  • "This was a fantastic location for our holiday and the property was ideal for our family with lots of space for everyone."

The plums in the garden tasted fantastic and the kids ran around in the large garden. Walks from the property were also great with lovely views as we had the weather on our side. The pantry was well stocked with crockery for our big family meals and we made use of the board games. It's a shame that all future bookings are without dogs as we'll find it difficult to find anywhere quite like this gem again.

There were a few things inside that let it down, one of the bedside lights in the twin room flickers, the ensuite to that room had a bulb out, some of the items we used from the pantry needed to be washed before we could use them and the general cleanliness of the cottage was dubious. However this did not takeaway the enjoyment of our holiday and if you had continued to take dogs we would have definitely stayed with you again

We found it comfortable, beautifully warm and stunning garden, wildlife and skies! We were touched by milk, fruit cake, coffee and tea being provided - after a seven hour journey they were most welcome. The doubled bed mattresses were super comfortable. Couple of minor suggestions: Provide more than one key. More toilet rolls. Bedside lamp in room with single beds flickers - bulb? Thank you for being great hosts x

2nd time we’ve stayed here over the New Year Period. The property offers plenty of room for the family to all get together under one roof. Bonus is we can take the dogs too - shame we won’t be able to rebook in the future as it will no longer be accepting dogs but I understand it’s the owners choice. Saw lots of wildlife including a buzzard and a magnificent stag with the herd.

The kitchen was extremely well equipped. We’d brought all sorts of things to prepare our family Christmas dinner and didn’t need any of them. There was also a very nice basket of food goodies that was very welcome. The upstairs part of the cottage was kept as two separate cottages accessed by two different staircases and this worked very well for us, with the children and their parents in one “wing” and other adults in the other side. If we have a family get-together in this part of the country again we will definitely choose to return to Grange Farm Cottage.

The cottage had everything you needed for a home from home experience. You would need a car if staying here to get to shops etc. The beds were really comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. Although the garden is a wrap around garden you can't see the views unless you go outside the gates, which is a shame but understand why it is like that to keep dogs in. On arrival was a basket of goodies for us and the dogs which was a nice touch. Few things need improving such as garden furniture was very uncomfortable and some falling apart, the smell of strong petroleum-based liquid in the hallway, which gave me lots of headaches and dusting of cobwebs in bedrooms. Overall a really comfy stay with no people around.

Thank you for your feedback. We take onboard your comments. Many thanks. Property Owner

  • "We all had a wonderful stay at Grange farm cottage."

It was a stunning, quiet and relaxing place to stay. Loved that it was surrounded by fields and countryside but only 5 mins from Sleaford for amenities. All the beds were comfortable as was the furniture and love how the cottage was laid out. The dining room was lovely and peaceful just to sit in and do reading or coloring with the kids. We appreciate that it is in the countryside and there will of course be bugs and spiders, however, there was quite a lot of cellar spider activity and cobwebs which had not been cleaned from places for a while as they had dust accumilated on them. There was cobwebs in most of the rooms and even some coming from the dining room tv to the curtains behind it. Under window sills and lower even still under bedstands and behind beds. Some were head height even. I think the cottage would benefit from a deep clean to make sure the cobwebs are gone and maybe it would reduce the amount of spiders!. We loved every other aspect of the cottage though, the garden was a blessing and the kids and dogs loved it. The welcome pack of goodies was appreciated too and the plum loaf was delicious. Thankyou once more!.

Thank you for your feedback. Im glad you had a lovely stay at the cottage, we are onto the cobwebs! At this time of year they are a menace. Kind regards. Property Owner

Would recommend to families with slightly older children as the beaches are 1 hour 20 minutes away. Ideal for a relaxing holiday away from busy towns. The house is already supplied with what you need day to day in the kitchen cupboards and drawers and an iron and hairdryers etc. Toilet rolls are Andrex non quilted so absolutely fine. • "Charming cottage."

