Spacious n tidy throughout. Nice kitchen diner. Comfortable front room with large TV. Used my own Fire stick no problems. Able to drive in and turn my Mini round on driveway. Love the shower. Would book again. Alan.

  • "On arrival a used toilet brush was left in the hallway, along with a multitude of flies."

Left property to buy fly spray, which at least 17 flies were killed. Not a good start, but property was clean. We have never experienced limited temperature and time with central heating before... We both won't return, not recommending.

Thank you for the lovely feedback you left in our visitors book regarding how clean and tidy and well equipped the bungalow is and how you enjoyed the peace and quiet. The cleaners always do a walk through video of the property before new guests arrive clearly stating the date and time of the video. The video they took shortly before you arrived showed no evidence of any flies. They did inadvertently leave a clean toilet brush in the hallway before departing. The max temperature setting is clearly stated in the Sykes website which you would have seen prior to booking your stay and the thermostat settings are clearly explained in the welcome book. Thank you for your positive feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back. Property Owner

It was very reasonable in price, and we had one unfortunate breakage which was paid for and organised in a very straightforward and honest way. Lovely environment and perfect for a small family who wants to spend some time with a cherished relative.

  • "The ideal place to stay in, for a very relaxing break in pleasant village surroundings."

The bungalow more than lived up to our expectations and had everything we needed for an enjoyable holiday break. A minor problem with the heating thermostat was quickly resolved by the owner, John, who "went the extra mile" to ensure it was sorted out for us. Already planning a return visit in the near future!

  • "Enjoyed our holiday very much in Joyray we came away very relaxed."

The only thing I would point out is I took extra frozen food because it said fridge/freezer thinking it was a large freezer but it was only a small freezer compartment in the fridge. Like a cool box.

  • "We had a lovely stay but feel the property could benefit from a washing machine, especially if a family were to stay as there were only 2 of us and we extended our stay to 12 days from 10 but we struggled due to this."

Also perhaps a hairdryer would be beneficial too. But apart from that we really enjoyed our stay over Christmas the Christmas tree which was put up in the lounge was much appreciated and lovely gesture. We really would recommend JoRay it was such a relaxing tranquil and peaceful place

Thank you for the great feedback. Sorry to hear that you struggled due to there being no washing machine. There is no washing machine listed on the Sykes website and we are sorry you didn’t notice this fact at the time of booking. We hope to see you at JORAY again in the future. Property Owner

  • "We stayed at "Joray" last week for a few days."

It was very comfortable, clean, spacious, in a quiet area; and had all the facilities. We would point out the following reservations: for a family there was no washing machine nor dishwasher; & the bed is Queen Size not King Size (but the beds were very comfortable with a lovely warm duvet). Also it would have been useful if some instruction guides had been available, especially on how to work the TV controls! Overall though we had a most pleasant stay in this bungalow.

Thank you for your positive feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Joray. Thanks also for recommending putting in a washing machine and a dishwasher, it is perhaps something we can look into in the future. I apologise that you felt the bed was too small, the bed and bedding were purchased from a reputable supplier with standard King-Size measurements. The instruction guide for the TV controls was in the lounge fireplace cupboard and we shall make this more obvious for future guests. Once again, thank you and we look forward to welcoming you back at some point in the future. Property Owner

There is a wide range of shops including a pharmacy, grocers and two butchers as well as a large shop which specialises in doll’s houses and their contents. Alford has become an important centre for arts and crafts with many markets held throughout the year. The main market is held in the Market Place every Tuesday and Friday with the craft market being held every August Bank Holiday as well as Christmas markets being held every year. Alford is known for its Grade 1 listed working windmill, which is used commercially to produce stone-ground organic flour. Alford Manor House is a central point in the town, with its exhibitions and museum as well as a tea room and open gardens. With Alford being set in the Lincolnshire Wolds, there are plenty of walking and cycling routes to follow or even take a trip to the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway or Claythorpe Watermill and Wildfowl Gardens, where you will find plenty of birds and animals, with plenty of space to sit and relax with great views of the old mill.
