Jean gave us a very warm welcome and lots of information about the area and we knew that if we needed anything, she was around. We loved the open countryside, watching the birds, the peacefulness and the friendliness of the people we met on our days out. We will definitely be back to The New Build! Margaret and Mick

The standard was still top class and as we had remembered it. The owner Jean was very welcoming and available for help if we had needed it. The welcome pack she left was excellent and very generous compared to other cottages we have stayed in. It is a property close to the coast and major Lincolnshire towns making it suitable for all. we would certainly return again.

  • "Jean was extremely friendly and was on site to offer help if needed."

Her advice with reference to accessing the property down the narrow lane was very useful but different to the published information given by Sykes, perhaps that should be changed. The welcome pack was very generous, the best we have ever had and the fresh flowers were lovely. The accommodation overall was nicely furnished and the kitchen well equipped with everything you need for a self catering holiday. My only comment would be that there wasn't a grab rail in the shower and hooks for towels in the shower area would be really useful. A great location for visits to the coast and local market towns and very useful that short breaks are available.

  • "A really delightful, relaxing week."

Jean is an A⭐️ host and could not have been more helpful. The property is located on a quiet rural lane and is beautifully and comfortably furnished and equipped. We were very happy there. Our only criticism, nothing to do with the property, is that on arrival the satnav had taken us to a derelict property nearby - not a good start to our holiday. We located the New Build and felt that directions should be as Jean recommended, down the next turning which is wider and the ditches thus less of a hazard on a narrow lane. The New Build and its flagpole are immediately obvious as one travels along the lane from this direction too.

She showed us right to the front door where there is ample parking. On opening the door we were greeted by a very spacious and warm bungalow. Very well equipped and warm throughout. Spotlessly clean and decorated for Christmas, which was a delightful bonus. There was a very thoughtful welcome pack as well as fresh eggs and milk, the best we've ever had from a cottage holiday. The New Build is beautiful and private in a lovely setting. Just rolling fields to the front and and a lovely well kept smallholding with hens to the rear. Perfect for those wanting peace and quiet. Just a short drive and there is the wide expanse that is Mablethorpe beach. A short distance to the North is the Donna Nook grey seal colony managed by Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust. I can't finish until I have given a recommending nod the The Wagon and Horses in the village. We went for lunch and were not disappointed. Food excellent and very well presented. The owners and staff were very pleasant and helpful. Louth is just a 10 minute drive along the A157 where there is ample shopping and reasonably priced fuel. Definitely worth another visit to New Build and we will be booking in the very near future.

Obviously being relatively new everything was immaculate, from the standard of the decoration to the quality of the furnishings. Very spacious and comfortable, with lovely views across the fields. Being very cold when we stayed in January we woke to find frosts most mornings, which made the scenery even more lovely. Although the property is close to the road it is extremely quiet as the road is not a main or busy road at all, all we heard was the occasional tractor go by as it is a rural and remote setting. So this is a perfect place to stay if you wish a peaceful and tranquil stay. The owners who live on site provided a very warm welcome, and were there if you needed them (not that we did), but other than on arrival they leave you alone and you have your own driveway and entrance gate. A very generous welcome pack was provided which included amongst other things a bottle of wine, some delicious plum bread, crisps and freshly laid eggs from their chickens they keep on their land. Highly recommended, and would not hesitate to stay again.
