• "No problems at all with the cottage, wonderful in every way."

  We hope that we left clean and tidy for you. Parking was the only problem, but it was just like being at home, all for one and one for all space. It did not make unloading or loading easy but hey ho, that's how things go. Lovely stay in lovely area.

• "Millside is a beautiful property, perfectly situated to explore the wonderful city of Lincoln."

  The house was spotlessly clean, with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We loved having our breakfast and the odd evening drink in the cute little rear yard, right next to Ellis Mill which is worth a visit in its own right. There are plenty of shops within a very short walk, including a well-stocked Co-Op. As for pubs and restaurants, there are so many great venues, again within easy walking distance. We'd give a special mention to the Plough Boy pub just around the corner, run by the lovely Megan who became a real friend of the family during our week's holiday! Highly recommend this property if you're planning a trip to Lincoln, which I'd also recommend as it's well worth a visit.

• "Millside was very well maintained and clean."

  However the stairs into the upstairs bathroom had a big drop and my sister tripped in the night and banged her head. We did not realise that the stairs upstairs had two steps either side with no rail to hold and was not suitable for the elderly. The one major problem was that although there was a parking permit there was nowhere to park. If we had not had relatives nearby where we could park and they had to pick us up each day we would have been in a muddle especially when we arrived with our luggage.

  Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that you found Millside to be very well maintained and clean, but we are sorry to hear that your sister had a fall whilst staying at Millside and was glad to hear that she is OK. The step down into the bathroom is included in the property description and there is a Mind the Step sign on the bathroom door. We have also supplied an accessible downstairs shower room for this reason. Unfortunately these terraced houses do have 2 steps up to the bedrooms at the top of the stairs and unfortunately there is no wall space to place a handrail. Due to this we are not listed as one of Sykes' accessible holiday lets. We are sorry that you struggled to park your car outside the property. However, the permit zone is quite large and as well as the street outside Millside it does include a further 7 streets. It may have been more difficult to park being peak summer holidays with a lot going on in the cultural quarter of the City. Property Owner

• "Lovely house, everything you could want, decorated to a high standard."

  The welcome pack was much appreciated. The parking was very easy, managed to park literally outside the house.Located 5 mins walk from castle and Lincoln centre . Never used our car the whole week! Also we were lucky with the weather so managed to use the garden,a little sun trap.

• "A super holiday house in a super location for exploring Lincoln."

  The place was spotlessly clean, and the beds and sofas were comfortable, there was also plenty of hot water. I was concerned about the parking, as we have never used parking permits before but we parked with ease all week. There were plenty of things to do and see, plus loads of places to eat within walking distance. I would recommend this holiday home without hesitation. Thank you.

• "We’ve just had a lovely 4 night stay in Lincoln at Millside."

  The house is well-equipped, very clean and has a lovely ambience. It genuinely is suitable for five adults, and is perfectly located within easy walking distance of the Cathedral Quarter. The parking permits were great, and the location meant we could leave our cars for the duration of our stay. This would definitely be our first choice of accommodation, were we to return to Lincoln.

• "What an excellent holiday property!"

  We could not find fault at all , a lovely welcome pack on arrival , a beautifully clean cottage and only a short walk from Lincoln city . Having a parking permit available made it a simple matter to park in the street at the front of Millside. The facilities are great , with a well equipped kitchen , comfortable sofas and beds , very good quality towels and linen . We had a lovely sunny bank holiday weekend and enjoyed sitting in the outside area , admiring the windmill next door . Would not hesitate to recommend

• "Very happy with the property that i stayed at, house was very clean tidy, and had everything you could wish , Also the street was very quite so it was easy to get a good nights rest."

  Plenty of local information to do with Lincoln and the surrounding area was in the house as well. In easy reach of Lincoln city center and the main attractions . Shops of great use on Burton road which was handy as very near by. Overall a great base and very comfy to use while in Lincoln.

• "This is genuinely one of the best holiday cottages I have stayed in."

  Millside is so well designed, such a good use of space. It was spotless when we arrived. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and it is in a fantastic location, local shops, restaurants and pubs just a few minutes walk and in the other direction the city centre. The parking permit was left out ready to use straight away. The treats and milk left were very welcome. The courtyard was lovely to sit out and with the view of the windmill. I would love to return to Millside in the future.

