting would definitely stay again.
-
"This is a lovely place."
Quiet and comfortable. The hosts Carole and John are friendly and supportive, not intrusive. If you want a quiet relaxing break, but still want easy access to a city and its facilities this place could not be better. Excellent for walks and relaxing. Great for dogs. I heartily recommend this property and will be returning.
-
"Hi end spec with netflix tv (unexpected)."
Very helpful hosts with a nice area to run around with dog. Only drawback ,being older the seating was quite low and while comfortable, was not easy to get up from. Otherwise had a good time with Lincoln being close by for sightseeing
-
"Very nice accommodation, lovely owner who respected privacy."
Everything was available in the cottage, it was really clean. Lots to see and do around the local area, especially for the military minded. I was sorry to leave after the week, so much had I enjoyed the visit
-
"I chose Carrington Cottage as a base for exploring and photography, it did not disappoint."
I was greeted by the very friendly owners who respected my privacy too. Very cosy and warm cottage with high quality fittings. Stunning countryside all around, with the Viking Way on your doorstep. Great place if you like wildlife too. I would definitely book again.
-
"The flat is very warm and well equipped."
It is very rural and easy to miss in the dark, so read the directions well. We may have been unlucky with the neighbours in the flat above during our stay, as they were so noisy. It sounded like they were running up and down all day! My only gripe is that the sofa isn't very comfortable and is quite low and may be difficult for anyone with mobility issues to get off, I have bad knees and struggled.
-
"The cottage was in our standards a 5 star rating."
We would highly recommend this cottage and location to anyone who wants to have a relaxing holiday. Our hosts were extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly. Don’t just take our word for it experience it yourselves and you won’t regret it.
-
"This cottage is an ideal retreat."
Lovely and quiet but within easy reach of Lincoln. Fixtures and fittings are excellent and to a very high standard. Carol and Jon are very welcoming but also respect your privacy. Highly recommended.
-
"Well positioned for the quietness of the countryside but still only 15-20 minutes from Lincoln."
The cottage was warm and comfortable and suited the two of us very well as a starting point for going out but also as relaxing base for days in when the weather wasn't so good.
-
"No it was a lovely area and a beautiful location so quite."
-
"Had a fantastic time at Carrington cottage everything was perfect local shops were nearby the owners were lovely people there if you needed them, the cottage had everything that you needed would definitely recommend it, peaceful and relaxing would love to return in the future."
-
"This holiday suited our needs excellently as we have 2 active spaniels, and the owners were most accommodating towards them."
We could open the cottage door and let them out to run on the very large garden. As a warning, perhaps holiday makers should be aware this cottage is situated deep in the countryside...ideal for bird watching and spotting, but not for sufferers of hay fever. Also the footpaths went through fields of cows, which can be a bit alarming sometimes.