We really enjoyed our stay at Grange Farm Cottage. On arrival it was clean and tidy throughout. Nice touches were the welcome box (with tea, coffee, biscuits, cake and milk) and the fresh cut flowers in the dining room. The accommodation was originally two farm workers cottages which had been knocked through on the lower floor to become one. The bedrooms were comfy. The showers (one en-suite and one downstairs) were powerful and probably one of the best showers we have had in all the cottages we have holidayed in. There was also a lovely bright en-suite with a bath. The lounge was comfy with enough arm chairs for us all. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed. The garden was secure so there were no concerns about the dogs when they were outside. There were three separate seating areas outside. A little table with four chairs providing a cool sheltered area, a picnic table around the patio with two loungers and another nearer to the road. The garden was mostly laid to lawn with a few areas planted up with cottage style flowers and a few established trees. The cottage was accessible only by a small No through road which meant it had very little traffic noise. It is surrounded by fields with wildlife corridors. We saw deers, foxes, rabbits, hares, kites, buzzards and barn-owls all from within the cottage or along the road. Because the weather was very hot we stayed close to the cottage visiting Woodland Waters, Culverthorpe Hall and furthest away Rutland Water. All good for dog walking with some shade. We ate out a couple of times at the Horseshoe pub (in Silk Willoughby). The food was great and the staff friendly, we would highly recommend. Also the Four Seasons Garden Centre provided all we needed for a posh ploughman’s. If you want a back to nature, quiet family getaway this cottage is perfect.

If, like us, you wish to cook together there is not a lot of room. Plus no extractor fan, we couldn't find it in case there is one. That was the one minus point for us. All the plus points outweigh the minus one. Really comfortable beds, beautiful location, fantastic for dog owners, etc, etc. Probabily going to hurt for availability but I would definitely recommend this cottage.

I’m nit picking slightly here, all the other pots and pans worked - even the frying pan was decent! Cottage is quite isolated, which we liked, and our dogs loved the garden too. Unfortunately weather was too windy for too much sitting out there! Stairs and floor levels need to be taken with care, if like me you are visually impaired, but the cottage is an older building so these things are to be expected. Original fireplaces and latch internal doors give the cottage character. Two fridges and a small freezer gave plenty of food storage Well supplied with toilet and shower facilities, all fairly new and in keeping with the character of the cottage Would love to have seen pictures of this building before it was renovated and converted into one building

Very comfortable and extremely clean, lots of dishes and cooking utensils provided. Nice welcome pack provided also. Two bathrooms and one toilet shower, bit awkward for one of the couples...but understandable in one house. The one issue....a small one is we had to purchase more toilet rolls, washing up liquid, dish cloth, dishwasher tablets, and kindling and coal for the fire. We also got a bit of a shock when we got caught in the middle of a hunt, with riders and hounds. We took advantage of the short walk to the pub in Silk Willoughby, visited the Tally Ho for dinner one night, had a day by the sea in Skegness, and visited the pretty town of Woodhall Spa. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We would defiantly recommend a visit to this part of the world, and a stay in your beautiful property. Thank you

Thank you very much for your kind feedback. I'm sorry that you ran out of toilet rolls! The fire is laid ready for lighting with a basket of logs, and we provide enough kindling for one or two more fires, with it being self catering accommodation. Kind regards, Nicola. Property Owner

The cottage was lovely and cosy for a family weekend away for 9 of us. We were due to travel as one of the storms hit the UK and Nicola kept us up to date with the local weather so we could make an informed decision whether to delay our departure or travel as planned. Plenty of utensils, pots and pans for cooking, and the washing machine definitely came in handy after a very wet and muddy walk. The boot room is also brilliant for storing muddy boots. The bedrooms are a lovely size and we loved the walk in shower. The garden is a lovely size with plenty of tables and chairs - just a pity the weather was so awful that we couldn't use it. Definitely recommended - there's nothing not to like.