• "The property is beautifully and tastefully decorated to a high standard."

  Spotlessly clean. Parking right outside, we did not need to use our car as walking into Lincoln was easy. Being next to the windmill was lovely and we ate our breakfast in the garden. The welcome pack was nice. Bed was very comfortable. Had a relaxing stay and would love to return.

• "Another fantastic stay at Millside."

  This is a wonderful cottage in a great location. The cottage is beautifully furnished and very comfortable and the little extras in the welcome pack much appreciated. Very easy walking distance to the castle and cathedral and several excellent restaurants which meant we didn't need to use the car that much. However never had any difficulty parking even over the bank holiday. We will definitely be back again! Thank you.

• "Wow what a wonderful home greeted us, the whole house was perfect in design and comfort."

  Everything had been thought of and the welcome gift was an added touch. Parking was perfect, but we decided living so close to all the historic sights, that walking was the better option. We will definitely be returning and the owner deserves praise for their attention to detail. Whoever designed the rooms has excellent taste, even the garden, although simple, was neat and useable with a wonderful view of the windmill.

• "Situation is fantastic."

  In the high part of Lincoln, a short level walk from the castle, cathedral and old town. Even closer is a decent supermarket (2 mins walk) and several takeaways. Parking is not an issue at all. There were always spaces in Mill Road quite close to the house. If you want to move your car right to the house, spaces open up during working hours. The property is a modernized terrace house which is clean, roomy enough and comfortably furnished. Our only negative comment is that the stairs are very steep with shallow treads and you cannot get a strong grip on the handrail provided. Felt a bit precarious when descending,

• "The scores given suggest total contentment with the accommodation."

  Parking outside potentially could have been an issue but Zone 4D obliged graciously. The only thing we would request would be larger bath towels. I hope the owner will be happy with the way we left the house too. Apart form sheets and towels left in clear sacks one would hope it would look like no one had been there. Just nice to get a return thank you.

• "This is a wonderful holiday 'cottage'."

  Absolutely everything you could wish for. We stayed as a couple but would be equally well-suited to a family. Great location for exploring Lincoln which is a beautiful historic city where all encountered were friendly and welcoming. Didn't have to contact owners during the stay but was impressed when I had a query the week before and received a reply within minutes.

• "Property exceeded all expectations generated by the photos online."

  Have never rented such an immaculate cottage before. Perfect location and absolutely no problems with parking. Cosy comfortable stay. Kitchen very well equipped. Lovely bed linen and towels. Suggest two minor additions to house manual - recycling bin goes out every other week, and better description of hot water and heating would have been welcome.

• "Very high quality refurb."

  Very well equipped. The owners provided an excellent welcome pack. Very interesting that next door is a windmill. And it’s an excellent base to explore the very historic Lincoln - ten minute walk to the Cathedral. Despite warnings about the availability of parking, we had two cars and had no difficulty. No hesitation in recommending.

• "Beautiful little terraced cottage."

  Decor throughout is so lovely. Ideally positioned for visiting the cathedral quarter of Lincoln, with its cathedral, castle, cafes, wine bars and restaurants. Kitchen well equipped, modern and easy to use. Having two bathrooms is great - one on both floors. Bedrooms are comfortable and spacious. Two big sofas in the lounge made relaxing in the evening very comfortable. The only thing that was a challenge is the parking. The parking permit is super helpful but trying to park near the cottage was a challenge and I did not feel totally comfortable with not having the car nearby. Car was fine in the end and I’m not sure what the owners can do about such busy parking - perhaps negotiate with the windmill owners to see if they can rent a space in their unused car park and have a key entry system so that it remains private? It didn't impact our holiday at all. Would definitely book again.

• "This is a really lovely place to stay."

  Extremely comfortable and very well decorated. We loved the little garden at the back, with the view of the windmill. The cottage is in a quiet street very close to the castle and the cathedral. There are useful shops nearby and meadow land to walk around. The only thing we could suggest is maybe providing more plates and cutlery.
