  • "The property was stunning."

The facilities were awful there was hardly any entertainment for our children they moved a show without telling anyone. When going for food got asked to see one of eight passes never hot asked again the passes cost 150 pounds. When tried to book activities which you needed the passes for couldn't fully booked. Swimming bath way too small only got in once due to damande of others pool too small. Food we had there 4 burgers 4 drinks 85 pounds food was small and cold. Had to go out to Skegness to entertain the children and myself. Or we were just either sat in the lodge or sat in a bar. The lodge was fantastic the facilities very very poor you would think there would be day time activities thou out the day. The activities were also very expensive to say I had already purchased park passes I felt it was a let down for my children and myself.

  • "We loved our stay at Osprey Lodge."

It’s a beautiful lodge and we loved that it was in a quieter area of the park. The beds were super comfortable and hot tub was very well used! If I had to mark it down at all it would be for the sheer number of cobwebs, inside and outside. I’m terrified of spiders and as the outside furniture was covered in cobwebs I couldn’t sit out and enjoy the view. There are also lots of cobwebs inside, round picture frames and lamps, clocks etc. these have not appeared over night they’ve been there for quite some time. Other than that it’s a gorgeous place and I’d happily stay again

Sorry to hear about your problems with spiders at Osprey Lodge. Because of the location of the Lodge we’re in a constant battle with the spiders. Before your stay the Lodge was pressured washed and is always thoroughly cleaned from top to bottom. But I have taken on board your comments and will talk to the cleaners. Thanks for taking the time to write this review. Regards Rick Property Owner

  • "Beware when booking through Sykes holiday cottages."

No where in the description does it mention a tariff of £240 when staying in the Lodge. A levy imposed to use the onsite facilities. This additional cost is regardless of how many of the occupants want to use the passes. The owner was contactable but unable to assist. The position of the Lodge is spectacular, although the accommodation and decking all looking very “ tired”. Needless to say we didn’t purchase the obligatory passes which does indeed refuse rights of access to nearly all the facilities. A day out to Jubilee Park in Woodhall Spa was enjoyable…and fortunately the weather was kind. This weekend wasn’t the best of experiences…Sykes Holidays you disappoint!! Get your facts straight before you start advertising!!!

Thank you Mrs Booth for your feedback. Although I think you’ll find it does state on Sykes Cottages website that entertainment passes are not included in the price of your holiday at the time of your stay the passes were classed as peak the normal price is £95.00 for 8 passes I also think your review is unfair, I say this because you stated to me over the phone that because of the situation with the passes you were going to give my Lodge a bad review regardless of how your stay in Tattershall was. I even called Sykes and asked them to find you alternative accommodation which you refused. Kind regards Rick Stevenson. Property Owner

We absolutely love the lodge and have even booked for another year. The lodge has everything you need in it, even a high chair, bib and cutlery for children. There's plenty of seating inside and outside too. On the site there's a few restaurants, 2 pools and entertainment, although you need passes to access that you can get via the owner. The lodge itself is situated on the Jet Ski lake, in the day time you can watch people jet skiing and in the evening the sun sets over the lake and geese, ducks and swans come out to feed on the jetty.

We've been to Tattershall lakes before so we knew we'd enjoy the facilities BUT Osprey Lodge just added and enhanced our trip, the view over Jet Ski lake was perfect, everything was clean, tidy and comfortable. The Hottub was clean and set up so you could relax from the moment of arrival. Although there isn't a dryer there were plenty of radiators which could be used to dry bathing suits and towels. Everything was easy to use including the heating (it was quite bright but cold while we're there) Osprey lodge is also perfect for people with mobility issues, it's all on one level, easily accessible and you can see the whole view from the comfort of the living room. Communications with the owner was great and friendly. Fantastic would recommend.

It was like home from home and everything was perfect. We’ve never slept better as the bed was the comfiest we’ve ever been in. It is in a quiet location which is lovely and peaceful, we enjoyed watching the jet skis on the lake whilst in the hot tub and my partner is a huge fan of RAF planes so this was spot on for us as the view we got of the planes flying was phenomenal. Everything was very clean we loved absolutely everything about this place. We didn’t want to leave. We will 100% be returning, we can’t wait to come again. The communication from Ricky was amazing and I knew I could message him and get a quick response if I needed anything. Thank you so much again. It was the most perfect week.

Outside space is overlooked by trees so you do get bits of tree bits on decking etc but hell it's nature and was nice to have less people over looking you. Owner of lodge was nothing but helpful if we had any questions and very quick to respond on message. So homely and welcoming. And had everything we needed and more for our trip! Had a few issues but they were quickly sorted by the owner. Fab communication between the owner and ourselves. But Sykes cottages didn’t tell us it was only 1 dog when we requested 2 and were told it was fine as long as they are well behaved on two different occasions which didn’t go down well with the owner. But after explaining it was fine with him. We won’t be booking again with sykes cottages due to this as it ruined our night. Not the owners fault but sykes. Never the less tattershall the a great place to go and this lodge was a wicked stay so thanks.

