  • "Perfect weekend with family lots of space inside & out."

The house is well equipped everything was provided we just needed pool towels. We were expecting the pool water to be cold we were wrong it was really warm & a decent size. Didn't see the owners but they were just a text/ phone call away & really welcoming & helpful. Many thanks.

  • "This was our second stay at Moortown House."

The combination of bedrooms just nicely fits our multi generational family. The house and kitchen are very well equipped and we were welcomed by a delightful basket of local delicacies, including some honey from bees on the farm. We had a lovely week, the grandchildren and children were in the pool every day, often more than once. There are several places to visit within an hour's drive if a day out is on the agenda. A perfect place to unwind and just be together.

  • "We celebrated our Wedding Weekend in this beautiful house with our family."

The house itself is beautiful in a wonderful setting - the views from the bedroom windows are so lovely. So many facilities including a tennis court, BBQ, fire pit to toast marshmallows, not forgetting of course the indoor heated pool and hot tub. Very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere and the hosts are very friendly, helpful and there if you need them but otherwise not “intrusive” in any way - lovely friendly people. The honey is beautiful!!!! Cannot recommend enough and many happy memories made in this house.

  • "We had a really wonderful stay at Moortown House for an extended family gathering for my husbands 50th."

The property was exactly as listed with plenty of space and a little old fashioned grandeur but super homely and welcoming. The kids (of all ages) loved the pool!, which was always warm (despite traditional British weather). The tennis court and kids play area were also fantastic, with a football net, climbing frame, slide and plenty of space to run around. The little onsite lake and local walks from the door were beautiful; loads of wildlife bees (more varieties than we’ve ever seen!), rabbits, foxes, a huge variety of birds and if you look really closely some tiny fish in the lake. There was much to do we didn’t even get around to using the hot tub or fire pit! The local fishing was great with a few options of fisheries within a 15 minute drive and we enjoyed a day trip to Horncastle with its mtiple antique shops (and there is a cracking sewing/fabric shop). The house was well equipped, beds comfy and enough seating for the whole family of 10. The kitchen was great too with plenty of crockery a huge fridge and freezer, plenty of pans and serving dishes and storage for your shopping. The owners took great care of us, checking we had everything and bringing us honey from their beehives. We would really recommend Moortown House and would love to return for the next big family get together.

  • "Absolutely fabulous."

We hired this for a weekend for 12 friends and we had an amazing time. The owner popped by once to check everything was ok and even gave us some of the homemade honey from the beehives on site, otherwise not bothered at all. Very private with lots of things to do, between the pool, hot tub, tennis court and games provided (croquet on the lawn anyone) we were never bored. Would definitely come back - don't hesitate to book - you won't be disappointed. Oh and they've put a modern heating system in so although the house has got high ceilings it's still lovely and toasty warm.

  • "Great property."

The pool is at a lovely temperature as is the hot tub. The beds are very comfortable with luxury linen. It would be a wonderful place in summer with a good size bbq and seating as well as a summer house. Great outdoor space for children, with play equipment and woods and lake to explore. If I had to criticise anything it would the seating in the sitting room. If there were 12 adults staying there, then there is inadequate settees/armchairs for 12.

The facilities were great and, despite it being February, we used the tennis court, pool and hot tub a lot. The kitchen is well equipped and the table easily seats 12. Our ages ranged from 6 to 70 and it’s a great house for a large family group. The owners live in a part of the property but left us entirely alone, but were contactable if required. We would thoroughly recommend this house.

We had 3 generations who all enjoyed the location and facilities. Very private setting, heated swimming pool was a hit with everyone as was the hot tub with the adults. Rob, the owner, was helpful but left us to enjoy our holiday.

  • "This was the only house I could find with a pool and the right configuration of bedrooms for the family."

Within a couple of hours of arrival the 10yr old grandchildren declared the place 'brilliant'. They could come and go and do what they wanted (within reason and keeping away from the pond). The house is in the country with plenty of walks round about and an exclusive use swimming pool big enough for the 8 of us to mess around in. The house has a nice 'feel' to it, the only draw back is if you have the ground floor room as we did. The floors are laminate and we could hear people moving about in the room above us, it also has the external back door which is closest to the pool etc. so was a bit of a thoroughfare during the day. We've enjoyed it so much that we've just booked for next year!

