Barrow Bridge is an interesting little village, in the township of Halliwell in Bolton, Greater Manchester. Situated on the North West fringe of Bolton, just as it starts to climb up to the moors, this location nestles in a valley cut by Dean Brook on its way down from the hills. It was created in the Industrial Revolution as a model community village for mill workers but since the demolition of the mills is now a residential, picturesque village. There are plenty of walking opportunities available, and you can stroll past the traditional features that remain to this present day. Further afield, Bolton has much to offer from a great range of shops, restaurants and pubs, to a theatre, museum and an aquarium. The incredible city of Manchester is just a short drive away and is certainly worth a visit for an eventful afternoon.