The lodge is fantastic, large, spacious with plenty of room for everyone. All the beds are very very comfy. Very noisy at times from the planes taking off and landing but this didn’t bother us at all as we loved watching them. We have stayed in 3 or 4 other lodges at Tattershall Lakes but this one has definitely been the best one and will looking at booking again for next year.

  • "The inside of the lodge is immaculate and stylish."

The outside area is a little different where the whole outside is covered in Cobwebs and pigeon mess. A little bit of attention to the outside with cleaning of Windows, patio cleaned and cobwebs and pigeon mess removed would make this property a dream and worth every penny. The hot tub was a lovely addition although it did have issues which the owner dealt with straight away with no fuss. Once again the cover to the tub is covered in pigeon mess. The table and chairs and recliner were lovely but the same issue with these too. I understand that the property is under trees but for such a fantastic lodge and location it requires to be maintained outside constantly to be classed as perfect. Don't be put off though it still was an excellent choice for a 6 family accommodation. One idea for new arrivals would be a local map of how to find the lodge. A little hand written map would work wonders as we arrived after dark and had no idea on where we were going once on site. No one to help but thankfully the owner happily took our call and directed us. Sue

The whole of the outside was covered in cobwebs and needed a good sweep which is not good when you have two small children crawling around! Although the lodge was advertised as the hot tub being cleaned between bookings there was a tide mark which belied this! We had to pay £120 for an entertainment pass but were unable to use the facilities as everything was booked up, we were not told that we needed to book everything in advance.

  • "We spent 2 nights in this wonderful Lodge."

There were 6 of us, 4 adults, 1 teenager and a child and we all had a lovely time. We had everything we needed from pots, pans, board games, to comfy beds with fresh linen. There was ample fridge & freezer space for our needs. We didn't buy before so went up the local Co-Op in Tattershall to stock up. The hot tub is in a great position and the jetty had a lovely chair which we could sit, relax and watch the world (or jet ski's) go by. Our host was great and contacted us before our trip to make sure we had everything. The host has to organise the leisure passes (at an additional cost) which we paid for but tbh we didn't really use these as we walked to the pub in the local village next to Tattershall Castle (public footpath along the river behind the lodge). All in all we had a lovely weekend and would definitely recommend Osprey Lodge.

The beds are really comfy and the jet bath was an added bonus! We had a little issue with heat in the hot tub but it was sorted immediately, no problem. The position of the lodge was perfect for us and I would love to return. We didn't purchase the entertainment passes as at £95 for access to a tiny pool and bar seemed excessive. However in peak season when everything is open it looks much better value. There is air craft noise from the RAF base but this was minimal, 3 jets flew over during the 4 days lasting about 30 seconds to a minute each. Highly recommended.

  • "We didn't use the site facilities as it was going to cost £120 for guest passes."

This figure could not be reduced even if only some guests wanted it, and it was definitely not value for money in our case. However, that had nothing to do with the property we stayed in, which was excellent, nor did it have anything to do with our host, (the owner of the property), who was also excellent, and spent some time in the first couple of days ensuring that everything was to our satisfaction. The property itself was perfect for us, ticked all the boxes, was spacious, well equipped, comfortable, and the bed was one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in, the depth of the mattress was "wow!" deep! The decking outside was again spacious with ample seating to accommodate eight guests. The hot tub was an absolute necessity for our party, (no hot tub would have been a deal breaker), and it certainly did not disappoint! Although we were situated on the Jet Ski Lake, it was very serene, even with an unprecedented influx of noisy geese on an almost daily basis. We were visited by geese, ducks, swans, a squirrel, and a plethora of other birds, which delighted us all, especially with their close up visits right up to the lodge's private jetty, particularly on Christmas morning. Activity from RAF Coningsby was non-existent because of the time of year, (Christmas), though we wouldn't have minded seeing their jets go over, and loved that the locality had places of interest and some history. We had only one or two jet-skiers out on the lake on most days, including a fabulous Santa jet skier, who made the kids in a lodge a few doors down squeal with delight, and was altogether joyful! We dined out, offsite, on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day at the Lea Gate Inn, and we got a beautiful takeaway Christmas Day three course meal from Shakesby's in Horncastle, who were fully booked for Christmas Day, but offered us the same meal to take away and enjoy at "home", and which was worth every mile of the approx. 22 mile round trip. We also visited a lovely farm shop at Coningsby, and drove out to Boston (about 15 miles) to do our last minute Christmas food shopping, though there are a few local grocery shops nearby to pick up the odd bits, including one on-site. The Lincolnshire landscape is flat and not my usual choice of venue, (being an ex-mountain leader), but the lakeside location of this fabulous lodge did not in any way disappoint. Our only real criticism is for the owners of the Tattershall Lakes site, (not the owner of the Lodge itself), who might like to repair the road on which this lovely holiday home sits, which is a good road right up to the last three lodges, but which then turns into a potholed mess which doesn't do their site justice. Nevertheless, there was ample parking for our three vehicles, which was great, as my family members had different dates on which they could arrive, so could not share vehicles. All in all, this was a great venue, and we loved every minute of our stay here.