  • "Our extended family holiday at Moortown House was lovely."

Having a covered swimming pool and the added bonus of a tennis court meant that even when we weren't exploring Lincolnshire there was something for everyone to do. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of crockery and utensils. It felt like a boutique hotel, with robes, towels, toiletries and bags of character. The owners were helpful and friendly when needed and discreet at other times. If you're looking for an older property with history and beautiful grounds to explore then you would be hard pressed to find a better property for a large group.

The facilities are better than the pictures make it look - the house is amazing. And the grounds are brilliant. Lovely fire pit outside where we did toasted marshmallows, nice fruit laden trees, and the area is super. There is a coffee and cake shop just a 5min drive away, and lots of nice walk/running routes all around the house. The owners live just behind and were so friendly and helpful. Super nice people who were both incredibly friendly, but also not intrusive. The pool is brilliant. We took our little twin girls on their first swims here and it was great not to have to worry about being splashed in a busy pool. Also an easy hop off point to lots of places of interest around there: Lincoln, we also went to the Humber Bridge, cleethorpes. Highly recommend the place

The inside of the house needs a little work eg squeaky floorboards, but the owners are aware and are planning some changes. Bathrooms are lovely. Outside facilities are excellent and we had fun playing tennis, cricket etc and enjoying the BBQ and fire pit. If anything, the listing understates the outdoor facilities. It was great to have the pool, which was lovely and warm. Rob and Peidi are very welcoming and helpful and there are nice touches such as books and games to borrow.

  • "A great venue for a large family get together."

Tonnes of space, well set up for children with two having two high chairs and space in every single room for travel cots or trundle beds (provide your own). Nice big kitchen with everything you needed plus teas, coffees, biscuits and crisps, really nice touch. We had a private chef experience and there was plenty of space for him to cook. We also had a masseuse to deliver spa treatments plenty of space and perfectly flexible and welcoming hosts. Loads of seating for our 14 guests and fans for every room which is great for the summer months. Pool was warm and there were inflatables, the roof has definitely seen better days but it did the job and I understand they plan to replace it soon. The shed provides lots of equipment for outdoor games like tennis rackets. There is a fire pit which we hadn’t seen in the advertisement, playground and a nice walk through the grounds. The twin room is downstairs with an external door so not suitable for children unfortunately. The curtains were all translucent which wasn’t ideal for summer months. But I understand they’re currently replacing these. The downstairs is very tired but that shows in the photos and shouldn’t be a surprise. The hosts plan continuous improvement so wouldn’t let that put you off. When renovations are complete this will be an unbeatable venue for family getaways!

  • "Just returned from a wonderful week at Parkland Hall."

The photos provided do not do the property justice. The house is set in a beautiful location, with its own private garden, patio, bbq area and summer house. The tennis court has been resurfaced and has a brand new net. The Swimming pool is the main feature, which is easy to reach from across the lawn. The water was lovely and warm, our kids loved it. It is shallow in one end and goes to 2m at the other, we spent a lot of time in here. The house is really spacious and warm and although it is tired in some places due to the age of the house and some original features, this just added to the character of the property. The main facilities, including kitchen and bathrooms are all brand new and up to date and very clean. Basic, soaps, shower gels, toilet rolls etc were provided. The dining and living area are big and spacious and easily accessed from the kitchen. The only downside we felt was the lack of storage in some of the bedrooms, especially as the bedrooms are so big, but this is something minor and perhaps something to improve on for future. The layout of the property, mainly the upstairs, did take a little getting used to, but this just added to the kids excitement and was another feature of an older property. We visited a few local towns and villages and we must say that this part of the country is beautiful. Lincoln is definitely worth a visit. Also there are some lovely beaches south of Grimsby, they are worth the drive out to. We highly recommend Parkland Hall and would definitely return for another stay.