The location was perfect for us and all our Spaniels - great walks straight from the door. The cottage is ideal for a large family get away with a great mix of bedroom and bathroom options. Because of the nature of the cottage there is a small (but well worth ) compromise on clothes storage space in a couple of the bedrooms but this did not impact upon our enjoyment of the cottage. The cottage has everything you would need for a very enjoyable break. The revelation for us was the boot / drying room - an absolute god send to clean and dry off the dogs ( and the humans) before entering the cottage. The whole group ( 7 adults and 2 teenagers and 3 Spaniels) unanimously agreed that a return visit is a must - perhaps in the summer when we can enjoy the enclosed garden. The cottage is located in a rural location along a farm track and ideally situated for exploring Lincolnshire or further afield - we enjoyed a day trip the Sandringham which the Spaniels loved. Thank you for a lovely stay.

There were 7 of us in total. The cottage was beautiful and felt very homely and welcoming as soon as we walked in. There was a fire waiting for us in the cosy sitting room and the owner had put up a Christmas tree and decorations, which was lovely as this was our family Christmas catch-up! The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you could possibly need; lots of pots and pans, utensils and beautiful china. We have enjoyed eating in the formal dining room. All of the beds were very comfortable. The bedrooms are all very spacious with amazing views. We took our dog so the boot room was great for cleaning her up after a walk. The garden is totally enclosed and safe so we didn't have to follow her around and she enjoyed exploring by herself! The local pub is less than a mile away and well worth a visit. We didn't eat, but the food looked delicious. The landlord was extremely friendly and welcoming and made a fuss of our dog. There's a nice garden centre a short walk from the pub which also serves food and so much more. I would highly recommend Grange Farm! We will definitely be returning in the future, possible in the summer so we can enjoy the BBQ and lovely garden.

The kitchen was very well equipped and had a lovely welcome package awaiting us. The living room was spacious yet cosy, plenty of room for the 6 of us who stayed. The boot room was a fantastic and well needed addition that was used daily with our dogs. For a large house it was always very warm. The local pub was lovely, dogs and children welcome and such a friendly atmosphere, but make sure to take a torch as it is pitch black, but one is supplied at the cottage. The only negative point about the whole cottage was that there were a constant presence of flies in the cottage , but we put this down to the pile of burning manure opposite the cottage, not ideal but was manageable. • "We enjoyed our stay, the cottage is in a beautiful and remote location."

It suited our party of adults, young children and three dogs. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed. The garden was lovely and secure for our dogs. The only downside was that some of the beds were uncomfortable (mattresses) and as we were a large party who filled the cottage, the configuration of the bathrooms made it awkward at night time as you have to go through other people's bedrooms. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

They loved the walks into Silk Willoughby where there’s a lovely pub! Then along the path on London Rd into Sleaford. There’s a lovely Nature Reserve there that the dogs loved walking round. It’s a fantastic rural location. The owners had catered for all our needs. Towels, crockery, complementary logs, tea bags, coffee, milk, bread, washing powder etc. Even dog treats. There wasn’t anything extra we needed to start our holiday. The enclosed garden was brilliant. The boot room proved very useful to dry ours dogs off and hang our walking stuff. A Fantastic place and would highly recommend it. Read less

The garden is spacious with room to park 3/4 cars and is fully enclosed, totally dog and child friendly. The cottage had a warm, welcoming atmosphere and enough room (and bathrooms) to allow three generations and a dog to spend quality time together. I would like to congratulate the owner in getting the cottage experience just right, I’ve stayed in many cottages and this has been the best by far and I will most certainly be recommending Grange Farm Cottage to friends

It worked extremely well for our extended family to come together, as upstairs is split in two. Although we were only there for the Bank holiday weekend our 2 grandchildren loved that there were some games & books there (a book of gruesome facts was particularly appreciated by them :-) ). We don't have any dogs but did NOT find the house 'doggy'. An excellent family venue.

There are many lovely national trust properties and gardens nearby and some excellent garden centers for anyone who enjoys that. The cottage was welcoming, warm and comfortable and exceptionally clean with lots of facilities, it was tastefully furnished and very homely. the garden is enclosed so it was wonderful for our dogs and it is surrounded by fields on a no through road so no traffic except to nearby farms. The owner was on hand if needed but not at all intrusive. A lovely holiday and would love to go again.
